You can buy a really good leather reclining sectional starting at around $4k on each side of the sectional for an L-shape sectional. And that's for power recline with top grain leather where you sit and PU on the sides and back. Anything lower than that for similar items, the sectional is either on clearance or the manufacturer has cut some corners on the material.

Power recline+headrest on each side of an L-shape sectional can go to 4.5k~5k with console.

10k to 13k are definitely made in USA, branded products prices and most likely top grain leather all over. You're paying for a luxury product with that luxury price tag.

Leggett and Platt reclining mechanism is great. They are well known for their quality. Call these retailers and ask what mechanisms they use, if they use Leggett and Platt then you're off to a good start. Okin electric motors is great, you won't hear the reclining noise.

Here is what I offer on Amazon, you can follow my bullet points and description as a buying guide.

Depending on where you live, I would shop locally. Look for local furniture stores with 4.5+ star google reviews, they usually have good stuff.

If you are spending over $7k on a reclining sectional, you better be getting power recline, headrest, lumbar, 100% leather all over with console. I can custom make you a fully decked out 100% leather reclining sectional for less, all day long.

Hope this helps!

I'm a former college football player who has sustained various back injuries necessitating surgery. I'm also a pretty big guy, do durability was an important factor for me. I've got this bed frame coupled with a tempurpedic mattress and it's been great thus far for over a year. It's heavy and difficult to move, but it's super sturdy and is still running like day one, as you might expect for a product with a good warranty. I made the decision to just save up and BIFL.

I would recommend a memory foam or a latex mattress if you're going to get an adjustable base. And get some bed sheet suspenders like these.

I have boxes of those casters you linked to. So basically you just want to put regular wooden legs on it right? It is actually quite an easy task. What couch has those on there, just curious?

The Caster fits into an insert in the wood. First you must remove that insert/grommet. Then screw in one of these inserts using an allen wrench. Chose 5/16th or 1/4 according to the leg you pick out. Slightly oversize the hole...carefully. You can just wiggle a bit around if you want. https://www.amazon.com/Z-Threaded-Hex-Flush-Internal-Threads/dp/B002713X8G/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=5%2F16+insert&qid=1556762868&s=gateway&sr=8-4 When you screw these in do it in the same method of using a tap/die set. They are easy to bend. Do a back/forth motion. If it gets tight pull out entirely, enlarge hole. Grab a new one if you feel like you bent it. If your whole wasnt large enough its easy to bend those. If you screw up use one of those easy out screw stripped out removal tools. I buy the cheapy ones like this but other inserts don't have the issues of easily bending.

Your main bolt sizes in furniture are 5/16 & 1/4 inch ... and their metric counter parts (#6 or #8) . You will be using one of those. Probably American 5/16th when you buy legs. Just stain them some kind of black/brown.... that gos with anything.

If your hole is too large for some reason. Glue in a dowel with the holes diameter/depth(your starting over from scratch). Let dry. Then create the appropriate size hole with a drill starting in the center of the dowel.

Quest complete, collect XP.

You should take a look at how the metal bracket is attached to the wood portion of the bottom of the sofa. If it can simply be unscrewed, I would consider finding a like leg and bracket attachment. Amazon has lots. Make sure it’s a similar shape and stain. Also make sure it’s solid wood. This is all assuming there is no solution through Wayfair.

So far its been great. I bought this one in a "7" out of 10, 10 being most soft. Latex is a fast-acting foam so it has a similar feel to the way an innerspring would react, rather than slow-acting memory foam. Like I said its only been a week, but so far I am pleased and would buy again.

Oh and if you decide to go with this mattress buy it from their website where you can get a 10% discount amazon doesn't give.

I have the couch in golden brown, but I also have two armchairs in black in my basement. The couch gets a fair amount of use as it is the main piece of furniture in our living room. I'd recommend getting some large throw pillows for the inner corners, as they are a little stiff.

I got these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LT6CR68/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_I3EwDbBX2XPDK

My wife and I needed something new after our West Elm Henry sofa fell apart after only two years of light use. We noticed Landskrona couches in the lobby of our local IKEA. We tried it out and sat on it for a few minutes. We thought it was a positive sign that they were in good shape considering the amount of traffic coming in and out of the store that would stop and rest on them, and that IKEA felt confident enough to put them there knowing they would face fair amount of abuse.

Sorry to hear about your delivery issues. Buying furniture can be a real headache, lots of items, even expensive ones, seem to be so cheaply made these days. Not to mention I live in an older home that has a small entryway; I can't fit a large couch through the door, so that really cuts down on my options.

I've had a few futons over the years and I gotta say my favorite mattress so far (link below) was 8'' thick with springs. Some of the mattresses are thinner, without springs and for extended periods of use they can be uncomfortable.

I'd make sure the futon's sturdy. If you were to get a metal one (for example) make sure the support bars are thick! If they're not they'll start to bend before you know it.

Another suggestion is to make sure your futon has a metal stopper at the end of the frame. This keeps your mattress from sliding forward. If you have a thicker mattress or if you move around a lot you'll want something to keep your mattress from sliding forward which is where the stopper comes in handy.

This would be a good example of a metal frame with thicker bars and a stopper...

If you look at the front of the bed you'll see two bars that go vertical (I just call them stoppers, no idea what they're actually called.) Those are important to keep your mattress from sliding down!

And here's a link for a killer mattress (I'm using it right now for my futon which I sleep on every night.)

  1. A piece of plywood on top of the slats and under the mattress this is assuming there is a little lip around for the slats the lay on.
  2. We also use these in our living room with the reclining couches and they are a little pricey but work wonderfully and never see any sliding on our floors

VIVO Black Rolling TV Cart for 32 to 65 inch LCD LED Plasma Flat Panel Screen | Mobile Stand with Wheels (STAND-TV03E) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TFXO4Q4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_BTWnDbJHC7FSX

I have been using this stand that I purchased off of amazon for the last year. I was really impressed with the fit and finish during assembly. I have a 60" mounted to it and have nothing but good things to say about it. The convenience of being able to move it around to accommodate the optimal viewing angle from the living room, dining room and kitchen is so nice. I actually am disappointed now if I am somewhere where I don't have a perfect straight on view of the TV. The internal cable routing keeps everything on the ground and mostly out of sight, even on the back. Also, the wheels are very impressive. They appear to be too small and hard, but I have a very deep pile, shag rug and they roll across, on and off of it with ease. My only regret is I noticed they are now selling it in white, which would match better with my decor than the black one I currently have.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I'm thinking of getting a nice gaming chair. Thoughts or suggestions?

I saw your post the other day, and remembered it when I saw this piece as part of the amazon prime deals. Maybe it will work?

There are a lot of things like that, and they vary a lot in terms of price and visual style: closet organizer, closet shelving system, closet kit, shelf cube storage... Hopefully one of those is along the lines of what you were looking for.
