never buy without seeing a size chart that gives you inches or centimeters; and believe the measurements they give you. sometimes they seem weird and you just want the piece to work... and it's exactly as weird as the size chart said it'd be.

anyways, as far as how to take measurements without a measuring tape, the easiest thing is to pick one up when you're at walmart next. They cost almost nothing and you can grab them in the sewing section. In the meantime you can do one of two things, you can either take a string, like shoelace or some thin cord or something, and use that to get the circular measurement with your fingers and then transfer that to a ruler or measuring tape (or take the ruler and measuring tape and marking off measurements you need like 36"-38" etc.) or, you can measure clothing you like and fits you well (this is honestly the least accurate way because your clothes stretch and are very complex shapes so any straight measurement is gonna kinda suck. The best thing is to just grab a tape measure, it shouldn't cost more than a few dollars.

and about sizing generally; womens sizes are usually super different from brand to brand. never expect something to be the same because of the same size. it will never be the same size unless it's the same garment from the same manufacturer. that being said; there's tons of cute stuff with elastic waists that stretch super well so there's tons of cute stuff you can order online without knowing your sizing. one of my go-to favorites right now is this skirt if you get the plus size it'll fit pretty much perfectly and it's super flowy and fun and also super practical. Just remember to wash it separately first because it's overdyed. Oh yeah; womens clothing is harder to take care of properly too lol.

so yeah, welcome to women's sizing where the sizes are made up and the numbers don't matter

AMAB runner here! I found that running didn't flatten my booty, but it didn't build it either. I'm sure I got some great cardiovascular benefits, but I didn't see much change when I looked in the mirror (I was always a healthy weight.) The main change I saw was that my abs were more defined (probably a combination of working my core muscles and losing body fat.)

Recently I started strength training. Squats do work your booty, but it's secondary. The main effort is done by your quads. Deadlifts are more focused on your backside (hamstrings and glutes.)

Some resources:

  1. I highly recommend Strength Training Anatomy by Frederic Delavier. It has detailed color illustrations showing which muscles are worked by just about every exercise you could think of. There's also a version for women's anatomy.

  2. My girl Abby Pollock on the YouTube.

  3. /r/StrongCurves. I haven't used it personally, but you may find it helpful.

Good luck quitting smoking and building your booty!

Contouring can definitely make for a more masculine face, but if people can tell that you're wearing makeup, you're not going to pass. Period. Now, passing isn't the be-all, end-all for most genderfluid or genderqueer individuals and if it's not for you, then that's great, go for it! You'll look androgynous and awesome. But people will read you as female. If you want to pass, people need to not be able to tell you're wearing makeup. For binding, if you don't have the money/ aren't fully committed to binding yet, I have had great success binding with [this] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005VRLT6Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

Oh wow, it certainly seems like you and your partner are not communicating well. I reccomend that you both read More Than Two, it is an excellent resource for people who are in open relationships. I did want to mention that polygamy and polyamory are not interchange able terms. ♡

Underworks MagiCotton Sports and Binding Minimizer Bra Black 32-BCD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I54XBWM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_0xgEzb18N0MP4

I use this one. Looks like a sports bra but is super compressy. A tip though: the first time I put it on I didn't realize I was supposed to push my breasts to the side. I pushed them forward like a regular bra & couldn't figure out why I had a giant uniboob.

Hey there.

I dont know about anyone else, but a few of my fluid friends swear by neoprene dive shorts

Something like this - https://www.amazon.com/Cressi-Lido-Lady-Black-Pink/dp/B074QV2JF9/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=neoprene+short+suit&qid=1574776845&sr=8-9

You could even binder under it.

I'm so sorry those put you in legitimate pain. (And for taking so long to reply. I just tonight got the notification you'd responded to my reply.)

I really hope this link works. This is the binder I've been using when I need it, and it's really nice. http://www.amazon.com/Tranz-Forms-Bind-Rite-PowerNet-Sleeveless/dp/B00CS7P7AQ?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

No need for specialty shops - many department stores carry silicone inserts or "cutlets" in the lingerie section. In the US they run anywhere from $15 to $25 so you should be able to get a pair without breaking the bank. They'll give you about a cup of boob and a realistic weight and jiggle.

Here's a set on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Invisi-Silicone-Bra-Inserts-Size/dp/B000BUUGHG

There's always the time-honored tradition of rolled up socks in a bra, too :)

u/Ambermonkey0 · 12 pointsr/genderfluid

For the record, I don't think they are too manly.

The best way to "cover" up something you don't like is to draw attention to other areas. Maybe add a bracelet that stands out or has some bling.

You can also get a lightweight sweater or shrug to cover your arms, but you might lose some of the neckline of the dress. You could do something sheer like this

Get a flat iron. If you need to, head to a salon and have them show you how to use it. They are NOT a girls only tool.

They make some that aren't pink, too.

I'm AFAB and was way too slow to learn this tool. It is so nice.

When my partner came out to me I got them and I matching gender fluid flag pins. I got them from here
