I'm convinced the Rhythm+ is working great and with movement as well. Here's the review I mentioned above. Amazon reviews are positive as well.

Now I hope the Fitbit HR and Surge yield similar results with it's HRM!

That's a great device. I have a coworker who purchased one for his wife and she loves it. A similar device is the TomTom Touch, which is a little cheaper.

Either one would be a fabulous tracker for you. I like my Garmin :)

Before giving my opinions, I would say go for a metal band.

My original Alta band began separating shortly after I got it. I thought nothing of it until it got obvious. And it seemed like it was a magnet for dead skin/soap residue and smelled horrible. It was a lost cause after 3 months.

So I got a 3rd party silicone band from Henoda. It lasted for about 6 months before the silicone holding the tracker in place gave up. It didn't hold onto residue as much and I didn't need to clean it and the tracker nearly as much. It had about the same amount of comfort as the original.

Currently using this metal band from Swees. It's the closest thing to perfection for me. It's a Milanese loop band which comes undone very easily which isn't a bad thing for me. It means I don't have to take it off when washing my hands to keep water from getting stuck underneath. No bad odor from residue and my wrist looks like it's not diseased for the first time in like 3 years. It's probably most likely due to the mesh design, but that's just a bonus. Also since it's metal, the tracker seems really secure. I dunno how springs holding the tracker will hold, but I feel it's going to last much better than the silicone bands.

Good battery life

Reliable and accurate

Not the best looking

Annoying charging lead

The Polar M430 has a lot of things going for it, including GPS, a heart rate monitor and sleep tracking skills, along with good battery life. For the most part it’s also reliable and accurate, which is something not all fitness trackers can claim.

The M430 is designed primarily for runners, and can monitor the likes of your pace, distance, speed and cadence, but with all of the above, plus daily general activity tracking, it’s a strong choice for tracking most kinds of exercise and activity.

Given all the tech packed in, the Polar M430 also has a reasonable price tag. It’s not the best-looking fitness tracker, but it’s comfortable and functional.

Yes, you should wear it when you work out. The Flex won't do anything fancy like track your heart rate, but you will get steps. Just keep in mind, it works when you swing your arm so if you are on a bike, you won't get steps in. They do sell shoe clips to hold the Flex as well as stretchy bands that may fit around your ankle to remedy this. I wear mine around my ankle most of the time since I find it more comfortable and accurate.

I use this: http://www.amazon.com/Griffin-Silver-Wristband-Fitness-Trackers/dp/B00L1G4MG0/ref=pd_sim_468_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=41ItdC2KN9L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1VG5R9Q83JZTGPQWKRQ0

Do you just want to protect the screen or the overall watch face?

I got these to protect the whole watch face and absolutely love them. My protector screen is certainly a bit dinged up but my watch is in perfect condition.

I think you'd be better off with a Garmin running watch. They have built in gps and can show your running pace and all kinds of useful information along with stop watch and pretty much anything a runner could need. I have the charge 2 and so far the only features I'm finding useful are heart rate and sleep tracking and breathing exercise.

I have a combo screen protector/case: https://www.amazon.com/EZCO-Compatible-Fitbit-Protector-All-Around/dp/B07HFW8WD2/

I'm happy with it. I'm not sure it's quite as much protection from hard impacts as the glass ones, but I've been using it several months with no issues. Very easy to take on and off for charging/cleaning, or there's a charger that will work with it on.

I've also heard of people using it over a glass screen protector, which would help keep the glass in place. Best of both worlds, but I do wonder what it would do to the responsiveness.

I took a chance on [this frame] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EV1PYCW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it works perfectly! The Blaze fits well and the buttons work great!

I also bought this charger and it's identical to the one I got with the Blaze. I keep it at work in case it needs a charge.

Haha well I'm on Reddit just about every day so the odds are in your favor.

Here's a link to the Amazon product page:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K982CPS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1

I have the plain black as well as the light brown. They are genuine leather and you can use leather polish or wax on them to maintain their finishes. The black has held up better than the brown, but they both have aged well over the past 4 months. I switch between them.

Hope this helps!

I use these Apple Watch Sport style bands, I wonder if they would breakaway? You could try researching Apple Watch users’ experience with them. Plus they are super comfortable - I love not having a clasp.

u/_jorge__ · 2 pointsr/fitbit

I think these silicone bands are amazing. I bought two when I had my versa. They're so comfortable and perfect for a regular day where you know you'll end up working out later.

I also have the special edition with charcoal band and love it (and am female). The fabric band is so comfortable. Do not care for the rose gold, but love purple! So I ordered an extra purple band from Amazon. Check out the promotions on this one as well. I got 2 extra chargers and a lighter Gray band for a very low cost!

> If I say, select a night and then go back, it'll add duplicates of nights already tracked.

Yep, I get this! Normally it's duplicated in a way so that if I scroll down to my first sleep record, underneath that will be my latest sleep record and an entire duplicated history. This morning though, I had double-ups of every day in pairs together in my history. Weird!

I used to have massive trouble with falling asleep and getting good quality sleep- I've found that a before-bed routine of a) Cold showering, b) magnesium and c) meditation, does wonders for my quality of sleep. Give it a shot and see if yours improves!

The official dark brown leather band looks quite nice, I'll probably be getting it once they're out. Someone linked to a great looking sports one from Amazon on here this week, so many colours to choose from...

Really you can use any color combo you think will look good though! Also the pink is more of a salmon in person.

u/DDCherryB · 1 pointr/fitbit

Get this. I love mine. I started with a wrist strap, didn't get actuate data, switched to a shoe strap but I take off my shoes at home and at work so I lost a lot of steps.

This is perfect and amazing and solves all those problems. If you ate worried about it falling out(I'm not) just put a safety pin on the entrance where the tracker goes.

Actually the off brand bands I've had for it have been pretty awesome. POY Replacement Bands Compatible for Fitbit Charge 2, Classic & Special Edition Sport Wristbands, Small Black, 1PC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076Z8VN95/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0El2CbNKQZSPR

I do it at the gym and I have found that wireless headphones are hugely helpful if you aren't already using them. I stand in front of a mirror and place my phone at my feet in front of me and glance down at it to see what I'm supposed to be doing.

Edit: I use these ones. They were like 38$ and work great.

u/ValorousVelociraptor · 3 pointsr/fitbit

Got the black one since reviews mentioned the printing flakes off on the patterned ones. Looks pretty good and allows for charging without being removed.

We both use Charge 2s with bluetooth headsets and Google Nexus 6s. Close to zero problems with the tether between the Fitbit and the phone, but listening to music can be problematic if the phone is too far away, my theory is that the combined bandwidth lower the effective range of the Bluetooth in this particular phone. The solution is to carry the phone on a chest pocket if running with a jacket, or on a waist belt. If we are wearing thick clothes then the phone can't be buried too deep or it'll lose the audio stream (as far as I can tell it doesn't lose the Fitbit).

Except for what I outlined above, zero issues. About once a week or so I'll start a walk/run and the Fitbit wouldn't acknowledge that it has the GPS tether up, in that case it usually means the phone app hung up. Force quitting it helps every time.
