Yeah, so basically about the cost of a decent dashcam. Don't get me wrong, I am all for DIY stuff, however it seems a little silly to create your own dashcam when you could just spend about the same money and buy one with 1080p/60 or 1440p/30 capabilities, a G-chock sensor, HDR, etc. Example
I am certainly not trying to dissuade anyone from inventing something awesome, however sometimes it comes down to time versus cost. Suppose it took OP about 2-3 hours to design, configure, assemble, install, etc. his custom configuration. You could buy the model I listed above and install it in about 20-30 minutes. Could you then better spend those 2-3 hours working on something even more inventive? Yes, yes, to each their own, I just wanted to mention it.
It’s the Crosstour CR750. I’ve had it a little over a month, and it’s been working very well so far with me moving it back and forth between my personal truck and work truck. I think this footage is enough to say I’m glad I got it. Nice to have a pair of eyes watching my front and my back.

But seriously this is exactly WHY I have a dashcam. are one of the reasons I got a dashcam. Especially living in LA with all the dishonest, fucked up people here. You don't even need an expensive cam like a blackvue. My cam is this A119 after it was recommended on /r/dashcam, though now they have the V3 version. Also for front and rear cam the A129 Pro Duo just came out and it is in 4k video. I ordered it and going to put in in my wife's car.
