I got mine from Amazon, but I would recommend getting it from an authorized reseller (like HIDevolution). They can do a LM repast for you which won't void the warranty since it is done through them (do not repaste yourself since this voids the warranty and if you use LM you can easily short your device and be out $2300). I was getting temps in the low 90Cs on the CPU so I bought a laptop pad which dropped my temps to the mid 80s (the intake vents on the bottom so this laptop really does need a laptop pad with some fans preferably). You can use Intel XTU to undervolt the core volt offset and Graphic offset by ~.140mv to -.160 mv (mine is set at -.150 with no issues). Here's a guide if you've never done it before.

Weaksauce my dude! If you want to return it and try again, I used this one exactly (2666MHz, 16GB of course) in my Aero 15x v8 and it works great for me.

Important edit: You know, your post got me thinking, and I did a little digging and it seems my RAM may be running at 2400MHz according to CPU-Z. I might need to do a little digging on which RAM is actually compatible with this thing. I definitely have 32GB of working RAM (I routinely use 25GB+ for work) but I'm not sure it's running at the speed it should be. Don't buy the thing I linked above on my recommendation.

I've been having a bit of trouble with my aero 15x as well. Maybe you guys have some suggestions? I honestly can't figure out what went wrong.

About a week ago I decided to put in a new hard drive as storage. The install went great, everything was nice and easy... Or so I thought. As soon as I turned on my laptop I was greeted with a blue screen and the VIDEO DXGKRNL FATAL ERROR. To fix this I uninstalled and reinstalled my nvida and Intel graphics drivers. This got rid of the blue screen on start up but I noticed my battery was draining super fast. I was losing about 10% of my battery per 10 minutes.

At this point I thought maybe a fresh install would work. I reinstalled windows but had the same issue regarding the battery life. The VIDEO DXGKRNL FATAL ERROR also reappeared. At this point I'm not sure what else to do. If any one has any suggestions I'm all ears and I'd greatly appreciate the help. On a positive note at least the new hard drive works... :(

I don't think there exists a smaller 180W power brick. Best I can find is this. It's 85W though, will probably charge the laptop slowly but won't allow you to run full performance. Maybe you can try looking for a USB-C to whatever-the-proprietary-adapter-is-called adapter and then get a compact 65-100W USB-C charger

Ehhh, not sure if it’s the specs you want, and it’s used but with a warranty via amazon;

I got this one (AC2) and can confirm it's working fine on my 15X V8.

I was actually looking at this, do you think it'll cover the vents? I have not received my laptop yet so I can't check

A guy in the review of this amazon section said it worked for him.

So my story might help someone.

I ordered a 16GB Crucial as secondary RAM and had the same problem as the OP. Black screen, computer always on, if I turn it off it immediately reboots.

I processed a refund through Amazon and in the meantime started reading more stories of people getting the recommended RAM, STILL having this problem, but not giving up because it was the recommended RAM and eventually it just started working.

So I thought, well, that might be the key. You just have to get lucky at the initial boot. Once the laptop ran out of power so I could safely unplug the RAM, I reseated it and put it right back in. Plugged it in...and it worked.

I'm starting to doubt Gigabyte's suggested RAM list. Rather I think those sticks worked for them first try, and some others didn't so they tossed them out.

If you've got RAM that didn't work, don't give up. Let the computer die, then reseat the RAM and try again. And again. And a few more times.

That’s the price. You won’t find any cheaper unless it’s used. Amazon sells the 2x8 kits without the demo sticks now but I’m unsure if it’s available in Canada.

Approximately a 15 deg (C) drop on both . Plus I added these to the bottom and have seen the fans don't have to work as hard for hot air to get out.
