The best bet would be to go with Japanese or Korean sunscreens. If you're in the US, you can find good quality ones for cheap on Amazon (or through Amazon global on the AmazonJP site). The Biore UV Watery Essence is really popular on /r/AsianBeauty. Personally I've tried the Nivea Sun Protect Watery Gel (this is my absolute favorite sunscreen, but definitely leaves a shiny look on your face that is easily covered by makeup), and the Shiseido Senka Aging Care UV Sunscreen which both are great. For me personally, I've found the Shiseido Senka one irritates my eyes, but I haven't ever heard of anyone else for whom that happens. But I have very sensitive eyes and skin (well, kind of). For a Korean brand, the Missha All Around Safe Block Sun Milk is also a huge favorite of many on /r/AsianBeauty. This is the one I personally want to try next, as it's also sweat-resistant and I burn like no other, so it's a good combo for this summer. :)

Also, these all have SPF 50 and at least PA +++. I hope you find one you like! From my experience, the two I've tried sit well under makeup, and I've heard the other two also sit well under makeup. I hope this helps!

I used to feel the same way about people talking about various all day formulas (aka they must be aliens who don't eat or drink) until I tried the SSMI. I did find the SSMI has a couple of tricks:

1 no balm underneath. I use a v moisturizing lip balm when I go to bed but nothing when I get up. Mongo Kiss Mongo Kiss Lip Balm, Yumberry, 0.25 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FO6UK8G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_4QXnDbCWV998Z

2 once the lipstick is on, respect the dry down period: try not to press lips together or eat/drink for 10 to 20 minutes or so. If I press my lips together it's much more likely to get clumpy and flake. I usually put it on after I've eaten and had coffee ☕

3 counterintuitive but apply sparingly! I usually do one thin coat + a little edge touch up. Like I will wipe the applicator again the inner lip of the tube so not too much gets on the doe foot at once. The heavier the coat/multiple layers = more clumps and flakes.

It may just not be the right formula for you but that might help troubleshoot! Good luck 😊💄💋

I just got the right shade of the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation, and I reaaaaallllly like it. KathleenLights and Lisa Eldridge recommend it for people with normal to dry skin.

I'm not sure that it's technically a gel, but it's definitely unlike my drugstore foundations in texture and finish.

On me, it truly is "my skin but better" when I apply it with my fingers.

I got it for $7 and free shipping on [Amazon](Bourjois Fond de Teint Healthy Mix Extension Serum, No. 53 Beige Clair, 1 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005IEH67I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Ig7Jyb5M736PT) during one of the random, inexplicable sales. It's back up to $13 now.

Ok so I'd normally never recommend such a lame brand but honestly Mary Kay makes a clear lip liner I really like. $6 on Amazon.

It works great, no color at all. I'm sure other brand makes the same thing but the Mary Kay one is good.

I was given a bunch of free liners from the Jesse's Girl line. While I found the bold colors pretty nice, I was pretty blown away by their black waterproof liner. I was ALL ABOUT the KvD tattoo liner (and honestly still am) but the Jesse'S Girl liner is now the one that lives in my purse that I rely upon for everyday use. It's got the same nice brush tip, is about half the price, and they carry it at some Rite Aids. https://www.amazon.com/Jesses-Girl-Waterproof-Liquid-Eyeliner/dp/B00EZI0IGO

(full disclosure, I am friends with the founders daughter, who hooked me up with a small haul, not for reviews or anything but just because shes really sweet)

I've never used the Lora liner, but It looks like it may be really similar to this Maybelline Master Precise liner. I love this liner and it's pretty inexpensive.

I love this one: https://www.amazon.com/MIZON-Snail-Repair-Blemish-Ounce/dp/B00AFOGDE8
Nice pinkish tone with good medium coverage & excellent SPF!

Reserve Your Cabana works as a setting powder and has a luminous finish. It's definitely less drying than Rimmel Stay Matte. If your skin tone is fair this would be a good option.

L'oreal True Match Powder is good too. It feels almost soft, and in my experience it isn't drying.

Check these artbins ones out. Technically they are made for holding pins, razors, and other things for crafting, BUT they work great for my shadow singles collection. Plus you can get them for $4.99 each. Its also a prime ship item if you have Amazon prime. ArtBin 6811AG Slim Line Magnetic Box - Clear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011CCKCTS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_NTfxDb1P0ZJSK

I just recently bought the green NYX Studio Perfect Primer and I have loved it so far. It does have some mixed reviews but it has worked great for me so far.

As someone with incredibly oily skin, I can't recommend Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Gel (NOT the gel cream, unless you have dry skin) enough. It's the best moisturizer I've found that doesn't make my skin more oily, or make me break out. My skin loves it.

The drugstore skincare recommendations from /r/skincareaddiction are usually

  1. CreaVe Moisturizing or foaming cleanser

  2. Stridex maximum strength (in the red box) or Alpha Hydrox 10% AHA

  3. Creave or Cetaphil moisturizer in the tub.

I've been using this for about a year and it's been working well. I have no desire to "upgrade" to more expensive products. In fact I just got some samples of clinique moisturizers and I find I don't like them as much as my $10 CeraVe.

I've also found to great masks. Not sure if they're "drugstore" strictly, but I found them at walmart.

  4. [Freeman Charcoal and Black Sugar mask] (http://www.amazon.com/Freeman-Facial-Charcoal-Black-Polish/dp/B00BZ1QN2C/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8), hands down one of my favorite masks. Leaves my face feeling so great.

  5. [The Queen Helene mint julep masque] (http://www.amazon.com/Queen-Helene-Julep-Masque-Ounce/dp/B00008CMOQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1427735875&sr=1-1&keywords=queen+helene+mint+julep+masque) - I don't use this as much now that my skin is clearer and less greasy, but it's a mud mask so it's great for pimples and oil.

I just picked up a few Wet n Wild balm stains and the color is great! It's subtle with just one layer but definitely gives a nice buildable stain which lasts a few hours. I bought A Stiff Pink and Lady and the Vamp.

u/ranchrunda · 2 pointsr/drugstoreMUA

i have a dupe from technic called 'high lights'. looks a lot like the real thing packaging wise and the pigment is awesome, looks really pretty as a natural glow but it's buildable too. picked it up for £2 here in the uk!!!! here's a link — https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009FX2XCG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_1zwCxbAYKN5Y9

I use this if you have dry skin it might be good for you. /r/asianbeauty is a good place to check out some others :)

I also have this palette as one to travel with. It's compact and good as an all in one, and I like to keep it in my gym bag

I recently got the Needs for this purpose as well, but ended up giving to my daughter.

This morning, I saw this on Amazon and thought it would serve a similar purpose. https://www.amazon.com/Profusion-Cosmetics-Trendsetter-Collection-Eyeshadow/dp/B074NDQ4H3/ref=sr_1_7?crid=3TYG11JIO91P5&keywords=profusion+cosmetics&qid=1568662094&sprefix=profusion%2Caps%2C170&sr=8-7

Along this line, Mizon's snail bb cream is the palest I've ever found with neutral undertones. It's my HG bb!

For warm undertones, Skin79 in the orange bottle is great too.

I've been using this brush https://www.amazon.com/Flat-Kabuki-Foundation-Brush-Keshima/dp/B00JLAOP3S?th=1 with my Everyday Minerals Jojoba base for the last few years. I dampen the brush which helps to achieve medium to full coverage quickly and to prevent a cakey look.
