Tiny, Big Cover Art

I'm very proud of the opening line to my new novella “Tiny, Big.” It is “Why would I want my arms and legs cut off? That seems a bit extreme even for me.”

If that doesn't make you want to turn the page, nothing will.

Never fear gentle reader no legs and arms were harmed and the creation of the story. As is often the case with all great works of literature this story was inspired by a porn photo. You can see the photo by following this link. The actresses involved are 5 foot tall Penny Pax and 5 foot 11 inch Dylan Ryan. The image is clearly created to appeal to fans of lesbian macrophilia and microphilia, along with fans of lesbian bondage, lesbian sex, and general perversion.

(Sound of a record scratch)

Wait … what? “What are macrophilia and microphilia?” you almost certainly may ask.

Macrophilia is being sexually attracted to someone who is very tall. Microphilia is being sexually attracted to someone who is very short. Interestingly, there does not appear to be any term for finding images of very large and very short women having sex appealing.

But there is a subreddit for it named r/samespecies. Wouldn't you know it, a subreddit would exists for a perversion long before it even had a name? R/samespecies is full of images of very short and very tall women standing next to one another, generally just smiling at a camera, sometimes nude, more often clothed, though there ARE occasionally pics of naked women of different size having sex.

I've found that the Your Fantasies Unlimited format works very well with porn images to create short porn stories and novellas. And I'd like to claim that the Dylan Ryan/Penny Pax image alone was responsible for the plot of “Tiny, Big.” And it is a very evocative image, especially expressions on Penny and Dylan's faces – they really know how to act bondage.

But I have to admit, I had another source of inspiration, the work of the Swedish artist known only on Grigbertz. Here's his website with lots of drawings. Grigbertz's stories almost always have a theme of short women, often elfin and ALWAYS naked and in bondage, generally with a mythical medieval background. Here's a very nice example of Grigbertz's artwork that fits what I've described.

In one of Grigbertz's storylines, women who don't reach a certain height by age 18 (or whatever the age of consent in Sweden is) are enslaved. The women are standard Grigbertz tinies, and they are enslaved by taller men and women, who molest them, much to everyone's great pleasure, including the tinies.

Well say no more. I didn't exactly copy Grigbertz's mythology, because what fun would that be? And in Grigbertz's case, it would be hard because his text is fragmentary and not well developed, based on what I've seen. Being a writer, I tend more toward text, for whatever reason. And I work out my ideas in greater detail. But Grigbertz's skill in communicating his fantasies with a few pencil lines is not to be ignored.

You can read my precis of my story on my Amazon page, but I have to filter it very heavily for Amazon's sake, plus I have to keep it brief. Here's the full story:

In the magical land of Corliandra, human beings are divided into three different body types: Tinies, three to four feet tall, averaging 3'6”, Normies who run five to 6 and a half feet tall, in short, human beings as we know them on Earth, for the most part, and Bigs, who grow to eight to nine feet tall, averaging eight and a half feet tall. Tinies, Normies and Bigs are not distinct species at all, they can interbreed. Tiny mothers can have Big children, Big mothers can have Tiny children, and the same with Normies. It's just a matter of which genes are dominant, with about one in five humans being Tinies, one in five being Bigs, and three in five being Normies.

All three groups get along together fine, because of the interbreeding. Most families are a mix of Tinies, Normie's and Bigs to one extent or another, especially large families.

This, the protagonist Laura is a Tiny, has a Normie brother, a Tiny mother and a Big father. And the protagonist Gina is a Big, with a Normie brother (just a coincidence) and a Big father and a Tiny mother. Both families are happy and healthy and love one another (though Normie brothers can be annoying, whether you are a Big or a Little).

The fact that both Laura and Gina have Tiny mothers and Big fathers is not coincidence: by tradition from time immemorial, Bigs sexually enslave Tinies when they turn 18. It's not an ironclad thing: sometimes Tinies enslave Bigs and sometimes Normies enslave Bigs, etc. etc. But mostly Bigs enslave Tinies, because that's how most Corliandrans are wired. Literally, they are magically/instinctively compelled to do these things, and to love one another afterward. (God, fantasy makes character-building easy. Why do they do it? Magic!)

The excitement of the action in Corliandra depends on Laura and Gina's relationship, what kind of fun sexual things they get up to and how they respond to them. But there's also the Your Fantasies Unlimited action in the real world. It turns out that things that happen in the fantasy world of Corliandra have some effect in the real world, and gives me some fun playing off my real-world characters against their fantasy world counterparts.

I guess what I'm saying is, get this book, or rent it using Kindle Unlimited (for free, in essence). It's one of my best works ever.

In future posts, I want to talk about how the cover was built, and I also want to talk about how I cast the characters to give them their voice and look. In the meantime, here's da blurb:

Laura was by all accounts the feistiest and talkiest Tiny in her village in the magical land of Corliandra. (But she wasn't the tallest, she was just an average Tiny at 3'6” tall.) And Laura was SURE she would never turn into a simpering love slave like most of the other Tinies did when they turned 18. She would never fall for some beautiful nine foot tall Big, because being a Big's love slave was so wrong, even if everyone else, including her Tiny mother and Big father, assured her that it was so very, very right.

But Tinies, Normies and Bigs all wanted Laura as their love slave, because she had a curvaceous body that along with her passionate personality, set lust lights glimmering in their eyes.

Gina was a Big at 8'6” tall, and she was the most accomplished huntress and archer in the village, and also quite beautiful. She loved to listen to Laura talk (Laura was a great and frequent public speaker). She dreamed of the day she would collar Laura and listen to her talk for hours, generally after Laura had used her tongue in other ways. And unknown to Gina, Laura had eyes for her, perhaps because of the grace with which Gina moved, or her knowing half smile that hinted at a tantalizing world inside Gina's shy exterior.

When Gina makes her move on Laura after she turns 18, Laura discovers the magic of love. Finally, Laura know the joys of being a Tiny love slave, and Gina knows the joys of having a Tiny love slave. And these discoveries may Somehow lead Laura and Gina into a whole new world of erotic possibility, of lesbian bondage, public nudity, erotic dance and bondage orgies, which may Change Everything – even in the real world outside Corliandra!

This novelette is just over 21,000 words long, and is Book Two in the “Your Fantasies Unlimited” series.

WARNING: This books is infested with humor, has a pleasant and fun approach to sex and sexuality, and contains graphic sexual content of the sort that those who enjoy graphic sexual content will enjoy. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Ok, since you're a newbie to this stuff, I'll lay things out as best as I can.

If eye strain is a concern, go with eInk instead of LCD. You can get displays that have lighting built in (technically no backlit, but the average person has no clue about the technical differences between backlit, sidelit, and frontlit if the lighting is built into the display itself), but in any scenario where you don't need lighting for paper, you won't need it for eInk.

One reason I also recommend eInk over LCD, is that with a tablet you are too easily distracted by games, social media, and other things that take you out of reading. eReaders with eInk are typically dedicated devices that remove most distractions.

You won't get something that fully supports everything due to DRM. Amazon has their own proprietary form of DRM wrapped around the Mobi file format, and nearly everyone else uses ePub with Adobe ADEPT DRM. Apple uses ePub, but they have their own DRM that is proprietary, and just a pain in the butt (seriously, iBooks sucks). Now, Amazon has stipulations that restrict companies from supporting stuff for Kindle and any other DRM type, so you will find that things falls into the official Kindle camp, and everyone else with Adobe ADEPT. This is the one benefit to using an tablet with a LCD screen, because then you can run the Kindle app along side what ever you want for handling ePub (lots of different apps utilize the Adobe ADEPT toolkit).

Next, PDF is NOT an ebook format. It is a page layout format. You may wonder what the difference is, and that comes up where it makes it a pain to have a pleasantly viewable file if your display is smaller than what the file was designed for. This means zooming in and scrolling around a lot. Newer versions of the PDF format does support reflowable text, but it is extremely rare to see any files that actually make use of it. Seriously, avoid PDFs if you want to use a portable device. Nearly everything supports PDFs, but it is just not an enjoyable experience.

As I said before, you will have proper ebooks cater to the two different camps, with Mobi or azw files for Kindles, or ePubs for everyone else. If they are DRM free files, you can easily convert between the two formats using Calibre. PDFs also suck because they rarely can convert to another format cleanly. Seriously, use Calibre to help manage your ebook library. It is an awesome free, open source, and cross platform tool that supports nearly every eReader device out there.

Now, I am going to state this right now, because some people often cause confusion, but Calibre does not do much with DRM encumbered files on its own. It will organize them, and transfer them to your device, but you cannot convert them. There are third party plugins that remove the DRM automatically upon import, but that is something we cannot openly discuss here. It is against the rules, because publishers often monitor open forums, and will start issuing DMCA claims.

Ok, with everything said, it comes down to choice. If you want to just stay in one ecosystem and buy from one place that likely has everything, I'd suggest a Kindle Paperwhite. If DRM or third party ebook purchases are a concern, I'd recommend going with an ePub friendly reader, such as the B&N Nook Glowlight Plus, or one of the Kobo Aura readers.

If you have any questions, feel free to message me, and I can help as best as I can.

Hey Everyone!

I just finished and released my second novel in the Origo series called "Ghost". In celebration I am making "Ghost" FREE on the Amazon Kindle store for a limited time. It is part two of the Origo series. If you search for the book on Amazon, the easiest way to find it is to type in "Ghost Tucker French". It is a continuation of "Haven". For those of you who did not read "Haven", the premise of the first book was that Earth was unable to support itself and was slowly dying. Pollution and overpopulation has run rampant for decades and have caused irreparable damage to the planet. The first book focused on a select group of humans, who take it upon themselves to venture into space and look for a new home for the Human race.

"Ghost" picks up where "Haven" left off. Lieutenant Nicholas Snow and his squad are on Origo and are desperately looking for a way off the planet. Follow them through their journey as they face new obstacles on the foreign planet.

I hope those of you who do download "Ghost" enjoy the story as much as I did when I was writing it.

One thing that I do ask is that you please leave an honest review of the book on the Amazon page when you finish reading it. I would be extremely grateful! Even if you don't have time to read the book now, I still encourage you to download it and save it for later! Thank you all, and I hope you enjoy the book!

Yes, I find a new one to borrow each month. They don't make it too easy to find them, here's a hack for that. I've been able to borrow new titles that I would have either purchased or been on the waiting list at my public library. I have this sequel borrowed for August, my son and I are both enjoying the read. I've had most luck with finding the books I want to borrow by not looking specifically for them. I mean that in the course of my normal researching of books I might like to read next, I will often find that one of them is available through Prime for free. So I add those to my wish list. Then when the new calendar month rolls around I can choose from the list.

Several books by Charlie Stross, including TOAST (a short story collection), two of his novels, Accelerando, and Scratch Monkey, and several other short stories are available at his website in multiple formats.

Spinward Fringe: Origins by Randolph Lalonde is available from Amazon for free and is the beginning of a great sci-fi series that I couldn't stop reading until I made my way all the way through the entire published series. I can't wait for the next one!

Cory Doctorow I believe has a couple of free ebooks for download on his website, craphound.com - including Little Brother.

I'm sure there are others I've missed but those are all good and off the top of my head. Enjoy!

Thanks for your comment! I'm packaging photos up in a similar way to photobooks, like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lingerie-Modern-Guide-Lesley-Scott/dp/1408127547/ there's not much to read, it's more a case of look at the beautiful photos than read an article or review :)

I thought, perhaps mistakenly, that people would download ebooks, then view them when they didn't have wifi (travelling etc).

Maybe you're right and a view content system is more appropriate for my content! Thanks! That's eye opening! :)

Just one, but it's a beaut: Bradbury Stories: 100 of His Most Celebrated Tales. I bought it as a gift for my dad, so it's not even a duplicate for me.

u/Senacharim · 3 pointsr/ebooks

Any near-free second-hand Android phone or tablet can function as an e-reader. There are a few Samsung tablets which are about $100 and provide pretty decent performance for the price. I bought one of these when they were new for less and $120 and it's got surprisingly good performance--even today (as long as you can put up with Samsung's bad habit of making poor copies of all of the base Android software). I'd reccomend replacing the default launcher with something like the Nova Launcher.

Once you've selected your device, grab Cool Reader, Kindle for Android, and Challenger Viewer and between those 3 you can read pretty much every e-book format going.

Pros:

Cheap cheap cheap

All e-book formats, including pdf and cbz (comics), including the DRM'd kindle e-books.

Cons:

Battery life.

Setup time and learning to use the new software.

When you're done, if you have a few minutes, I would really appreciate reviews on Amazon. Even if you feel the need to 1-Star a book. Feedback is always helpful.

I hope you keep enjoying the series!

1.) Download Kindle app for iPad.

2.) Log into Kindle app with your Amazon account.

3.) Visit this page and click on "Start free trial now" and then select your iPad as the delivery option.

4.) Enjoy the free seven day trial of the book (while deciding whether to buy the Kindle or physical edition).

Also, you might want to clarify your information. You say you have both Pearson eTexts, are you referring to the ebooks? If so, why do you need to buy them if you already have them?

"Of Decency and Death“ achieves a top 100 Kindle ranking in its first week. If you have read Anne Frank you most certainly want to read the recently published book "Of Decency and Death.” by Dutch journalist and author Jan Burgers. Where Anne Frank offers a penetrating/devastating insight on the experience of hiding inside an 'achterhuis' in Amsterdam, the book "Of Decency and Death“ offers a ground level perspective on how it was on the outside. The book describes the German invasion and the amazing immediate first successful effort to save Jewish orphans. Then the fate of seven mayors, all in small towns in "van Gogh country' is followed, who risked their homes, families, and lives to try and protect their townspeople. The book follows the mayors as they end up in concentration camps, and the book follows families after the war who travel to Germany in a desperate effort to find loved ones. This book may well provide the best perspective on the experience of trying to survive the German concentration camps, and the utter randomness of death and survival in the final chaos of WWII.

Here are some of my favorites that you may enjoy. Some of these are split genre books (horror/suspense, sci-fi/police procedural, etc.), but they all fit in the general thriller genre, and are all really excellent books available through the Kindle store.
