You're unlikely to find Ecuadorian authors that write in English. The history of our country and its analysis from an academic standpoint generally only interests Ecuadorians. Consequently, books written by Ecuadorians are in Spanish, and they are not translated. I'm sorry but I don't know any books which you could read. I think you should find books in English regardless of the nationality of the author. These two books seem like a good start.
I really appreciate the fact that you are trying to learn and connect with your heritage. Being a history bluff I love it when people are eager to educate themselves. Don't mind the ruder replies. If you can understand and speak Spanish, you are already halfway to fluency. Reading it is actually easy since words are read the same as they are written. If you want to improve your written Spanish, we could practice together. After that, you could read books about Ecuador's history by Ecuadorians in Spanish.
One of my favorite subreddits is /r/AskHistorians. They have a very extensive book list that I used to buy books for my recent vacation to Ecuador, because I enjoy reading about the places I visit. There aren't any books in English specifically about Ecuador, but the one book you should read first in my humble opinion is Americanos. It is basically about the birth of Ecuador and all the other Latin American countries. It's a sweeping read, I thoroughly enjoyed it. You might think that the subject is a bit broad for your question and about a short time period, but it actually helped me understand your country (and continent) better when I was there.
This is my first post in this subreddit btw. Just got back from Ecuador and I always sub to the countries I visit. Thanks for having me, I had a great time in your country.
They do not have jelly beans here, which is insane. My Ecuadorian wife is also obsessed with this Mexican snack sold in the US called Takis. Ecuadorians LOVE them: https://www.amazon.com/Takis-Fuego-Pepper-Flavored-Snacks/dp/B00CQM23IC Also, Tabasco Cheese-its are always a hit. They sell peanut butter in the stores here along with things like Reeses and they prefer salty snacks so I would focus on those.
thanks for asking this. I havent thought of that yet. Found this: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Duos-II-International/dp/B00HWC05AY/ref=cm_wl_huc_item
It works in just about every country, including the US.
Of course. https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Gray-Joy/dp/B01MUAGZ49/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1539045195&sr=1-1&keywords=nintendo%2Bswitch&th=1
