I went with that. But that’s cause the cheapness will get a laugh out of these people. There’s so many options if you search amazon for trophies and medals.
I started playing because I discovered the joy of football and wanted to get into it, and I figured fantasy would be a great way to learn about the sport/players/teams. It is. I've only been watching football for real for 3 full seasons, and I already know a lot about the sport. Obviously not compared to most or /r/nfl, but more than most people. So I'd say just jump right in.
One thing that was helpful during my first season was watching games with my roommate who knows a ton about football. We actually had free NFL Sunday Ticket at our place (for some reason, our landlord could add a second house onto his subscription? no idea but we didn't press the issue), so we'd sit there all Sunday and he'd explain things to me.
I've heard this book is great for learning more but I haven't gotten around to it.
Oh, also, when I first got into football (end of 2011 season), my friend played Madden with me and would explain things. That helped a ton. Before that I didn't really understand football. I knew about downs and stuff but nothing about the strategy, so playing Madden was really what made it click and that's when I fell in love with football. Actually, I just decided I'm going to pick up an Xbox so I can start playing Madden for real to get deeper into knowledge of routes and strategy, I feel like I've hit a wall based on what I learn watching games and reading about the game. I'm a girl so I never played football growing up except for just fucking around.
3 years later, I "have a football problem" according to my friends. And it's kind of crazy how much I've picked up in a short amount of time, but mostly that is because of fantasy.
Various methods. I wear compression underwear (especially in the cold) something like the Nike pro leggings you see NBA players wear that go all the way down to the ankle like these. Now, when you are sneaking something in you want to make sure it is under your balls in the gooch area. That is generally the only area that doesn't get patted down for obvious reasons. Works best with airplane shooters, 1/4 pints, 1/2 pints. Comfort level in line is about a 2/10 and sometimes stuff slides up your ass crack, but nonetheless, it does work.
Another option is to get something that has a pocket for a cup in the front, like baseball sliders. You slip whatever the desired beverage is in the pocket and proceed through unnoticed. Works best with pint-sized bottles. Comfort level is much higher with this method.
If you really want to go overboard with it you can order these and bring your in your alcohol in plain sight.
When it is super cold and you are all layered up in winter clothing you can easily just utilize hidden pockets on jackets. They pat you down but not that heavy and typically won't feel it. I have also literally put a flask/pint-sized bottle into my hat (like a winter hat) with all my other shit on top of it and just went walking on past them.
The glory of it all is, you are sneaking in alcohol, not drugs. If you get caught its just kind of a slap on the wrist and they take your booze, but they have yet to catch me.
I've never bought a kit. If you have the patience and don't want to spend a lot of money, I would suggest buying a board, label it, and using adhesive postage labels to make the live picks.
For me, talking shit always makes draft night more fun. Make fun of your leaguemates' picks, teams, etc.
You could also make the lowest scoring or last place team from last year wear something embarrassing. A stupid hat, or make them come overdressed (wear a suit and tie).
Drinking games. We always have a drinking game going in one of my drafts, which makes it fun. I'm a Bears fan, so I have to drink every time a bears player is picked (the Raiders fan has to drink when Raiders players are picked up, etc). Finish your drink when you pick your QB/DEF/K. If you have to be reminded it's your pick you have to drink. If everyone agrees you reached on a player you have to drink. (Just make sure you have designated drivers)
Wear jerseys if you have them, anything to make the atmosphere a little better.
Hope some of this helped. I love to see fans that aren't from the US! Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.
Buy this: https://www.amazon.com/Bingo-Lotto-Game-Set-Commonwealth/dp/B00FY2S5CE/ref=sr_1_8?s=toys-and-games&rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1526478445&sr=1-8&keywords=bingo&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011.
To balance the competitive nature of the league (let's assume 10 team league) the worst team in the league gets 1 ball, 9th worst gets 2 etc. Then do a draft lottery picks 10 to 1, any repeats just pick until a new team comes up.
You could also add variations, such as the lottery winner picks where they pick, 2nd chooses the remaining open draft spots, last gets the only spot remaining. You could also hold a competition (like the triple crown idea) and the winner gets highest odds (1 ball) in the draft lottery.
As an NBA fan I think it's one of the most fun differentiations that they have from other professional leagues so I think it'd be a good addition to FF.
Love Cook this year with the Saints! Has the potential to be a massive difference maker opposite Thomas! Brees hasn’t had a viable TE since Jimmy left and we could see a large target share come his way....
There is a great breakdown of all players in this link!

I believe this is the one that we are using this year. We are also using a laptop w/projector to keep the CBS Fantasy info on the wall. Good luck and remember to try to keep people involved the best you can!

Check out his book if you can. It's very well written and has some great laughs in it.
The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.
Grant yourself a favor - walk with Childe Roland for a spell do it please ya :)
You should read "Scorecasting." It's a really cool book that is comparable to Freakonomics from a sports standpoint.
Here's a blurb about home field advantage.
Basically, the authors think that Home Field Advantage seems to come from referee bias and not that the crowd makes the players play better. That said, I don't know what happened to the Jets that weekend, but I see it as more of an anomaly and would be comfortable starting Asiata, McKinnon to a lesser degree.
A Gronking to Remember
I have Gronk, and it's based on the Gronk fan erotica: http://www.amazon.com/Gronking-Remember-Gronkowski-Erotica-Series/dp/150585766X
If I win the championship, I'm sending a copy of the book to the loser's house.
Winner of my league wins this.
We bought this a couple years back- it's nice- company was easy to work with and they engraved like 9 plates for the included price

I usually get the ones from UPI Marketing, this is this year's.
https://www.amazon.com/Officially-Licensed-Fantasy-Football-Draft/dp/B0722V2LYP/ref=pd_sbs_200_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0722V2LYP&pd_rd_r=S4E4300DB2XCTFGN6QFV&pd_rd_w=Mneyn&pd_rd_wg=wwl7V&psc=1&refRID=S4E4300DB2XCTFGN6QFV
I usually leave it hanging in my living room wall throughout the season. It's a good conversation piece when people come over haha. But yeah, I'm just not digging this year's generic design.
In the Berry's book Fantasy Life there's a story about MJD not being able to draft himself in a NFL fantasy league.
MJD ends up having a great year. So he's trying to get himself back from Matt Forte.
The quote is something like "When you going to trade me to me?" and Forte's response is "Never. I'm going to beat you with you."
You gotta wait at least until the Cards play a few games first. There is no guarantee that DJ is even the starter. He showed flashes all year but still didn't get the job until both CJ and AE went down. We can agree to disagree. If you are an amazon prime member you should watch:
https://www.amazon.com/All-Nothing-Arizona-Cardinals-Unrated/dp/B01GF3WPU8
DJ makes appearences throughout. It is pretty much hard knocks
That single injection really helped me. You also should buy a foot roller. I have this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SMJIYNG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Doing this daily did wonders. Good luck!
Never Split the Difference was pretty good. The author, Chris Voss, was the FBI's chief international hostage and kidnapping negotiator.

I know his advice is lacking sometimes but its a fun read.

Got it engraved for the last 4 years for about $12. Love it
I got into FF about 30 years ago. The first source of information that I found was Fantasy Football Digest 19xx. by Cliff Charpentier. https://www.amazon.com/Fantasy-Football-Digest-87-Cliff-Charpentier/dp/0822599546 It is a softback book about an inch thick. Cliff did not last long in the business - he overvalued older player!
Taking steroids doesnt make you invincible. You still need time to heal injuries, and overworking the muscle will injure it again.
And we dont know what Jeffery took. It might have been anabolic steroids, it could have been HGH, it could have been a stimulant like Ephedrine.
Hell, it could have been something like Animal Pak https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Nutrition-Animal-Multivitamin-Supplement/dp/B000GOT54C?th=1 (it used to be banned in the NFL), which is sold as a multivitamin - you dont need a prescription, you dont need to be 18, and youll find it overpriced at your local GNC. Or Sudafed, which the NFL requires you to get a prescription from NFL medical personnel before taking, even though its over-the-counter cold medicine.
And click this link for the NFLPA - https://www.nflpa.com/active-players/drug-policies. Right up top there is a warning - a EZ Weight Loss products have been found to be contaminated with a substance banned by the NFL. So if a player asked their NFL-endorsed trainer if they could take the product, the trainer knowing all the rules looked at the product, determined that it was fine, but then later its found that the product was contaminated and you just tested positive for PED, and you get treated as if you took anabolic steroids.
I guess thats my long way of saying just because Jeffrey failed a PED test doesnt mean his hamstrings are invincible.
Amazon maybe.. Something like this http://www.amazon.com/2014-Official-Fantasy-Football-Draft/dp/B00KCFAHDI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408641094&sr=8-1&keywords=draft+board
https://www.amazon.com/J-Valentine-Womens-Light-Up-Lights/dp/B01ESHIFEI?th=1 thats the one we chose lol
We went with the official NFL draft board this year available on Amazon for 2 day shipping if you have Prime.
He can Gronk with one lung, but it won't be a Gronking to remember.
