28. Highway Traffic Supply | Stop Sign | Road & Street Sign | Controls Traffic | Engineer Grade | 3M Reflective Sheeting & Inks | Rust-Free Aluminum | Made in USA (24" x 24")

    Features:
  • EFFECTIVELY CONTROLS TRAFFIC: The STOP sign is a regulatory sign that is used when traffic is required to stop. Its easily recognizable red octagon shape with white border and large white letters lets drivers know at a glance when to stop in a parking lot, on private property, or on the roadway. If two lanes of traffic exist on an approach, at least one STOP sign should be visible to each lane of traffic.
  • DESIGNED TO LAST: This sign has been specifically designed for either indoor or outdoor use to meet all of your needs. In either condition, your sign is designed to last for 7 to 10 years, even with extreme hot or cold temperatures, due to our silkscreen process and 3M inks. This ensures roadway safety for years to come.
  • EASY MOUNTING: You don’t have to be a professional to mount this sign. Our STOP signs come with holes already drilled at the top and bottom center for easy mounting and simple installation, along with radius corners to ensure safety. Whether you wish to apply this sign to a pole or a stand, you won’t incur the expense and time that comes with having to use multiple sets of tools or labor forces.
  • AMERICAN MADE QUALITY: To ensure that our signs meet the highest of quality standards, we manufacture them right here in the United States. Our STOP sign is manufactured using high quality, durable 5052 aluminum and 3M engineer grade reflective. The aluminum we use is 80 mil thick and treated to resist any corrosion or dust, ensuring longevity. The sign construction specifications are rated by 3M to last for at least 7 years without fading.
  • LEADING MANUFACTURER: Since 1985, Highway Traffic Supply has been a leading manufacturer and seller of MUTCD compliant traffic safety signs and supplies (including federal and state specifications). Besides STOP signs, we manufacture signs for no parking, tow away, handicap, private community, security, surveillance, and more! We are proud to deliver high end products by exceeding industry standards and specifications, all while manufacturing in the United States.

Just thinking about how to do it myself. I understand my method is most likely not how this was done but I can see it working still..

  • Buy some of this stuff.
  • Check the size of the image you would like to print.
  • Buy some of these. in whatever size you'd like your image to be, maybe also grab an extra that is larger for a backplate.
  • Buy a set of these to use as a stand for the printed plates.
  • Grab something like this as a stand for the whole deal once done.
  • Open up Photoshop and follow this guide on how to separate the colour channels into their own images.
  • Print each channel to a separate piece of the Graphix film.
  • Cut out your printed image and apply each to their own acrylic square.
  • Take your larger square and drill two holes in it for the plate stands.
  • Take two of the standoffs and put them in backwards. (these are designed to have the long metal tube behind the display, however we want it on the front.
  • Remove two extra front covers (there are 20 standoffs and we only need 2) and then screw them onto the standoffs that we just put in backwards, essentially using the extra covers to dress up the front and cover the exposed bolt holes.
  • Place your colored plates on the backing like in the photo and rest it on the stand purchased earlier
  • In theory this should be complete now. I'm looking into buying the supplies and making one for a family member for christmas and if I do I'll post an update.

Yeah, I was just making a stupid joke.

As for the Islamic view of Genghis Khan, it depends on perspective. Genghis Khan was tolerant of Muslims and even sought after their intellectuals. But he also destroyed their populations. A lot of the estimates of the deaths caused by Genghis Khan's conquest are exaggerated, but that doesn't really affect the perception in much of the Muslim world. There are also a lot of dubious claims as to Genghis Khan's brutality.

It's true, from any perspective, that the Mongol conquest put an end to a long period of Muslim prosperity. Since the days of Mohammed, they had seen very few serious military losses. The common belief among Muslims prior to Genghis Khan was that their prosperity and military success was undeniable proof of the validity of their beliefs. They felt that Allah had blessed them with the ability to win battles and spread their religion. So Genghis Khan turned their world upside down.

All of my understanding of Genghis Khan and Muslim history come from Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World and Destiny Disrupted: A History of the World Through Islamic Eyes, both of which I highly recommend.

oh man, yeah i definitely wouldn't use vaseline then. Graphite is really easy to apply and it works its way into the cube just by playing with it. But then again, you don't usually need lube for any decent cube. I use these. https://www.amazon.com/Shengshou-White-Base-Core-Puzzle/dp/B00CG3A8UG/ref=sr_1_2?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1494170938&sr=1-2&keywords=shengshou+cubes

> Then they might contact a graphics shop or sign shop, and they may make one like this.

Stop signs are mostly standardized. You don't have some dude sitting there in design software drawing out letters. And it would surely be easier to just buy a sign than contact anyone.

I own a "water amplifying" showerhead that does this. Delta 75152. Makes the water jets feel more intense by rapidly jittering them around. It's pretty effective!

Funny, because I use a Shure M92E, which is red and black plastic, but also happens to be an excellent cartridge for the price range.

I've been fascinated by Celtic art since I first saw photos of the Book of Kells, Book of Durrow and the Lindisfarne Gospels many years ago.

I found this book that explains how these complex drawings were made. It's amazing how something so complex can be made with such simple methods.

The squat is so hot right now, but the deadlift is the most "functional" lift you can do.

Starting Strength is a great book for learning how to lift weights.

What he is using is a little foam Nerf boomerang. They are designed to be thrown indoors and cause relatively little damage. I had one as a kid, and as kids do, I did find a way to break things with it. But in teh hands of a trained astronaut I am sure they could safely use it somewhere like that.

Here's a similar kit on Amazon. http://www.amazon.ca/Pathfinders-Hydraulic-Machines-Platform-Excavator/dp/B00192MFDS this often gets posted crediting the kid for building it, definitely a cool toy though.

That's the easiest to digest 12 pages of viewable data I have available from either side of the arguement. I should have linked directly to the paper, not the host. Its literally the first thing that pops up on google when you type, "environmental effects of increased atmospheric carbon dioxide."

If you are having some trouble with insomnia, I encourage you to read "Unstoppable Global Warming" by Singer and Avery. I subsist on a diet of data and beer and I couldn't get more than 70% of the way through.

Looking through amazon prime day offers I've found this:
https://www.amazon.it/dp/B006QF3TW4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dEAjDbPXYCM9B

This in a large scale seems the best option to me.

Something like this would be better. A simple animation is about as convincing as a drawing of Jesus cradling a velociraptor. What students need to learn is how to question their beliefs and how to tell science from pseudoscience.

I bought this soap. It lasts for months. It's fantastic.
