Not OP, but I'm pretty sure those are all Post-it brand flags. Should be at any office supply store or Amazon. These look like the smaller, arrow ones.

Something that might help darken the cupcakes is using black cocoa - it makes for a dramatically dark cake without the risk of food dye flavor coming through! It gives more of a dark chocolate taste though, so do watch out for that. :)

Glad you enjoyed it! yeah, Carol Ann Duffy is a great poet. She's been Britain's Poet Laureate for the last decade! The first Scott and the first woman to do so! You'll likely enjoy a collection of her poems in The World's Wife, which retells many classic stories with a tragi-comedic, feminist flair. She's recently stepped down from the laureateship, but not before her publishing her latest collection Sincerity. In it, she goes hard on recent political issues.

Get the game Munchkin

It's nearly D&D like.

I feel it's a good starting point to what table top games are like.

Get yourself some gesso, and prep your canvas surface before you paint. You’ll find the surface much more agreeable to paint on. Your off to a great start!

A book I found immensely helpful in working through proportion and perspective was Freehand Figure Drawing for Illustrators

Might be worth a look. Like $18 on Amazon.

Here you go! That's about as good a deal as I've found for boots that tall, short of lucking out at a thrift store or a store like Marshall's.

Paints: Vallejo Basic Colors, plus a few Reaper MSP paints like Truesilver, Gem Purple, and Adamantium black (which I used on the bases). I spent a lot of time mixing up new shades.

Primer: I'm a fan of spray primers since they tend to be a bit more even-coated and don't ruin details, I just used some Rustoleum Grey spray primer since I don't have an airbrush setup. Example.

Brushes: I use the Virtuoso 15-piece set, but most of those are too big for fine detail work, so it might be worth investing in even smaller brushes. Getting eyes right is fiendishly difficult.

Misc: I sometimes use a magnifying glass with clamps on it, but you need to be careful not to splash paint on it. I also use this after rinsing out my brushes.

You should absolutely check out r/minipainting for more resources, there's a lot to work with in their FAQs.

Well we know the Hand of Vecna is still out there. In actual D&D canon too I believe.

Official Arkan mini

If the thing holding you back from being a GM is minis, I suggest looking to Pathfinder's Battle Pawn series. They have a series where they print their monsters on hard card stock and insert them into plastic bases. Much cheaper than miniatures.

If you buy the Bestiary 1 box you'll get most of the most commonly used monster in RPG games. You could pick up the NPC Codex pawns for a variety of NPC "minis" and minis for players to choose from as well. Round it out with their Villain Codex set and you'll have a wide variety of pawns that will be capable of handling the cast majority of situations. If you don't have just the right Pawn, you'll at least have one that can make for a suitable stand in.

All total it's about $120, which is a lot, but to get even half the equivalent in miniatures, you'd spend hundreds more.

Sure they're not quite as fun as minis, but the thing about minis is, unless you have a lot of disposable cash, getting a good collection isn't easy. Minis are expensive, and prepainted ones even more so. So building up your collection at an affordable rate takes a lot of time and there are some minis that you'll never be able to get without spending hundreds of dollars on, because they were a limited time item. For example, the Colossal Red Dragon costs One Thousand Dollars if you want to own one. To put in perspective as to how much this minis price has changed when it was first released, it was sold for $74.99... Quite a big difference, huh?

I use these -- they screw together so you can adjust how tall they are, and there're wide ones and smaller ones for different minis. They're not too expensive and they work pretty well!

It's pretty pricey. The quality is really great. I almost bought one, but I preferred something a little more rustic (and affordable). So I went with this.

Self control, self determination, ability to perceive and act upon choices, identify and follow one overarching purpose.

Grog with the herd, prestream vm, first groon encounter, this groon encounter, Groon. Draw a line through those 5 points and thats the, at least spiritual/emotional path groon is setting for Grog. I think.

Anyone remember those cubes that connected together in Maths lessons (see below)? I've thought about buying some of them and gluing them in to platforms and different heights; they'd not be as pretty or elegant as the clear ones but would be much cheaper?
