This is the case I've been using. It feels pretty good and it's really cheap. However it's a bit bulkier than I expected and it's a nightmare trying to take it off. It's an alright case if you don't plan on taking it off much.

I'm getting this case tomorrow. I decided to try out a flip case since I really disliked the feel and look of a glass screen protector but I still wanted a bit of protection for the screen. I also really liked the feel of the flip case on my friends one plus one and the one I bought for my tablet. It'll definitely have less protection around the corners though. I'll let you know how it goes.

edit: The Rock case is pretty nice. The fake leather feels great. It's a super slim case. This also means there's not a lot of protection. You do get a little protection on the top corners and the bottom left corner. The s pen is fairly exposed. The sides are well covered though. Personally I really like this case. If I'm going to get incredibly drunk I'm putting on a more protective case though.

I've used the commuter cases on several phones. They are not too bulky. I have a Caseology case on my phone right now and it added very little bulk or weight but I don't believe is as protective as the Otterbox. On thing I will say about the Caseology case, it is attractive. If your phone gets tossed around a lot then I would go with the commuter, but that is my preference. Otterbox also makes a one-piece symmetry line that is lighter still, but does so at the expense of the durability and protective quality that Otterbox is know for. Keep in mind that if you purchase from Amazon returns are very easy.

I know where you are coming from, because I probably posted the same thread when I first bought my Note 5 lol, but this is really a tough question to answer, since there are so many options and personal taste plays such a big roll.

HOWEVER

Plus, it is down to $14 shipped with Prime on Amazon. Hard to beat.



My real suggestion is, though, to just narrow it down to a few top choices and buy them, test them out, and return some.

I bought these a few months ago and they are excellent. They support Fast Charging, are very durable and have nice small connectors that fit any micro USB outlet.

I have 3 or 4 of these scattered around the house and they work every bit as well as the Samsung fast charger that came with my phone.

I have this tempered glass protector by JETech and it has been great. One thing to know is that there's a few mm around the sides it doesn't cover because the note has curved edges. It was easy to apply, provides amazing protection, and didn't change the look, feel, or premium quality of the phone at all. I'm really picky when it comes to this kind of stuff and I can't even notice that it's on! Highly recommend.

I had this case and while it looked awesome, the edges cracked after 3 drops.
Spigen case

I hesitated replacing it with an otterbox commuter because of how I disliked the defender on my s4 but came to the conslusion that both products are vastly different. The quality is way better on the Note 5 Commuter and the feel in hand and overall quality is way better. I wouldn't go back.

Otterbox

I've been using this case since I bought my phone in September. Doesn't add much bulk and feels like it's really protected. I don't use the belt clip but the case itself is great. Well worth $17

I bought my Note 5 to use with GearVR and needed something to protect the screen from even the smallest of scratches, so I bought this Tech21 case. My Note 5 can be removed from the case very easily when want to use it for VR, but doesn't fall out accidentally. It's got a slot for credit cards. I put my student ID, Drivers License and 1 credit card in it easily. The Crystal Bumper from Verus is pretty nice, I like that the back is curved to follow the phone, and it seems pretty sturdy. I'm not afraid to drop it, for sure.

I think any Spigen case is great. I have this one, which I personally found a little bit more aesthetically pleasing.

As for covers similar to the Clear View, there's tons of similar, cheaper options online, like this one.

For fast wireless charging, you need a fast wireless charger and a fast charge AC adapter (like the one that came with your Note 5).

Like the other commenter, I only have a Commuter case. This case is flawless. I bet it could fit a Defender.

I'm currently using the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle(blue) and I freaking love it. Feels great in the hand, isn't as bulky as an Otterbox Defender. Comes with a belt clip if that's your thing.

Spigen Slim Armor really great case, just as good as otter box if not better for a third of the price. Had one on my Nexus 5, my Dad's s5 and now my note 5. Dropped countless times not a scratch on the phone. 10/10 would recommend

I've tried about 6-7 different screen protectors so far and the best one I've found in terms of how smooth the surface feels is the stalion brand here:

It actually feels as smooth as, if not smoother than the original screen. Very smudge resistant too. Just taking it out of your pocket takes off 99% of the smudges. It still suffers from the halo around the edges. Slightly less than others, but only slightly better.

Other brands I've tried for comparison sake are ailun, xtremeshield, showme, and nillkin.

The Zagg one seems to be the most liked as far as not having the halo (non sticking edge) around the sides. I'm not sure as how smooth it is since I don't want to spend 35 bucks on a case.

This case is super thin, offers medium-high protection and feels awesome.

I bought this one by stalion off amazon after having another one from amazon come up a dud. I'm pretty happy with it. Minimal halo on this protector, only a slight halo on one side because I couldn't get it perfectly centered but not noticeable really. honestly, i think this phone is really tough to put a glass screen protector on it perfectly because of the edge curvature of the screen so it will only be as perfect as your alignment (which it comes with an alignment aid that i stupidly removed and didn't use).

I have used this and it has been fantastic. Most people are amazed that it looks so good. Just have to get a tempered glass screen protector on top. Have dropped my phone multiple times and zero damage has been done. The case is even still in good condition.

My 2 cents for Zagg. I had experience with their older products back in the iPhone 4 era. They're overpriced for nothing. Better alternative everywhere. They would get damage very easily.

I can say, they are really well done for the price. The only downside is it doesn't cover all the screen. The protector leaves borders are the screen in case you put a case.

Personally, I stopped using shield since Nexus 4. With Gorrila Glass, you are safe. Though, I am not doing any construction work ... but I got kids, and they tested the screen many times.

I don't like big cases that take away from the aesthetics of the phone. For that reason, I chose the Spigen Slim Armor. The kickstand is nice for netflix viewing, the raised edges protect the screen in face-down mode, and it's easy to grip without being difficult to get in/out of my pocket. Good price and no regrets.

I've been using their brand cables as well. They work and look great. I know it's just a usb cable but fit and finish should also matter.

Looks nice, good grip, soft corners. Yes it makes a big phone bigger, but after a day or two you don't even think about it anymore. The other nice thing is it's raised a bit above the glass on the edges so you have less tenancy to accidentally press one of the buttons or the screen while holding the phone.

No complaints from me, happy with my choice.

Started off with a rhino shield bumper but then I got my hands on this caseology case.

I have the gold platinum note 5 and I think it matches the color scheme of the case really well. I really dig the look of it.

Very grippy, clear case.

I got the spigan slim armor case the edges are raised a little which keeps your fingers from accidentally touching the screen. It's a good case.

I use the black titanium Dbrand skin for everyday use and the Spigen Liquid Crystal Case if i'm doing anything that can have my phone fall or get hit.

On a previous phone I used a softer screen protector and the pen dug into the protector.

I like this one, no problems to report, and I had it on for a few months.
