The Phillips stuff is the expensive kind. You could go the budget route with stuff like this. These are only like $15, and don't strictly require a smart home. Maybe you can afford a few of the cheap kind? If not now, then someday. Don't forget, you can get apps for your phone and laptop to do cool things with the screen.
