I would say there is a sweet spot for performance with every price tier.
I would recommend building with an AMD 570 or 580 as your GPU. at 1080P they are extremely powerful cards for the money and in comparison to the lower priced cards, there is a HUGE performance jump when you get a 570 or higher ( Nvidia 1060 is good too but i feel like you are currently getting more for your money with AMD).
If you go below a 570 you are going to have to cut corners on gfx settings in everything and in the long term you won't feel like your money went as far.
So that GPU is around 180ish bucks and a 580 4gigabyte version is only 210. SO its worth the 30 bucks, bigtime. You can max out pretty much every single game at 1080p 60fps. The 480 is almost the exact same card.
On the CPU front it's going to be a hard choice. Dayz loves faster cores so Intel is def faster, but that comes at a decent cost. If we are talking about the lower tier of CPUs ( sub 200 bucks) the i5's are not overclockable so AMD kinda wins here to IMO. A 1500x or 1400 can be had for 170-190 bucks, they are overclockable and have a decent stock cooler. The intel parts will always need a cooler if you buy one you can OC. I would ALWAYS purchase an overclockable CPU. The return on your investment is worth it.
Above all DO NOT BUY FX series AMD cpus. A cheap I3 will better in most cases.
A B350 ryzen support motherboard is 100 bucks. Would recommend picking one with good onboard sound though.
8 gigs of Ram 60$ is all you need.
50$ for a 1TB hard drive
CASE 50$ bucks and 35$ PSU (get at least a 500w) and you are set.

This PC is pre built and honestly is a way better value. I feel like this is the sweet spot, you will totally feel like you have a beast rig and not just something that works. It's like 200 bucks more but the difference in performance and longevity is massive. It is also above the minimum spec for VR! This MB and CPU are not capable of overclocking but it is a very strong CPU and won't bottle neck the GPU at all.
If you built it yourself you would be around 700$ish. That Prebuilt is perfect for someone like you. I personally always build it myself since it was surprisingly easy once I learned. If you know someone that could help you IRL then totally build yourself. Otherwise get the PC i linked man. It's going to make your money go so much further.
Above all DONT GET FX amd cpus. You will feel the inadequacy immediately. You can go cheap on the GPU if it is at least a 460 (560) or 1050ti (950, 750ti). That can be easily upgraded later. DO NOT buy any GPUs lower than the ones i mentioned.
Remember that you can plug this PC into your TV. All new flat panel TV's are essentially PC monitors with higher latency. That could save you a good bit of funds till later. I play on a 46 inch in a recliner with a wireless g700s mouse and keyboard. I had to do some research to buy the right TV to get low enough latency, but you can make do with the TV you play consoles on, especially since steam has big picture mode.
I have almost the same level of rig as the prebuilt and i get 60+ fps on high setting 90% of the time. Only in major cites does it drop and it is only around 50fps then. So Dayz looks awesome and is smooth as silk. Heck i play witcher 3, DOOM, and Battlefield 1 on ultra and stay at 60 fps 90% of the time.
If you drop down to the PC you linked you will play on the lowest settings and it will dip into the 30fps range in cites or lower. The difference in how the game feels between the two PC's is like night and day.
Yeah sure, the Samsung ones are really great. Price wise they go for more than a hard drive but are definitely worth it. This one here is going for around £88 new for 250GB ($130) but will be cheaper if you are buying in a already built PC.
The sales pitch is that SSDs are around 10x faster than regular hard drives. The reason this is useful is because DayZ has a lot of landscape and objects that are read directly off your drive every time they come into view. The faster the drive, the faster your game. It will also increase your FPS by a healthy amount. My game looks fantastic after upgrading and I was even able to run the game in full 1080 HD which was uncomfortable before (the FPS was too low for me to enjoy it).
Also DayZ is currently really processor heavy and doesn't necessarily rely on a graphics card as much as other games. This may change in the future however. I would suggest getting an Intel processor definitely with at least 3.0Ghz power or more if possible.
Since this is a laptop you are buying, I would suggest looking for one with an Intel processor (i5 if you can) with an SSD and a graphics card if you want. The Intel chip has an inbuilt graphics card which will run the game fine if you have an SSD but the game may rely on a graphics card more in the future so getting one could be a good idea in the long run.
This may cost slightly more but will run the game 10x better than the laptop you posted and you will be so much happier I promise. The Intel chip will also help you do everything else you need to do on the PC brilliantly and will last you a long time. Hope I've helped and see you Chernarus!
From one web designer to another, i tend to find that while it's nice to design for designs sake, with something like this you should be designing for functions sake. Things like the toolbelt bit on the left do admittedly have a charm to them, but they are unnecessary and end up looking a bit tacky instead.Same goes for the backgrounds on the different sections. a simpler background with transparency works much better for things like this.
Also, i'm struggling to really know which button i should be pressing to do certain functions. Is the red arrow bit a delete/drop button? If so, use tried and tested iconography. Stick an x in it instead of an arrow and stick it on the other side of the box in the corner so there's no chance of mistakenly clicking it.
The other buttons carry similar burdens. In the loot, you have a green tick and a grey arrow. Common sense and logic are telling me that the green tick is to put it in the inventory, and the grey arrow is to put it in the backpack. But then the same buttons appear over the coke can. The grey arrow still feels like it performs the same function, but now the green tick seems to embody a 'use' functionality.
Number one rule is "Don't make me think". You should read the book if you haven't already. It's very useful reading for web designers.
Aside from that, good first draft. I look forward to seeing your revisions after your feedback from the community :)
Sorry to tell you, but that card is far too old to support DX11. Well, if you are used to play with that gpu you can find a good replacement that will do the job for something like 40€ (see this for reference). Anyway I suggest you buy something better, even if that might mean you'd have to spend at least 3-4 times as much, but it would be totally worth it.
Logitech F540. This headset is discontinued, but has what to me is one of the most important features in a gaming headset: multiple audio inputs. In the case of this headset there's analogue (headphone jack) and USB. This allows you to individually adjust the volume levels of game sounds and TeamSpeak. This is huge in games like DayZ mod where you're talking to multiple friends and jump in a helicopter and all of a sudden the game noise is really loud; or your friends are talking and all of a sudden you hear footsteps or somebody opening a can of soda in-game and you need to turn down TeamSpeak to pinpoint the game sounds. Also, if you record it allows you to use DXTORY or Audacity to record game sounds, your mic, and your TeamSpeak friends on 3 separate channels. Any headset that is advertised for the PS3 has this capability and will most likely work on your PC because PS3 uses USB for voice chat. Other headsets like Astro A40s use the same principle though the Astros have digital optical and USB as the two inputs (I believe analogue is an option as well). My headset has two volume knobs, one for voice and one for game. The Astros come with a mix amp that you can use to adjust the balance between game and voice.
Hi there, Is this Dragnoski from this thread ( http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1i6wi2/upgrading_for_better_fps/ )?
As I mentioned in that thread, the board you have is actually pretty versatile in terms of what CPU it will support (here is the full list http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3833 ) .
Therefore, without changing motherboard you could install one of the compatible AMD Bulldozer FX-4000, FX-6000 or FX-8000 series CPUs (quad core, hex core and octo core, respectively).
The newer AMD Piledriver FX-8300 (95W CPU) is also compatible with your board.
Alternatively, the AMD Phenom II X4 and X6 CPUs will work on your board - they are a bit older than the Bulldozer and Piledriver chips, but they are still rather powerful and can be had for less money.
In your post you mention the i7 3820, i5 3570K and GTX 760. Unfortunately all of these parts cost over £200 each (well the i5 3570K costs ~£180) and these Intel CPUs will need new motherboards which add further costs.
There has been some suggestions to focus on the CPU and get a new Intel/AMD CPU and a new motherboard and ignore the graphics card. While I do agree that ARMA/DayZ is CPU-heavy, however your existing HD 6450 graphics card is frankly terrible for gaming and make DayZ basically unplayable - no matter how good your CPU is (the HD 6450 is a really just a HTPC card). Therefore, I wouldn't suggest doing an upgrade which spends all your money upgrading the CPU without improving the graphics card.
Therefore, considering your modest budget I would suggest doing a substantial CPU upgrade which doesn't break the bank - by upgrading to a better AMD CPU that works with your board (possibly buying second-hand from a reputable seller to reduce costs) and a decent graphics card on the level of an AMD HD 7790 or Nvidia GTX 650 Ti (this one is a really good deal http://www.amazon.co.uk/GeForce-Graphics-Dual-link-Express-Technology/dp/B009M4MAIK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1373839486&sr=8-2&keywords=gtx+650+asus ).
Also, depending on the make and model number of your existing Power Supply Unit (PSU) - you may need a new one to power the substatially more powerful graphics card (something like this Corsair CX 500W Bronze is a sensible choice http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Builder-Series-Bronze-Supply/dp/B009RMP2VE/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1373839583&sr=1-1&keywords=cx+500 ).
Thats very nice. I've been looking at this one lately but its a little more pricey. https://www.amazon.com/Fragpedal-Quad-PC-Gaming-Footpedal/dp/B005GVWTS4/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1478813556&sr=1-2&keywords=fragpedal
I like the fact that its expandable. Have you had any issues with yours (conflict wise)? It may be a better fit for my small desk.
Hello, I am a lover of models and DayZ. This will get you started:

I may add that the gentleman above has shown one piece minitures with decent detail. This kit is advanced with much detail and tons of parts. Good luck fellow survivors / modelers!
Plantronics 780. It's an over the ear headset. Very comfortable. Though I do need to pull it off at least one ear every other hour or so. The 7.1 emulated surround sound sounds great for games like BF3 and for playing music. This thing can get loud too.
Okay Mr. Ignorant......since you must clearly be five years old......I'll hold your hand. I was providing you with a cliff notes....but if you'd like to read more, here ya go:

They're getting better and better. Although it's rather expensive the Asus Zephyrus is a good indicator of the future of gaming laptops. I'll bet in a few years gaming laptops will fit all your needs.
Awesome! Thank you so much for the help. One last question and I swear I am done! What is the difference between these two items:
I mean, I've shot all my life, and only certain scopes are like that. Like the PSO, they have a rubber eye piece, but you shouldn't ever get that close with scopes like the one in the video. They would obviously cover up a lot of your view, but you won't be completely blackscreen.
(Stuff like this: http://www.amazon.com/Vortex-Optics-Viper-6-5-20x50-Reticle/dp/B002DODONG is what I'm used to)
http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Handed-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00EO2ECUY
I think Razer Naga would be your best choice, programmable keys allows you to play any game with only one hand.
Plus as someone said, you could get pedals for additional keys.
I just recently bought an SSD and I was fairly disappointed with the performance gains I saw.
Actual boot time I haven't noticed much of a difference if any at all.
From password screen to desktop is where I've seen the difference. With a 7200 RPM drive I was choking up for a good 15-30 seconds (start a program, takes foreveeeeeeer to launch) and this was with a bare minimum set of startup programs.
Loadup time on dayz has improved (~10s or less to ~4s).
That's about it. If you're looking for FPS gains/being able to set higher graphics your money could (likely, depending on your current build) be much better spent elsewhere.
If you're still interested, Amazon has a deal on a Samsung 250GB SSD for $140. As someone who always checks newegg daily sales, that is a great deal.
