having spent the last 3 years helping my mother with therapy, I'm VERY familiar with "the belt".

And honestly, I've never found it worthwhile. It's great if you are trying to assist someone that has some ability OR you're trying to GUIDE someone . Otherwise, you're not going to pull someone off the floor by a belt. Imagine if you initiate vomiting or put stress on their organs.

A belt is not going to help.

I'm a very strong guy. My mother is around 155 pounds. I can easily lift that weight off the ground. But pulling her up by a belt is out of the question.

I purchased this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003Z3VMFG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And it's wonderful. With the velcro I can snap it around her if she falls. It has a handle in the back so that I can actual lift her up on to her feet, like lifting a child by the back of their pants.

My mother has fallen to the floor several times. A belt would be worthless. I've adhered the velcro pants on, and pulled her up by the belt on the back. And was able to get her to her feet or back to a wheelchair.

Ideally, if there were something to grab a hold of on their torso would be great. Those belts are only valuable if the patient has some ability to assist you.

Purchase one or two of the washable mattresses protectors. They come in a variety of sizes and stay in place well.

I use resolve spray for pet stains Squirt it on there, blot up with a damp rag, no smell no mark.

They make incontenence briefs that look like real briefs if that would help.
