I added a 16GB stick of Crucial 2666 DDR4. It runs at 2400 like the RAM that came with the laptop.

Notice a really nice uplift in metro exodus. I wish more reviewers would talk about single vs dual channel ram in modern games.

After researching I was hoping I could use a cable like this:
Amazon USB-C to DVI

I just want to run 3 monitors off of the Mobo till I can get a nice video card.

also in the same boat, looking for a laptop that will last 4 years through college. I massively use excel and also code with python and SQL so I wanted something with a full keyboard ie numpad. my second choice was the new Dell XPS 15. But after reading reviews it looks like all these slim laptops with dedicated graphics have issues, even the MSI stealth. I didn't want the flash that comes with a Razer laptop so I decided on the [Dell Inspiron i5577] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XFC44CL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

I'm from Australia, and am in a similar situation. I'd like to buy a laptop here before moving overseas.

This is what I've found:

  • The gigabyte website here for Australia says that if the laptop qualifies for online product registration then it should have an international warranty.

  • And then it says that you need to check with the supplier to confirm if international warranty/online product registration is offered.

Not sure if it is the same when purchasing in the US, but it may be worthwhile looking at different suppliers and seeing if they list having an international wareanty. E.g. Amazon says for the Aero 14 that it has a global warranty.

Yes, it is quieter on the non-staticky port for me as well.

If you're going to buy an external DAC, then the static or quietness will be a non-issue for you, as you will no longer be Z270X Gaming 7's built-in DAC for your audio (as far as I understand it).

If you do decide to go the external DAC/amp route, it might be a good idea to get a USB one.

Thanks for the heads up, we ended up going with a LumenBasic kit on Amazon. It's not RGBW and it's not addressable either... But we think it'll suit his needs and the cost was pretty decent.

Tomorrow is build day so I'll report back if it goes to shit! :D

Closest I can find is the GA-Q87TN model on Amazon though there are other Thin-ITX boards out there if you can get by without that exact model.

Otherwise it looks like you are going to have a nightmare trying to find that board.

Depending which card you have, chances are the DVI port only does Digital out and is not able to convert to VGA.

In fact, I checked all the Aorus models listed on Gigabyte's website and they all say DVI-D which means they can't convert to VGA.

If your card has a Display Port output you could get one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-DisplayPort-to-VGA-Adapter/dp/B00IHJU8U8

otherwise get a new monitor with DVI or another digital input.
