For the ice cream base:

  • 5-8 egg yolks, for date ice cream, I use 5. For regular vanilla I use 6.

  • 2 cups of Heavy cream

  • 1 cup of whole milk

  • 2/3 cup of sugar

  • A pinch of fine salt. I use the morton brand fine sea salt, but if you can't find it, you can always put salt in a grinder.

  • 2 vanilla beans

I like the balance of this recipe, but my best friend loves super dense super rich ice cream. When I make batches for him, I use 8 egg yolks, 2 1/2 cups heavy cream, and 1/2 cup of milk. Tinker with the ratios to fit your taste.

I also use honey instead of sugar for his ice cream, because it makes him happy. I've been asked about using date sugar for this specific ice cream, but since I haven't gotten my hands on it, I can't speak for how much to substitute.

    How to make it:

Scrape the vanilla beans and put the scraped flesh and pods into a saucepan with the cream, sugar, salt, and milk. Simmer the mixture until all the sugar is dissolved. Don't boil, simmer.

Whisk the egg yolks in a bowl and slowly whisk in some of the hot cream mixture. Don't do it too fast, you don't want to curdle the eggs. Then whisk the egg-cream mixture back into the rest of the cream mixture in the pan. Cook the mixture until it coats a wooden spoon. It should be fairly thick. If you draw a line with your finger on the spoon, the mixture should stay separate. Like this

If you did everything well, you shouldn't have clumps. If you have clumps, you'll get better after making it a few times. Strain in through a fine mesh sieve and let it cool. Once it's cool, put it in the fridge to get cold. I usually cook at night, so I just leave it in the fridge overnight.

I used to have this ice cream maker before someone stole it. :( It was a gift. I couldn't afford a new one, so I got this. It's adequate. The bowl needs to be pre-frozen for 48 hours, though I do it for 4 days. It's important to keep it straight so it freezes evenly. You pour the mixture in, and 20 mins later, done. You now have soft serve vanilla ice cream.

    The dates:

I puree 15 dates in the vitamix, after making sure there are no pits. I chop 5 dates so that there are nice little chunks here and there.

I try to buy moist dates, but if they aren't moist, I sometimes add a few tsp of water or bourbon while pureeing.

Now all you do is swirl it into the ice cream, and put it in the freezer to get hard. Some people like soft serve, I like mine hard and slow melting.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

In addition to following the instructions on the website, please put "reddit" somewhere in the comments box.

Last time we had the free sample page up it went from reddit to various twitter handles and deal sites and things quickly got out of control. But we're really mostly just interested in giving away samples to users here that actually want the product - so please flag your submissions with "reddit" so that i can search for that on the back end and send samples to as many of you as possible.

edit: and for the first few of you that likely replied before seeing this - i'll get them out to you too as long as the other instructions were followed.

edit 2: as /u/Scattered_Castles pointed out, the code LIQUID40 is not live yet The code LIQUID40 (which you'll see in the sample form confirmation email) is now live and is good for 40% your first order of off the full size bottle at amazon). It will be kept open in perpetuity so even if you get your sample in a month and then want to buy, it should still be working (PM me if it doesn't).

edit 3: already at a few hundred sample requests so just want to temper expectations (i'm shipping these myself, so it's going to be a while). i know this is /r/freebies and the 100% free deal IS still open (and i'm planning to work through all of the qualifying requests), but i do want to highlight that if you want a guaranteed sample quickly, you can do so by purchasing either the $2.50 or $5 pack (14 or 30 pills, respectively).

edit 4: some of you should have started receiving shipment confirmation emails! Free sample requests continue to increase, so i'd highlight edit 3 one more time (also shoutout to /u/jasgor9) for what to do if you're only seeing this now and are very interested in trying the product.

edit 5: I've been shipping samples but i've stopped sending out emails to let people know they are on the way - it just takes up time that could be spent sending out more samples yet. Also, as of today, the form is still open, the list is now at ~4,000 people - so it's probably better to consider the free samples more closed than open at this point. I'm still going through new submissions and will send some out, but chances at this point are low. People that correctly filled out the form early, and those who correctly filled it out and mentioned "reddit" will be the likeliest to be getting free samples over the coming days/weeks. (anyone that paid for a sample is obviously getting one).

Some years ago, I wrote a screenplay for a short film about a cursed Aztec sword that was found by a Young man in modern times, and he fought against all kind of monsters and creatures from Mexican folklore and mythology.

This was never filmed, but we took a lot of conceptual pictures, and some friends made a few drawings, we even build a real black macuahuitl.

Using this old drawings (with the approval of the friends who drew it), I finished the prologue of the story, in storybook form. It’s a very short story, and I made it bilingual, so people who knows english or spanish are able to read it.

It has 16 pages with drawings, but the digital version will be free until tuesday, so, if someone wants to download it, I’ll add the links on Amazon Mexico and Amazon US (It's free in every marketplace).

Thank you for taking the time to read this, downloading it, and giving me your opinion.

I also want to add that there's a tangerine flavor (found some at my local Wegmans). I finally got a chance to try it and personally I wasn't a huge fan of the taste. I was expecting the mango one to taste sweet, which it did... but it also had a mediciney/bitter aftertaste.

However I will say that it knocked me out pretty good after I finished the whole bottle. Normally I'm very skeptical about these types of drinks and the effect they have. It could've just been a fluke but I genuinely felt tired and sleepy 15-20 minutes afterwards. Either way it's free and it's worth a shot.

I've been told that Neuro Bliss is the one to go for if you're looking for good taste. Apparently it helps you relax, and would probably have a similar effect.

Silicone lube is great for condoms; while the condom company may not test it (and some often do; a lot of the pre-lubed condoms actually come with silicone lube), the lubricant company certainly will (otherwise, their labeling on the package that says "Safe for use with latex condoms" would get them sued all to hell as soon as a rubber failed).

They're also great for toys, so long as your toy isn't also made of silicone. That $150 bad dragon dildo? Not gonna work out. That $20 jelly dick from the sex store down the street? It'll be fine (but I'd still recommend you wrap it up in a condom, the plasticizers used to make gel toys are scary and can off gas for a long time). I've seen some people recommend wrapping silicone toys in condoms, and that makes them safe with silicone lube, but I'd be super cautious about that.

As a side note to /u/travisthemonkey: I really don't know if I would recommend silicone lubes for anal sex. A lot of people swear by it, but I'm not personally a fan. Water-based lubes tend to feel more slick and slippery, which is great for the bottom but some tops don't enjoy it as well. Conversely, silicone lubes feel a little more frictiony, so the top may enjoy it more but the bottom won't.

In any case, I really don't recommend Astroglide for anal sex. I find it to be a bit too runny and it doesn't really work out too well if it doesn't stay where you put it. I prefer a product called J-Lube, which seems odd but it's been used for years. We pre-mix it in batches of 8oz or so (which takes a ridiculously small amount of powder) and it lasts for about a month or so.

There is a space under the top of the roof for ventilation, but the bottom part is solid and covers the bars. Also, unlike with frames in a Langstroth hive, the top bars sit flush against each other, forming a tight seal (Photo). The roof provides added protection from the sun and rain.

If you're interested in top-bar hives, I highly recommend "Top-Bar Beekeeping: Organic Practices for Honeybee Health" by Les Crowder and Heather Harrell, and "The Thinking Beekeeper: A Guide to Natural Beekeeping in Top Bar Hives" by Christy Hemenway. Backyardhive.com has a great DVD on top-bar hive management.

If you can find it locally, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul is a quality food for the buck. Not grain free, but much better quality than purina or the like. Ridiculous name though... In the NW I can find it at Mini Pet Mart a bit cheaper than amazon, right around $1 per pound in a larger bag. Haven't compared prices to grocery store brands but at least for amazon prices, that's cheaper than or right in line with purina depending on what you pick.

I also find Taste of the Wild pretty affordable locally. It's a grain free dog food and is not terribly expensive here, though might be getting out of the purina range. I have a small dog so I just buy a 5lb bag which costs me about $12 (lasts me 3 weeks). Amazon has 30lb bags for $44 which is about $1.50 a lb, but it's a bit cheaper locally for me. Not sure how that compares to purina though.

Yes! It used to be a lot better with freebies, then for two years or so there was nothing worthwhile. It's coming back around to more freebies, though.

I've gotten a case of chocolate covered pretzels, an 8-lb frozen turkey (they actually delivered a turkey; not just a coupon for one), a Sonicare toothbrush, coupons for free booze, and this year they're sending out a lot of cleaning products. I was really active on the site back when you could turn your points in on the site for freebies from them (instead of at MyPoints, which is kind of shitty in comparison). For the most part everything's free, but I got a clothes steaming closet thing for about half what you'd normally pay for it. I still use it.

Earlier this year I filled out a survey about cleaning products and they sent me a box of Johnson & Johnson cleaning products. Full-sized containers, not sample sized. Pledge, Scrubbing Bubbles, this gel stuff you put in your toilet bowl to keep it clean, etc.

Plus I've gotten lots of free food. I'm at a level where I get invited to campaigns before most of the rest of the agents do, and it was a lot of survey filling and buzz reporting, but it's worth it.

Just a heads up: I don't wanna spoil the fun, but be aware that these look exactly like a pair of dollar store earbuds I was given a while back. The sound quality was a lot like listening to dubstep from a phone speaker in a tunnel.

Unfortunately, I think this is probably the reason they're free... I hope not, but it seems likely.

If you do wanna pick up good earbuds, though, you can actually do it nowadays without spending a whole bunch. I recommend checking out r/headphones for more info, but I picked these up for $12 a year ago and haven't been disappointed.

My friend Rich did something like this (more generally, not specifically asking for free stuff) and ended up putting it all together in a book.

The best story is when he got some of those sort of caramel candies that have a white creamy filling in the middle but which had no creamy filling and wrote to the company about it, they sent him something like 5 pounds of the filling, just in case it happened again.

Though I just found a video from way back when, him reading a great letter and response (free concert tickets!) to Tweeter.

LOL I totally thought that food processor USB one was a legit USB-powered food processor. Looks like it's probably this thing. Looks neat though.

Hold up a sec, the Cuisinart flash drive one looks like you have to register $150 worth of Cuisinart items for it to happen:

>Receive a free food processor-shaped USB Flash Drive when you register for
$150 worth of Cuisinart® products at Sur La Table.

If you use it at all frequently, buy an electric one. I have this from Amazon, I've seen it as cheap as $40.

It's 100x stronger than compressed air, and since it's effectively free to use, you can use it all around the house to help dust or otherwise clean things. 100/10 would recommend.
