I kept having light pads fail so my husband bought me an LED light fixture that we put on a drafting table (I can’t tilt the table but I absolutely cannot work with it tilted).
Harbor Freight has amazing storage containers. I have purchased 6 of these containers so far!! 24 Box Storage System
Then IKEA has the perfect container to lay your paintings flat. I get mostly 40x65cm paintings. GIMSE Underbed storage box, white, 25 5/8x27 1/2 "
For the borders, because some of the glue does bleed over; I use white duct tape to cover the edges. Yes it does cover the legend, but with having a light pad — it shows the legend. I found using painters tape or cute washi tape was not coming up easily when it came time to frame. I don’t constantly buy washi to match my paintings. Lol.
Plus if I don’t get an inventory sheet, I take a picture of the legend and print it. Then I check all the colors to amounts and highlight everything that checks out (if there’s discrepancies I’ll contact the seller to fix it). Then I put all the diamonds into a quart zip lock bag with the sheet until I’m ready to work on it.
Pick Me Up Tool is my favorite pen to use. Then I use poster tack to refill with. So much easier than the pink wax. Silhouette Pick-Me-Up
For 40x65cm paintings, I get these kind of poster frames. It’s a perfect fit and I just cut the border down and attach the painting with some more tape and it’s perfect! Mainstays 18x24 Trendsetter Poster and Picture Frame, Black
I use a desk with a spinny chair lowered all the way so the desk is about chest level for me. It's much easier on the back and easier to see the designs. I sometimes use my coffee table and sit on the ground but that's a lot less fun.
My lighting is bad everywhere so I just use a clip on desk light like this one. It's extremely nice to be able to move the light around to the part I'm working on.
I've seen these light tables advertised as well. There are also a variety of lap desks and trays that might make things easier on you. A bit pricey but nicer than a tote lid for sure. I wish you good luck and good posture.

It’s much more sturdy than the original design and works much better. I had the original one and that one broke after a few uses. This one can’t break (well, with normal use) because between the open rounds there’s no tiny slivers of metal

I’ve just started diamond painting, but for what it’s worth I don’t roll it. I just put a flat heavy object on top of it every day after I’m done, like a laptop. 🤷♀️
I got it on Amazon and I still love it. Definitely worth it but my 1 year old can open the containers but I don't think there is a way of stopping that unless I used baby proof containers haha.
