It's kind of a cross between the two:
On one hand there's the "zero cmc artifact that needs a creature to produce mana" comparison, on the other hand, there's the "artifact that taps itself and a creature to produce mana" comparison.
...and on the gripping hand, either the drum or the mantle would be a better choice because of the crew 2 restriction.
This is a pretty good overview of the world that the books are set in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragaera
If you can find a copy of this book, it has a compilation of the first three novels in a usually supercheap paperback.
So it's funny. I'm not sure when it was released, but someone just linked to this on the Custom Magic Discord... If you look at the images, one of the months features Will and Rowan and actually confirms that they share a spark.
With regards to the art on Bountiful Return, it's pretty obvious that the Daily Galaxy doesn't own that image. I put it into Google image search, and that turned up references to a book called The Vikings (The Seafarers) published sometime between 1920 and 1980. It seems likely that the publisher of that book (Time Life Books) owns the image. Where it was originally put online remains a mystery, though so I wouldn't hold this one against you.
It's funny you named this creature that name. I work in healthcare and that's the name of a pill crusher we use:

Napamot, Fire From Water 3UUR
Legendary Enchantment
At the beginning of your precombat main phase, remove all flood counters from ~.
Whenever you cast a blue instant or sorcery spell, if there are no flood counters on ~, ~ deals two damage to target creature or player, then put a flood counter on ~.
Whenever you cast a red instant or sorcery spell, draw X cards, where X is the number of flood counters on ~.

While this card takes its name most directly from Apam Napat, the card itself is mostly inspired by a trend across mythologies that attributes great power, especially fire or sun related, submerged in water (citation needed, check out chapter 16 if you're interested, it's a cool book). The idea goes that there's sort of a root sound in nap(o)t, from which we get Neptune, Apam Napat, and others. Anyways I thought it was a neat idea, so we get this - flood counters stolen directly from [[Bounty of the Luxa]], which is a very cool card. While the fire is not submerged, you get some free burn - but filling it up with water douses the fire, and gives you the option of flooding out to draw a bunch of cards.
I've been using this stuff, but I highly suggest you avoid it unless you have an inkjet printer.
