Happily. Here a few few quick resources I found for you:

And here a couple references that might interest you if you want more detail on what we generally expect from fiction:

Now, I hope you don't mind if I assume you may feel that I have attacked your opinion of ME3 with my comments. It wasn't my intention to say that you can't enjoy it. Hell, I'm happy for you if you did. But there is a real difference between enjoying something and believing it is good.

In the case of ME3, we can see that some of the most well established principles of writing, thematic and structural elements which are integral to the crafting of a quality narrative, have been abandoned.

If you honestly want to know more, I'd encourage you to take a course in creative writing, or even better, in literary history. With a little background and perspective, you can start to understand why some books, films and games seem to be lacking and why others have a stronger appeal.

EDIT: As I look at your post again, I wonder why you are asking me for specific examples at all, when I have clearly outlined a major structural failing of the narrative in my last post. Oh well, maybe this additional information will be of use to you anyway.

> The hardcore crowd may scowl upon their success, but I have spent equal time in Mass Effect as I have in PvZ, so their work is justified.

I play Europa Universalis and Hearts of Iron (games that make Civ look like Warcraft) and i love PvZ.

PvZ for Android on Amazon.

Looks like you didn't quite read your own link... 10 bucks for a single battery. Now let's have a little comparison.

Four batteries plus the charger? For four more dollars? And doesn't require a USB cable or a wall adapter or Playstation 3 to charge?

Yeah that's substantially cheaper.

I'll do you a favor, I looked it up and found the same battery for five bucks total. Not bad.

However, you can get four Energizer batteries for a little over 10 dollars anywhere they sell batteries.

So each battery is half of what the Playstation 3 one is. Like I said, substantially cheaper.

>If you consider that hard to do, then your intelligence is really lacking and there's truly no other reason to continue this discussion.

I said it was more difficult, not that it was impossible to do. You're not refuting anything.

Also, you do realize this voids the warranty. Good luck getting a replacement if you try this.

I'm sorry you are stuck with tons of devices which operate on your precious AA's, I only have my TV remote and Direct TV controller that use such trinkets.

Once again, this refutes nothing about what I said.

>Sorry for the bad grammar I'm on my Iphone which uses one of those proprietary non-removable batteries which make life easier, maybe they should make a phone which uses AA's so you don't have to look for charger!

I'm on a phone too... It's not difficult to have proper spelling and grammar.

For some reason, you really, really want it to sound like these built in batts are some massive innovation but they're really not. It uses the exact same tech to make the Energizer ones and they're nearly identical when it comes down to the performance.

What exactly makes these built in batteries so amazing? What can they do that AA's can't? Just answer that and maybe you'll have a leg to stand on in this little debate. Because so far all you've given me is, "It plugs in to the console!" Big whoop, that's not really a big deal.

in slight relation to your comment, i just picked up tomb raider off of amazon for less than 15 bucks using coupon code: 'GOONCAVE'

pretty good deal if you haven't picked it up yet.

along with the steam sales, amazon is apparently having some pretty good sales themselves

Not at all affiliated, but I love the Thrustmaster t.16000m dual stick bundle. I got this. I'm sure you can find this bundle other places as well.

I would suggest Deadpool Classic Vol. 2. Volume 1 is fine, but just covers his introduction to the Marvel Universe. Volume 2 is where Joe Kelly finally got his hands on the character and is considered by many fans the best writer Deadpool ever had.

AAs are awesome...

Especially if you have these

Or you can go with the energizer high speed chargers and have a set of AAs recharged in under 15min.

That's not quite the full story. According to this excellent book, Nintendo stuck with cartridges simply so that all orders for game production had to come through them. They had final control over the entire production of SNES/N64 cartridges, giving them a much, much bigger profit margin than if they just sold licenses to develop and release games for their platform, like Sony did.

u/RedAtWork · 8 pointsr/gamernews

It's also #1 on amazon.ca for the time being.

When I pre-ordered it a few days ago it was already sitting at #2.

Dark Horse is definitely going to be happy they are releasing this in North America if the pre-orders continue this way.

Also interesting of note is that there is still no cover image on any of the amazon sites that I have seen. I have a feeling Dark Horse will be creating one themselves but it will be interesting to see how it differs from the Japanese version.

Well, it sounds like you're mostly content with their direction. I can see how it might work for some. But, as for listening to the community, they simply didn't. Their reviews are abysmal. Any survey of a wider beta audience would have told them that they weren't on the mark if they had bothered to listen. I suspect Wilson is simply the fall guy for corporate mandates that were forced through from the top-down, so I don't buy that the real problem is solved until it actually is.

Don't get me wrong: I'm glad they're improving the game. But at this point, the whole experience around them is so tarnished that it's going to be hard for them to get back the trust they once enjoyed.

You can get a download code for less than $16. https://www.amazon.com/Last-Us-Remastered-Download-card-Voucher/dp/B00OBZNI0O

Best video game I've ever played from a story perspective. It was like a book I couldn't put down and for the same reason.

u/wizpig64 · -1 pointsr/gamernews

Everyone should be using rechargeable batteries for everything at this point.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004RP2VNI/

They're more economical than the microsoft kits, you can charge another set while you play, and the batteries work for other stuff too. IMO these are the best solution, so I applaud microsoft for leaving the option open. Still not buying an xbox one though :P

u/Smile_lifeisgood · 3 pointsr/gamernews

Yeah I found the book. So it appears the author was just roleplaying but even the reviews suggest he seemed like he might have gone overboard in that regard. I remember passages where it seemed like he was making a point of asserting it was real which is probably just him trying too hard not actually being insane.

I have 3 PS3 controllers and I have never had one stop holding a charge on me. Even if it did I can get a replacement battery off Amazon for £7.

That is definitely better for me than buying boxes of disposables or buying rechargable batteries that I wouldn't use with anything else.

u/Toastermaface · 3 pointsr/gamernews

I recently paid around $10 for a new, redeisgned joystick. It's more like the gamecube one. 5 minutes of your time, and its a brand new controller. Almost 100% plug and play (had to sand just a tad), and no issues thus far. Feels good man.

u/i_upboat · 4 pointsr/gamernews

I believe right this moment it's on sale on Amazon.com for $3.74 until tomorrow (there's actually a bunch of game sales for pc on Amazon right now).
The DRM on Amazon says that it's for Steam, and I'm pretty sure you get a Steam key because last year I bought one of Amazon's bundle specials with JC and JC2, and they both had Steam keys.

u/JenkemKing · 8 pointsr/gamernews

Give this book a read. It's a really easy and actually gives a good history of PC gaming.

u/Yaphet_Kotto · 5 pointsr/gamernews

No, because a lot of people have said so ranging from countless writers, critics, and developers. Did you even read the story below the Sessler sound bite? There's nothing to prove about it being satire. If you're offended by Grand Theft Auto, which you clearly are, you should be. It's intentional.

A much better source of information will be Jacked: The Outlaw Story of Grand Theft Auto, by the author of Masters of Doom: How Two Guys Created an Empire and Transformed Pop Culture, which comes out next month

u/Guy_Buttersnaps · 14 pointsr/gamernews

Nyko makes pretty much the same thing and sells it for 80% less.

EDIT: Turns out you can buy them for even cheaper than that. Amazon has it for $13.25+shipping, and BestBuy has it for $14.99 with free shipping.

u/jasnoonan · 1 pointr/gamernews

Thanks getting this and decided to get this as well.

u/colecovizion · 2 pointsr/gamernews

That seems expensive compared to some other battery options out there. I just bought one made by Nyko on Amazon that claim 2x battery life. Because they were so cheap (~$13), I bought 2! Here is a link, they appear to be getting good reviews.

u/[deleted] · 4 pointsr/gamernews

Looks like you can pre-order from here for $25.89. Aww yeahhh!
