My opinion is that Gap leggings are the best, but Old Navy are a close runner up and less than 1/2 the price, so I go for those. I wore under bump until about 18 weeks and then switched to full panel, but it's all personal preference.

I went with these sports bras, and am loving them. I started at a 32DDD and am now a 34-36G and they still fit fine. Lots of support and still give some shape.

I love these tanks, which are not technically maternity, but have a great amount of stretch. I wear one as an undershirt every day and then wear it to the gym after work so it minimizes my laundry too, lol! I'm 30 weeks right now and they still fit fine, should last my whole pregnancy.

The one they have on Zulily goes up to a 40 D, but there are styles online that go up higher cup sizes. I love shopping for sports bras at Title Nine, they have a lot for larger sizes that actually support.

This one from title nine goes up to a 40 E:

Moving comfort on Amazon goes up to a 44DD:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00YE15LB4/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499868125&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=sports+bra+moving+comfort&dpPl=1&dpID=41eGV-3oJHL&ref=plSrch

I actually loved a knockoff sports bra on Amazon from the brand La Isla but it looks like they don't sell it any more. I've also found Under Armour bras that zip up the middle great on support and ok for breastfeeding but their stuff rotates out of selling after a year or 2.

Yup -- it's true. If we don't take the vitamins, baby will still draw what baby needs from our bodies. I didn't get GD or have any complications (and honestly had a relatively easy delivery; relative to the stories I've heard) -- most of my cravings came in the form of ice cream or pasta, I looked at it as 'more calcium, please!' haha.

Regarding the research -- this book "Expecting Better" (which I found out about in a comment on Reddit actually) -- http://amzn.to/2yksmeK explained all the current research and lets you make decisions for yourself. I didn't gain "too little" or "too much" -- right in the range of "appropriate" -- but I did worry initially when I was gaining very little weight, because though I wanted to stay fit, I also wanted what's best for the baby. I think baby did just fine with what I did (and the weight fell right off postpartum -- I'm already 20 lbs down). So, pros and cons on both sides, up to us to decide what works for our own lifestyles and choices :)

Whatever choice you make is the right one. Congrats and wishes for a good delivery!

Just want to second u/jaynkier's advice here, which is spot on! Two prenatal workouts that I really like (that are intermediate level and have weight/dumbbell options) are: Leah Sarago's fit and sleek (https://www.amazon.com/Prenatal-Physique-Complete-Pregnancy-Training/dp/B00JJSDPBA) and Suzanne Bowen's BarreAmped sleek and toned (https://www.amazon.com/BarreAmped-Sleek-Toned-Prenatal-Workout/dp/B00SCJ56HI/)—this one is a bit light on core work, so I supp. with exercises like planks and side planks. Hope this helps and good luck!!

I have found Fit and Healthy Pregnancy by Kristina Pinto to be pretty good overall. They say to avoid back stroke while swimming which I don't agree with since gravity doesn't pull baby onto vena cava like on land, but otherwise their recommendations seem good. https://www.amazon.com/Fit-Healthy-Pregnancy-Strong-Shape-ebook/dp/B00FGDGHFI

Edit: This book is definitely geared to athletes and active non-competitive people. It talks a lot about how to maintain or tone down your existing routines, with not much focus on new-to-fitness people.

i LOVE love love love love love my Burley Solstice, but I dont think they make it anymore, which is a complete shame. The storage underneath the stroller alone makes it wonderful, and it's got tons of pockets and a huge canopy. It's a shame; it's my favorite of the 3 strollers I own (Uppababy umbrella & City Mini GT)

Take it easy. I could barely run my first trimester. I’m 13+1 today and ran 2 miles for the first time in a while last week. I was still tired. This weekend I finally feel like I have some energy again and hiked 9 miles yesterday and 7 today. The first 11 weeks or so I took a lot of walks.

I was lucky and didn’t have much nausea, but when I did, I usually had to eat or I’d pop a preggie pop

Good luck and be nice to yourself!

I have one after any workout (usually a run) longer than 45 minutes. It helps me not get so hungry while I'm making dinner after I get back from my workouts! :) I really like Tera's Whey (the sweetener is stevia, overall sugar is < 2g, protein is 20g) with a coconut/almond milk blend as the base. I think you can use water, but it's creamier with some sort of milk or milk alternative, which I like better, myself. Amazon's price is pretty high (I usually find it in my local grocery for < $20), but link is here! I think you get ~24 shakes out of it? So it comes out to < $1 per shake in the end.

The book Real Food for Pregnancy: The Science and Wisdom of Optimal Prenatal Nutrition https://www.amazon.com/dp/0986295043/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Gma6CbCK8ZJZ4

This really explains all the nutrients that are so important for your growing babe and why. It was easier for me to eat healthy after reading how important real foods nutrients were.

Yeah! I love them. Prior to pregnancy I always got the high waisted version. But they were t comfortable for me after because of being so freaking short. I’ll see if I can find the link on Amazon because there was one style that wasn’t squat proof.

Edit: this is the style I always get

There are full length options as well and a ton of colors.

This may not be what you meant, but there is a sports bra on Amazon that has adjustable Velcro straps. It is not actually a nursing bra, but is perfect for a nursing mama who needs additional support when working out! I will look for the link.

Edit: Found it! SYROKAN Women's Front Adjustable Lightly Padded Racerback High Impact Sports Bra: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M2DI9R6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FdmbBbJ82BGYK

I read Exercising Through Your Pregnancy finally and have been feeling really inspired to keep up my workouts!

My runs are starting to feel better again! I am at 24 weeks now. It was great until about 20 weeks, then I had a phase where the round ligament pain made me want to cry during runs. Now I'm back to running 3 miles without pain, and I ran 3 times this week.

I also played tennis twice, went to barre once, and prenatal yoga once.

My goal next week is to run 3 times (3 miles), play tennis 3 times, and hit prenatal yoga twice.

I've got several pairs of loose fitting Champion shorts. These ones -> http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008HAS8IG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage. I have both the medium and the large and I think the large would work under my belly through the rest of the pregnancy. But they do bunch up a bit while I run and I think for longer runs, my thighs would chafe a bit.

I think I'll try the 7" tight shorts I mentioned in my other reply and the Champion shorts I already have and see if either of those are comfortable for longer distances. And if not, I'll try the Tracker shorts.

I highly recommend reading Expecting Better, as the author looks at the actual scientific evidence behind most common pregnancy do's and don'ts.

The summary of her section on coffee says:

> In moderation, coffee is fine.

> All evidence supports having up to 2 cups daily.

> Much of the evidence supports having 3 to 4 cups.

> Evidence on more than 4 cups a day is mixed; some links are seen with miscarriage, but it is possible that they are all due to the effects of nausea.

Personally, I have a large travel mug of strong black coffee every morning.

This has been super awesome during my pregnancy https://www.amazon.com/321-STRONG-Spike-Massage-Ball/dp/B01LBEFU62/

I use it every morning when I brush my teeth.

u/prynncamm · 3 pointsr/fitpregnancy

Absolutely! Hopefully this link works 😬

I tried to find one that wasn’t bulky or hot and this one had good reviews.

While I don't follow this advice, since I'm pretty sure it's been out of date for almost 20 years, I did notice something interesting. My running has naturally slowed since I've gotten pregnant. A few times, in the middle of a run, I've stopped to take my pulse, just out of curiosity. Every time, it's between 140 and 150. It's almost as though my body is slowing to a pace where my heart only needs to hit that particular rate. So maybe there's something to the idea that your heartrate shouldn't exceed 140 in pregnancy, but at least for me it seems as though my body is preventing it without my input.

If you want some evidence, particularly for cardio, read James Clapp's Exercising Through Your Pregnancy

Will do!
I did see a positive review for this one and it’s affordable so I was thinking of trying this one out. Will report back if I do!

I take these.. I wouldn't say they give nearly the same boost as a pre-workout, but I'll drink one if I'm feeling an afternoon slump coming on! https://www.amazon.com/PREMAMA-Prenatal-Gluten-Free-Vegetarian-Watermelon/dp/B071VP6XPS
