Try for a T300 RS GT IMHO. Will give you the option to expand into H-shifter driving down the road easily by buying a TH8A shifter.

According to CamelCamelCamel, it fell as low as $240 briefly on Amazon last December but anything $300 and under is a pretty good deal basically, and I think it's hit $270 repeatedly.

It's this

But the Q&A makes it sound like you can't access the dlc

I bought this bad boy, not real expensive. I beat and mash on it all day then it folds up to go under my desk. Very sturdy, read the reviews.

What do you mean by not set up for Eyefinity? I'm using NVIDIA Surround, which does the same thing as the AMD Eyefinity.

My field of view setting in DR is 0.2, which is already too wide for a realistic cockpit view with my current monitor setup.

My monitors are mounted on a fixed triple monitor mount (http://www.amazon.co.uk/NewStar-FPMA-D700D3-Flat-Screen-Mount/dp/B0072LX8WC), so i can't use wider field of view in a realistic way.

As an option if you're looking for 2 pedals, you could get some CH Rudder Pedals, lock them in place for the rudder axis, and the toe brake axis would work fairly well. I did that myself for a brief time 15 years ago. Just no clutch. And it would require PC.

It's hard to really advise knowing there are deffective units out there, but take a look at this one for PC https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-941-000045-G27-Racing-Wheel/dp/B001NT9TK4

Ah I know that feeling. I'm on console unfortunately. Bought it to game with my cousins and they stopped playing. Will upgrade to PC once I move out of my parents house and get my own place.

There is a new Thrustmaster wheel that just came out that is 200 dollars and has FFB.. It looks decent. I'd still upgrade to the TP3A pedals and get the TH8A shifter to complete that set up.

are you in the US? Amazon just dropped the price of the T300 to 200 with the 3 pedal set, insane price for what you get.

This beats the historical low on amazon.ca according to this. And 20 dollars less than a used one I was just eyeing up. Will probably end up ordering this, thanks for the post.

Hah, creativity.

Who knows what weird contraption I would have ended up with if I didn't opt to get a racing cockpit with my first wheel. Got a basic openwheeler cockpit...

However it features no monitor stands, and also by default sits incredibly low to the ground. I first had that placed on the floor in front of my living room tv, but the tv was too high. I was looking up at it constantly, was not ideal. My 'ghetto' fix for that was to put a computer monitor on the end of my coffee table and scoot that over my pedals. That was decent enough, but I wanted to get the cockpit out of the living room entirely and was also getting rid of the coffee table. Eventually just had to find a different company who makes custom racing monitor stands , had to customize it to make it shorter than their default lowest setting. Now the openwheeler has an optional seat riser set which is pretty cool. Some people built wooden stands for the entire thing to make it higher.

Anyway, having my racing cockpit at the end of my coffee table with a monitor on it was as ridiculous my setup was for a couple months or so.
