Marty Skalr has a book. I havent read it yet, but I own it. I saw him talk about it some at the EPCOT's 30th panel he did, and it sounded like a great book.

I also managed to find Building a Dream (the 96 version, not the 2003 version) on eBay for $10. Either version routinely goes for over $40 since its out of print. Its a good book, too.

I also own How to Be Like Walt which has been an OK book so far. There's better biographies out there of him, though if youre looking for ways to apply Walt's life as an inspiration to your own work ethic, this is a good book.

The Imagineering Workout is a book I dont own, but is one that I'll probably be buying soon.

Oh, and also look for two books from Leonard Kinsey (I bought them on my Kindle) Dark Side of Disney, about hidden secrets of WDW, and Our Kingdom of Dust, a fun fictional tale set at WDW. (Both bordering on PG-13/R).

And also a book by the original Dreamfinder Ron Schneider called From Dreamer to Dreamfinder, about his journey from other themeparks to WDW and more, is a good book. Also bought on my Kindle.

Well, a lot of these stories are based on existing folk stories, some of which have existed for centuries. Though Disney films are neither historically accurate or follow the original stories completely, a lot of the original tales did not have mothers. In this here book, the author goes into quite a lot of detail about the role of the missing mother. "..the dying mother usually attempts to protect the child after she is gone. In some fairy tales, a blessing or benediction is used to cement the spiritual connection between the two." Though we do not see this in Disney movies, there is always a maternal figure or friend around to assist the princess; the forest animals in Snow White, The Fairy God Mother in Cinderella, Flounder and Sebastian in The Little Mermaid, Rajah in Aladdin and the furniture in Beauty and the Beast. We're also told that mothers in fairy tales symbolise safety and all that is good. The absence of a mother or protector also forces the 'child' to "draw on inner resources that might not have been tested were the mother still around. It is the mother's death that sets the stage for the later confrontation with the witch." These heroines, for the most part, fight their battles on their own (of course, with the help of a man, but that's a different conversation altogether) and they become better role models and a lot more interesting for it. In the original tales, women were celebrated and were a lot more resourceful than the Disney versions give them credit for. I'd say a lot of this "missing parent" malarky is based on the tradition that fairy tales have absent mothers and also to provide strong, female role models who take on the world on their own.

It's a good book, by the way, I'd recommend it.

Read The Life and Time of Scrooge McDuck by Don Rosa. It is a collection of issues 0-12 of the series (issues 285-297 of the comic) The original paperback is $$$ since its out of print, but the hardcover is more affordable if you get it used. Going to a comic shop is the best bet. I expect they will have it on their shelf for cover price. Heck, you can probably buy the original issues for cover price.

In the original Carl Barks stories Scrooge would often make outrageous claims like the fact that he was a cattleman in Australia, a 49er in California or encouraged Teddy Roosevelt to take up politics. When Don Rosa took up the series and it turns out there is no bigger Carl Barks fan than him. He did a series of comics elaborating on all those fun tidbits and put together a quintessential history of Uncle Scrooge that is beyond enjoyable. It's a great read and gives you fabulous insight into McDuck's character.

You are in luck, Tangled has a cute romance in it and considering you are her SO you would be crazy not to play on this. First thing that comes to mind is the romantic scene: [You were my new dream] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oze0ig0SPbQ)

  1. A card mentioning her as your "new dream" would be sweet
  2. You have to include the paper lanterns, maybe a romantic date could end with releasing a lantern together
  3. As someone mentioned before, etsy is great for little things too
  4. And this toy frying pan with the promise that you can go get it signed together one day in WDW would be pretty awesome too

I've been partial to this "Disney Jazz" compilation - "Everybody Wants to be a Cat" (http://www.amazon.com/Everybody-Wants-Be-Cat-Disney/dp/B0045CBKN0)
Top jazz performers reinvent Disney classics. Most are quite good. The music never falls into that vast wasteland known as "smooth jazz" - instead, it stays firmly rooted in true jazz. Good stuff.

Louis Armstrong's "Disney Songs the Sachmo Way" is another fun compilation of tunes. This time done only as Sachmo could do them. His version of "Bibbidi Bobbidy Boo" is my kids' favorite. (http://www.amazon.com/Disney-Songs-The-Satchmo-Way/dp/B0013JZJ2Q)

Dave Brubeck also swung Disney songs in a jazzy way. His "Dave Digs Disney" is a classic jazz album, and fun for the Disney fan. (http://www.amazon.com/Dave-Digs-Disney/dp/B0018PZ80I)

There's also the Sherman & Sherman Songbook, which is quite a treasure. (http://www.amazon.com/Sherman-Brothers-Songbook-digital-booklet/dp/B0039F4P18) It features stuff from the Mickey Mouse Club, many original Magic Kingdom rides (Small World, Tiki Room) and a ton of other great stuff. It's a must-have for any Disney aficionado.

I just finished reading An American Original about Walt Disney. I knew very little about his life story but I have a good understanding now. Very inspirational.

I am currently reading the Haunted mansion Imagineering book.. I haven't gotten extremely far into it, but so far it's given great insight into what went into creating the original Disneyland ride. I finally understand references I always heard about the original pirate storyline that the mansion was supposed to have, as well as how it was supposed to be a walking guided tour attraction.

I've never seen one for sale that makes them just like the ones sold at WDW but I bought this one recently and love it. It's not perfect but it makes great waffles and my daughter loves it just the same plus you can put them on sticks which she LOVES!

The third item you are describing is an orb.

As for a toy set, I saw none on Amazon, Ebay or Etsy. If you don't care about price or just want some to work off or have as soon as possible, I found the following links.

Gloves: https://www.amazon.com/Princess-Birthday-Wedding-Holiday-Costume/dp/B07NWBN8SD/ref=mp_s_a_1_29?dchild=1&keywords=frozen+coronation&qid=1574564220&sr=8-29

Orb: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2018-Disney-Frozen-Broadway-Musical-Queen-Elsa-Coronation-Orb-Jewelry-Box/174043357449?hash=item2885cae109:g:JlsAAOSwo9Zdi4xk

Scepter (admitedly, it is rather cheap but at least you SHOULD be able to get it before Christmas): https://www.etsy.com/listing/202052032/elsa-coronation-tiara-crown-for-children?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=frozen+coronation+scepter&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&organic_search_click=1

However, if you are willing to wait some time and are fine with giving the set after Christmas, I personally suggest you commission some crafter through Etsy to make the items for you. Look at different Frozen products on Etsy.com and find some crafters/companies whose work you like and then contact them with a picture of the coronation scene so that they know what to reference. I have found that items I had made in this manner to be of good quality and better what you could normally find if you have good communication with the other party.

My favorites in no particular order:

Realityland - Goes into the history of Walt Disney World, with a heavy focus on the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. It covers MGM and the Animal Kingdom as well, but you can tell the author has a real ax to grind with Michael Eisner, and so the second half of the book comes off him being bitter about change. Regardless, it's worth a read and the front half on the first phase and Epcot are really interesting.

Disney War - Possibly my favorite Disney book. It covers the Michael Eisner era of the company, from him and Wells joining in the 80s to Bob Iger taking over. This book covers all of the aspects of the company, not just the parks, and is very inside baseball. I love it because it covers a lot of the projects and decisions the company makes from a business perspective rather than from a storytelling/magic/enjoyment level.

Building a Company - This is Bob Thomas' biography for Roy O Disney. I'm a fan of this one because it offers an alternate perspective on the early years, by focusing on Roy instead of Walt. Similar to Disney War, it covers a lot of the same history that you'd get out of a Walt biography, but with more of a lean on the business element.

In Service to the Mouse - The memoirs of Jack Lindquist. It's a fun easy read full of random anecdotes and memories from his time at the Disney company, all the way up to him being made president of Disneyland.

There are 2 mounts on his chair. One is on the handle to get his PoV. The second is mounted by his feet looking back at him to get his reactions. I am really glad I did this, as we caught some pretty cool things.

I am guessing you are interested in the removable mount that is on his handle. I got the Fotopro UFO2 from amazon. It's a flexible tripod with rubber legs that really worked well. I didn't have any problems with it slipping or moving. I used it for various applications from making a 2 hand grip with a wider base to holding 1 leg and wrapping the other 2 around my arm while on a ride so I couldn't drop the camera. It really did work well for me, and I would recommend it. As of this post, amazon has it for $20.99.

The lower mount is a bit of a cobbled together rig. I started with a Ram Mount brand base that we used to attach his iPad to his chair when he needed a communication device. I took the iPad mount off and used a gopro clamp to mount the 2nd camera.

Head to your local bookstore and pick up (I think it's just 10 bucks) the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2012, it should be mostly white with a thick red border near the bottom.

I'm 28 but I'm a bit obsessed with Disney from all the amazing memories I had as a kid, so when my (now fiance') and I went there with some friends and I proposed, I wanted to make the most of it. That book is AMAZING. Just the little interesting facts you can learn about the parks while finding out what to skip and what to miss (I really only read it for the Park-specific info and the restaraunts, the rest is sort of obvious) made a world of difference. I'm sure at times my "tour guide" comments were less interesting to everyone else than they were to me, but the connection the book gives you to the parks really enriches the experience.

It's the little things that you start to notice that just make the entire experience feel more magical. Dumb little things like how aside from the castle, the park is designed to keep you from being able to see the other "Lands" so you become more immersed in the one you in; or how the railings are painted green because your mind tunes them out that way, or even something really dumb like.. there is a trash can every 30 steps because Walt Disney sat at other theme parks and watched to see how far someone would walk before just dropping trash on the ground. Turns out, it was 30 steps.

Link to what the guide looks like - (http://www.amazon.com/Unofficial-Guide-Disney-World-Guides/dp/111801233X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344268835&sr=8-1&keywords=guide+to+walt+disney+world+2012)

So I know this has nothing to do with the question you asked but if you have discs that are scratched up so they won't play but they're not destroyed try the Skip Dr I didn't believe it would work but it rescued 30 DVDs that my kids wrecked pretty good. There were 4 that I was unable to repair but otherwise it worked amazing.

Check the hourly forecast on sites or apps like Weather Underground, which is saying that it'll probably rain most of the afternoon and early evening, tapering off around bedtime. It looks like it lets up during breakfast Monday morning and then again for the fireworks Monday night, so that'll probably be when you want to try seeing Happily Ever After. Tuesday looks like a dry morning, rainy lunch, and then it dries up around dinnertime.

Or the forecast could be wrong. Keep a forecast app handy, and make sure you've got an app with a good radar function, as seeing where the storms are and where they're heading can be a real godsend ("Oh, this storm is heavy, but fast-moving, we can just stay in the gift shop a few minutes then get on our way." "It's going to rain over Epcot for a while, but it looks like the worst of it has already passed Animal Kingdom.")

Good luck, and bring a waterproof case/sleeve for your phone, especially since it's how you make FP and restaurant reservations!!

I love CyberPower PC, its so easy to pick and customize, my sister got her laptop from them and now I got my dream rig! And thank you!

I got all three from Amazon, mostly for aesthetic reasons if I'm being honest XD
