I have the SP POV Buoy, it's definitely a nice grenade/pistol grip type mount but as you mentioned, you won't get very far with it. Check out my post from a couple days ago (quoted below), I recommend the XSories Big U-Shot 2.0 with either a ProFloaty strapped to it or a pool noodle float.

-------------

There are a couple factors that you need to take into account when choosing a telescoping pole mount:

  • Application (underwater, outside window while driving, walking, etc)
  • Maximum (fully extended) length
  • Portability (fully collapsed length)
  • Price

I did some research and ended up trying a couple different products, and I'll share my thoughts on each one with you.

    ----------------

    XSories Big U-Shot

    | Min (Collapsed) Length | Max (Extended) Length | Weight | Price |
    |:-:|:-:|:-:|:-:|
    | 8.75in (22.23cm) | 37.75in (95.89cm) | 4.1oz (116.23g) | $39.99 |

    Pros:

  • At ~9 inches, the XSories Big U-Shot is almost small enough to be pocket sized. I actually put it in my swimming trunks pocket and used the included carbiner to clip the bottom of it to a belt loop (yes my swimming trunks have belt loops) to prevent it from falling out. It ended up being fairly comfortable while sitting on a jetski.

  • The extension locking mechanism allows for quickly readjusting pole length.

  • With a max reach of 37.75 inches, you can easily fit yourself and a bunch of your friends into a nice selfie - and depending on the angle you use, you won't even see the pole.

  • The pole is light enough to float with an attached ProFloaty (3rd party floaty with attached tether).

    Cons

  • This is not meant for shooting in or around water. I took it on the ocean for one day, and all of the metal in the ball head noticeably oxidized.

  • The locking mechanism seems cheap and flimsy, you basically pull out a section and twist it to the side and it seems to lock with friction.

  • Maybe it's because I over tightened the tripod mount, but the little clear disk under the 1/4" screw started cracking after about 3 uses, and will likely fall off shortly. This confirms my suspicion that the entire ball head on this one is a bit too fragile.

  • Due to it's light weight I'm a little concerned about holding it out the car window while going 80mph.

    ----------------

    Sealife Aquapod

    | Min (Collapsed) Length | Max (Extended) Length | Weight | Price |
    |:-:|:-:|:-:|:-:|
    | 18in (46cm) | 53in (135cm) | 9oz (255g) | $69.95 |

    Pros:

  • At 53 inches you can get really up close and personal with wildlife, or capture some nice faux-flyover footage.

  • The construction of this thing is strong and I would not hesitate to stick it out the window going 80mph.

  • Firm locking mechanism.

  • Comes with standard 1/4" inch and GoPro attachments, so you don't need the extra tripod mount. In addition, the attachments are quick release, so you can easily remove and put back the GoPro as needed.

  • The Aquapod is made to be used underwater, so you don't need to worry about rust / oxidation.

    Cons

  • When completely collapsed to 18 inches, it is far from pocket-sized and won't fit into just any backpack. Your best bet would be mounting it on the outside of your backpack/bag.

  • The Aquapod is noticeably heavier than the other poles, which says something about its durability. At the same time, it takes a significant amount of strength to hold it, especially when fully extended.

    ----------------

    XSories Big U-Shot 2.0

    | Min (Collapsed) Length | Max (Extended) Length | Weight | Price |
    |:-:|:-:|:-:|:-:|
    | 11.45in (29cm) | 37in (94cm) | 4.94oz (140g) | $49.95 |

    Pros:

  • With a max reach of ~37 inches (same as the original Big U-Shot), you can easily fit yourself and a bunch of your friends into a nice selfie - and depending on the angle you use, you won't even see the pole.

  • 100% stainless aluminium ball-head feels sturdy and will not rust.

  • The U-Shot 2.0 is made to be used underwater, so you don't need to worry about rust / oxidation.

    Cons

  • Has the same extending/locking mechanism as the original U-Shot which I'm not a huge fan of.

  • Feels a little flimsy when fully extended, but still better than the original U-Shot.

    ----------------

The XSories Big U-Shot and XSories Big U-Shot 2.0 both come in non-Big variants, but I feel they are too short to even be considered.

    ----------------

I think I'm gonna end up getting rid of the Sealife Aquapod and the original XSories Big U-Shot and keeping the XSories Big U-Shot 2.0; it's portable, extends enough to capture nice footage / get wildlife closeups and is meant to be used underwater so no worries about rust and corrosion. I really wish there was a hybrid between the XSories Big U-Shot 2.0 and Sealife Aquapod, but until then I hope my breakdown will help you in making a decision.

Given the current prices (CAD) prices, is the Hero 2018 the best bang for the buck? (I'm not a professional photographer, and I plan on having a camera that I can use for both Snowboarding and photos/videos while travelling).

GoPro HERO 2018 - $ 236 with an extra battery

GoPro Hero 7 Silver - $ 319 with the starter kit (floating stick, head strap + case)

GoPro Hero 5 Black - $ 382 (just the camera)

From what my research showed me, it looks like:

  • The HERO won't do 4K. The other 2 will do 4K @ 30 FPS
  • Accessories for all 3 are equally widely available
  • The Hero 7 Silver is the only one with no removable battery
  • All of the 3 are water-resistant (@10 meters) without a case
  • The sound quality of all of them are comparable (despite the number of mics varying between 2 and 3)
  • All of them have E.I.S, but it looks like the Hero Silver 7 is slightly better, given the better processor
  • All of them have voice controls
  • Hero 5 Black is the only 12 MP camera, with the other two having 10 MP

ALSO: Is it true that the HERO 2018 is a firmware crippled Hero 5 Black? Can I then flash a Hero 5 Black firmware on it and have the exact same camera?

Am I missing something important here?

It looks like if I don't care about 4k (which I don't cause all of my videos go to Google Photos anyway, which compresses them because I have a free account) the Hero 2018 is a clear winner, even over the silver, because it has a removable battery.

Thanks /u/lamic

I looked through your post and recommendations, it looks awesome! I know I really should wait for the Hero5 but I'm not sure if I can wait.

I started to put a list of things I want/need into a spreadsheet, to start looking at Price. I have Amazon Prime so I'm thinking about ordering everything through Amazon.

Can you take a quick look through my list and see if everything checks out and if I missed anything for "Basic" operations? Then could you make any more recommendations, or let me know what my next purchases should be?

  • GoPro HERO4 SILVER- $338

  • Memory Card Lexar 64GB- $35, Looks like the cheapest one between Sandisk Extreme and Lexar, Lexar currently is the cheapest on Amazon

  • Batteries - Wasabi Power Battery (2-Pack)- $22, Read a few reviews and people said they like these batteries a lot. Should give me enough juice and let me know how long I can record with, until I'm completely dead.

  • Protection Lens - $7 I really just need to lens protector, in the reviews people are saying some parts don’t fit the Hero4 only the Hero3. Or should I put the $20 version off the actual GoPro site?

  • GoPro The Tool$4, Like you requested and reading some comments it looks like it would be worth it.

  • A basic Card Reader - $7, did a quick google search on best card readers this one popped up for best for it’s price.

  • SANDMARC® Pole - $40, Looked up some reviews and people tend to like this one. It seems like is always recommended to have some kind of stick or holdable mount to start off with. Also could you go into a little more detail about mounting the GoPro?

  • Pelican Case -$25 I like the idea of it being waterproof and I like to be organized with my stuff. So this looks like a perfect fit. And it will be an awesome case to travel with.

  • Kingston 5-in-1 Mobile Companion - $35 I was watching some videos and it seems like this could be a cool little gadget to have. I would mostly use it for “mobile uploads to Hard Drives”. Working in IT I know how important it is to have backups, and this will let me get around bringing a laptop to the resort and other stuff. This is the video I’m referring too that shows you how to upload to a HD with out a computer.

So with everything in my cart I’m sitting at $488 which is with in my budget.

I’m still reading about the remote. That might be something we add down the line. I think I’ll be pretty content with just my phone app or getting the “waterproof touch screen” case cover too.

Do you think this is a good setup? Will this get me going? Do you have any recommendations, or anything that I should add or not buy yet?

GoPro Hero 5 Session or GoPro Hero 5 Black?

Some factors to consider:

  • Complete amateur here when it comes to cameras.

  • Want to get one of these as a birthday present for a very close friend who is also my travelling & trekking buddy

  • We currently use my One Plus 3T phone for taking pics but I'd like to better quality selfies, pics and, perhaps, videos. Priority is on taking great pics. Videos are just a plus. This is all for personal use though mind you.

  • I have looked at other types of cameras like Mirrorless cameras and DSLRs but those seem either too expensive or impractical for lugging around when trekking. The weatherproofing on the GoPro is a definite plus as well.

  • I'm on a budget and the Hero 5 Black seems really expensive but I'm not averse to the idea of saving up more for it if it really makes a difference in photo quality over the Hero 5 Session.

  • Just throwing this out there: I’ll be ordering the GoPro via a friend who’s based in the UK and will be travelling back next month to my country (no GoPro store or official dealer where I live and the models available aren’t exactly reliable or cheap since they come with the extra premium price. Hence why I’m ordering it from abroad). Just to give you guys some context, the current price of the GoPro Hero 5 Black represents approximately 60% of my monthly paycheck.

I've gone through the Sidebars, FAQs & searched a bit around on this subreddit on this particular topic and unfortunately I'm still not sure what to go for. So any information on this will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
u/lamic · 2 pointsr/gopro

So word on the street is the Hero5 will be coming out soon. I would wait until that happens and swipe up the Hero4 Silver or Black at a reduced price. These will be perfect for what you're looking to do and you can swap out SD cards and batteries. Something like this is good and it comes with an extra battery - should help keep you charged up for your trip. As far as your question about SD cards - not all SD cards work with GoPros. You can search around on this sub for more but personally I think the easiest thing to do is take the ones that they sell on their website and then go find a better price on amazon, newegg, etc.

As far as other accessories, I'll go ahead and throw out some of my personal favorites. I use this pole. It's really durable but you'll need to swap out their little tripod mount on the top that holds the camera in place for one of GoPro's tripod mounts (I can go into more detail if you need). I always keep my lens cover on mine whenever it's not in use or in my pocket just so I'm not scratching or smudging up the lens. The tool is great because it can be hard to tighten the thumbscrew sometimes to keep your camera in place. Even though it's a bit costly, the remote was totally worth it - especially if I'm around water and can't use the app on my phone to control the camera. Finally - you've got to have something to put it all in. I know there's cases out there that are made for GoPros + accessories but I love my pelican case because it's water proof and I know I can take it anywhere without ruining the stuff inside (i.e. SD cards, batteries, chargers, etc.). This is the one I have. In hindsight I wish I would have gotten one just slightly bigger so I could fit a few more things but I love it. Sorry that's a lot but I hope it helps.

Okay, slightly loaded question.

  1. Don't worry about having nothing to film with it. You'll find things to film. I've filmed sports practices, spontaneous nights out, and even attached my GoPro to my DSLRs horseshoe to get a nice random POV while photographing. If you're creative and feel like you WANT to FIND things to film with it then get it. World's most versatile camera by far.

  2. In response to your "is it worth buying" outright question, the way I look at it is that the Hero 4 is a (semi) pro-level camera. If you're Joe Bloggs who wants a camera to capture their holiday, or get some sweet selfies for Facebook - don't bother with the 4. A second hand 3 or even better the new plain [Hero] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NIYNUXO/ref=s9_al_bw_g421_i4) will suit you A LOT better. If you want more production values, sweet slow-motion, better looking night shots get the 4.

I bought a set of Neewer ND filters + UV + CPL so it's 6 in total...~$30. I haven't gotten to test them out just yet but reviews were positive, price was excellent. The kit is nice, the filters look to be made of good quality and they install (push on) easily. I use ND/PL filters on my drone for videos and there is a noticeable benefit, I imagine the same result for the GoPro.

SanDisk - Extreme 128GB microSDXC UHS-I Memory Card (Image shows Extreme Plus)| Black Friday as in now | Link | Additional details: Limit 3. Looks like a great deal for anyone wanting to shoot in 4K. Think this is the only microsd card they reccomend for gopro hero 6. Amazon, walmart, and maybe others are also selling Sandisk Extreme for $49.99, but from what I'm seeing they're the extreme and not the extreme plus. Link Amazon Example

Best Buy is also selling a WD external hard drive
4TB for $79.99
8TB for $129.99
At the moment, they're sold out. Will see if they become available again

u/thisguy9 · 3 pointsr/gopro

It really depends on how you plan to use it. Do you want a lot of video? You'll need a ton of storage space. Items I would recommend:

  • GoPro 3 Way or cheaper version
  • Joby Gorillapod (may also need the tripod adapter)
  • Extra batteries or battery bank
  • Extra storage or ways to offload it

Those are probably my mush haves but there are lots more that you could add. For backpacking you could check out this mount from Peak Design. Kinda pricey but all their stuff is really good and it would be great for timelapses while you hike or keeping it close at hand.
u/BeltPress · 1 pointr/gopro

Do you have a link to where you bought them? Are you sure they're for GoPro? With a Hero6 camera, your ND filters should be square, as they replace the front lens cover, like this. The only round ones I've seen for the Hero5-7 line come with an adapter accessory to fit over the lens housing for a 52mm DSLR-style filter kit like this

There are older styles for the older cameras, which pressed onto the lens of the cameras where the lens was exposed all the time.

It looks like what you're using is something like this, which isn't for your model of camera. Are you sure you didn't buy a kit for Hero4 and are trying to press the filter onto the lens of your camera after you took the lens cover off? Because that's what it looks like to me.

In my haste I ended up buying the hero 5 session because I wasn't anyone would see this in time to help. Is that gonna work just fine? I figured unless I boguht the (original?) session I was gonna spend at least 150 and the hero 5 session seems ok?

I ended up buying This card, u3 evo select, it lists 128 on the link, so I assume 64 is fine also?

For what its worth it's a baseball game, I just want to catch most of it

u/DesignNomad · 2 pointsr/gopro

Session is a great camera for helmet use because of it's size/form factor. If you have the budget for it, I'd consider upgrading to the Hero5 Session instead of just the regular Session. The Hero5 Session is a big jump up in quality and features, and you'd be super happy with it, I think.

In regard to mounting it, get a swivel mount/ball joint buckle which is great for helmet mounting. You can tuck it in with the low profile frame it comes with, and still adjust it to level out if you helmet has significant curve to it.

u/PJJ205 · 1 pointr/gopro

I have the same 64gb card that I just switched out for the 128gb version (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XX3X9JD/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) that I used once in my Hero 6 but purchased for the Hero 7. Going to use the 64gb for Karma drone footage and the 128gb for long mountain biking days.

Edit: the Hero 7 Black read the card just fine.

u/Shustybang · 3 pointsr/gopro

That looks awesome. If you want to do something to record audio, you can do what I did.

I bought this frame (forgot I already had one, but when I bought it, it was on sale for $18): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009PK9QGU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

...with this audio cable adapter: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A3MY7L8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

...and I use this mic for the audio: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I4DGRCU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

To get a setup that allows me to record MUCH better audio quality than you get with the camera in its normal case. The audio quality still isn't great though from what I've tested while filming fishing out on my boat. If you can afford it, I would get a better quality mic, but that one is enough and better than what the camera can do.

u/samuraialien · 1 pointr/gopro

Here's a mount kit that contains various mounts, including the ones I'm pretty sure you're talking about, on sale right now for $26.99. They haven't failed me yet. People say they're better than the official GoPro mounts and it also comes with a bag you can carry the shit in.

u/LCTC · 1 pointr/gopro

In canada your friend might be able to get as much as $300;

http://www.amazon.ca/GoPro-Outdoor-CHDOH-002-Camera-Silver/dp/B005WY3TI4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396625052&sr=8-1&keywords=gopro+hd+hero2

but when I saw those prices, I went direct to GoPro and ordered a new one from them instead. Being realistic, your friend can probably get $150-$200 if it is in great shape. Pure speculation though

u/spyder93090 · 3 pointsr/gopro

Get a Class 10 MicroSDHC, the Class 10 is the important part; this is the speed at which the memory card can read & write. Too slow (a lower class) and it won't be able to keep up with the HD video that your camera throws at it.

I recommend 32GB at the minimum. This will net you about 4.5 hrs at 1080p/30p.

Edit: I personally have the SanDisk 32GB Ultra Class 10 MicroSDHC. Got it on sale at Staples for $15 when I got my H3B. But $22 is still reasonable IMO. Comes with SD adapter.

Edit 2: In reply to Dubkingben's comment. I am on a Hero 3 Black. The highest I have recorded is 1080p 60p with ProTune on on RAW WB and haven't experienced any cutting out, personally. But obviously, if you plan to record in 2.7k+ or any of the higher-res settings, probably best to go with their Extreme series.

Thanks guys.

My best guess:

RØDE VideoMic with Rycote Lyre Mount with Deadcat

160 LED Video Light (Or something similar)

Camcorder Stabilizing Handle Grip (Or something similar)

GoPro Jaws Mount

A filter adapter - somtehing like this

GoPro Mic Cable

Quite a nice setup, although I'd be conceerned about shadows from the light on the clamp and gopro, and the chance of the clamp coming off if bumped

u/Murican_Freedom1776 · 2 pointsr/gopro

Mac user here, I am going to be ordering a GoPro Hero 4 Silver in a couple weeks. While I am unsure of your Mac specs, I do know that my Macbook Air (2014) has a dedicated SD Card slot. I would recommend taking your SD card out of your GoPro and try to upload the photos/video directly from the SD card.

If your Mac does not have a dedicated SD Card reader, Amazon has the USB SD card readers pretty cheap.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: If you don't mind letting me know if this works since the only computer I have at the moment is a Macbook.

u/MaxPowerzs · 1 pointr/gopro

Nice! Personally, I use the Time Lapse feature the most on my Hero 3 Black out of all the features. For longer time lapses I would recommend getting a Skeleton Mount that has an opening that allows you to keep it plugged in for power (example), a Suction Cup mount or Clamp Mount to hold it in place, and a 64GB MicroSD card for taking as many images as you can.

u/FutrePhys · 1 pointr/gopro

Well I'm not going to be using it for anything extreme, so I wouldn't be putting it through anything with high impact. I'll probably be using the camera mainly for recording trips and stuff like that (Roller Coasters, Amusement Parks, Hiking) Nothing crazy. So I think it would be a good starting point. If I realize that I need anything more reliable for an upcoming activity, I'll look into more reputable equipment. The one I got was this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PLBXUMS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/Garin2010 · 2 pointsr/gopro

The first option is to go without a housing at all, and instead get a frame. The latest frame nicely snaps out too, but around 40$ USD or so. The next option, is to look into an external microphone with the microphone attachment that goes through the micro USB port.

Using this adapter and a standard microphone. The hard part however, I think is mounting the mic onto the housing/frame so that you don't have to stand there all day with the mic in your hand.

If you check out /r/goproDIY there are a few rigs made by some who have attached mics to mounts.

u/bellboy2088 · 1 pointr/gopro

Hi,

As far as I can tell there isn't a music edition for the Hero 5 but there was one for the Hero 4. They are about the same price.

Which one would you recommend for me given I am going to be using it primarily to record live music?

Thanks!

Hi all. I received a goPro Hero 3+ for Christmas along with this kit and I was wondering about the durability of the third party kit. Are they generally considered to be durable or should I invest in official GoPro accessories?

u/aykayone · 2 pointsr/gopro

The new official replacement for the J-hook is way better and you will get better flush mounting.

Refer to the item on the upper left corner of the GoPro Grab Bag - that's the one you want to get.

The head strap ontop of goggles isn't a fun choice while snorkeling. It doesn't come down far enough with the goggles in the way to really stay on tight. It also feels uncomfortable have all that pressure on your head. When I went we used our XShot 2.0 pole and it turned out great. Just wash the pole and case with fresh water and dry after snorkeling. There are better options but for your first time out I'd say start small and buy more if you think you need it the second time out.

You wont need a red filter but you'll see improvements however I cant think of any manufacturers who have on for the Hero3+ case.

You could also get the Bobber mount so it'll never sink.

Also this is there SD cards I use

So i'm looking @ getting a gopro for my helmet when i go riding my motorcycle & i was wondering what the biggest difference i wound seen between Gopro hero & the Gopro hero4 silver as of right now i just want it incase anything were to happen while riding. But idk later down the road if my friends wanted to see them i would edit them into a video like some motovlogers do i guess

u/GOpencyprep · 1 pointr/gopro

Since first party weapon mounts for the GoPro are ridiculously expensive we decided to take matters into our own hands.

We took one of the flat adhesive mounts drilled a couple holes into it, which lined up with the holes on a cheap scope ring mount, then used one of the 90 degree clamps to get the camera oriented down the barrel. It seems a little tall, but we've come to realize that the height is actually perfect for getting the barrel in frame. I'll see about posting some video / pictures from the gopro later.

u/bunnamatic · 1 pointr/gopro

Amazon had it for 5% off just a few days ago. I went ahead and jumped on that even though I only saved 15 bucks. I did get free shipping and no tax too, so that's ok.

The surf edition is 9% off ($274) and the outdoor edition is 7% off ($280).

I can see that there aren't many links to the Hero 6 Black, is this because it's not the recommended camera?

I was thinking about buying a H6B for scubadiving and parachuting, and actually came here to ask for help with the SD-card. (I know there is a post about it, but I couldn't find any information regarding H6B and 128GB cards) I was thinking this one and an underwater housing with red filter. Also the Shorty or the Handler.

Would this cover my bases?

For something like this with camera only, does the price make sense? It's from GoPro, it has prime (which is kinda necessary at this point haha).. I'm not sure I understand what buying one directly from GoPro includes vs. something like this on amazon, which obviously specifies "camera only."

This. It's all about what you want to record. And how little you want the mic to be. This is a popular smaller mic. If you are going for more quality/bigger size, you could go with a shotgun mic. Also, You can buy a Chinese adapter on eBay for under $3.

u/RelaxYourself · 2 pointsr/gopro

I started out with a 4 gig card I just had lying around which proved to be insufficient almost immediately haha. So I went ahead and got this one which has been working great for me.

u/JamesWjRose · 1 pointr/gopro

My Gopro 4 also heats up quite a bit in longer recordings. I checked around and this is "normal" Meaning that the device has a lot of electronics in a small package for an inexpensive price and are designed to take a hit, not be vented. I have a skeleton cast but that only helps so much.

This simply may be a design flaw/smaller concern that the other feature sets for the price.

This is what I'm using. I'm not looking to spend too much since I'm going to be using in pretty rugged conditions (8 weeks in remote Bolivia) so I think I'd rather run with the quality then upgrade.

The case doesn't seem like it's the kind that comes off but I'll see what I can do without breaking it.

Took mine to a club last night and it really doesn't pick up bass well at all. Quality is insane though, 1080p @ 60fps. Haven't tried 30 fps yet let alone play with ProTune. Lots of time to tweak before festival season comes along ;).

I am going to get an external mic soon, probably this one.

Thanks, I'll check my memory cards tonight, both are 64 GB. I believe one is a samsung and the other is Kingston. Both are class 10.
I also have this skandisk: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-MicroSDHC-Adapter-Frustration-Free-Packaging/dp/B009QZH7BU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409670811&sr=8-1&keywords=micro+sd

maybe I'll try again with that one.

What do you think about buying the Hero2 Outdoor Edition?

Also, is the WiFi back and remote worth the money?

I think if you buy directly from GoPro you get a « free » card but on Amazon, else you usually don’t. I didn’t.

I never had any issue with SanDisk so I bought Extreme Plus one. SanDisk Extreme 128GB microSDXC UHS-I Card - SDSQXAF-128G-GN6MA [Newest Version] https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06XX3X9JD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_tN-SBbCMM9QEZ

Apologies if this change has been around for a while - been in the market for a GoPro and waiting to see what new ones come out this month!

Here's the Lexar 633x 64GB results. I believe we have the same setup so it shouldn't be too off. Macbook Air and Transcend usb 3.0 card reader.

This kit, one of these, and one of these. That should have you covered.

Also, the dude in the video is a jackass for not including product links...
