There was a book collection but it doesn't get very good reviews on amazon (apparently they re-edited Hunter's original work): http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1439165963/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?pc_redir=T1

"The Great Shark Hunt" also collects some of his Rolling Stone as well as a bunch of other things, I have this book and it's great.

Humble brag incoming

My girlfriend and I, both huge HST fans went to some consignment shop and found the large hardcover edition for like $30. I already had my dad's 1983 softcover print, but it was an awesome find.

You can pick up a regular sized hardcover on Amazon brand new for $25

No, it's "Gonzo," which is a sort of photo-biography of Thompson's life. It's got hundreds of pictures of him and ones that he took himself, and it's pretty great. If you aren't picky about cover quality, you can get it for very cheap.

lol, of course Rum Diary was printed in hardback. Paperbacks are not first editions, btw, unless it's an Advanced Reading Copy or Uncorrected Proof.

I thought his stuff was pretty funny when I was in my 20s (and the Harvard Lampoon Yearbook is pretty fucking funny), but his recent stuff has just been really bad.

My political viewpoint is rather different than his, but I appreciate the way he makes fun of just about everyone... although he was fawning over Rand Paul in his "How the Hell Did We Get Here?" on the 2016 election. I absentmindedly wonder if his opinion of Paul has changed now that he is a courier between Trump and Putin.

I bought a few of these, but sadly no Dunhill. I haven't a clue where to find them in Jersey, unfortunately.
