Ohhh yes I know what you're talking about. I personally don't have one (i don't really have the money or patience yet to use water cleaning), but if you want to clean your albums like that then go for it.

I personally use RCA's Discwasher Cleaner Kit to clean my albums.

Whenever i get an album, the very first time i play it (before I'm about to play it at least) i use the D4+ solution with the scrubber. For the remaining plays, I will use the carbon fiber brush before and after i play a side of a record. I also use the needle brush (in a back-to-front motion) to clean the needle of my turntable before and after it is used to play a side of an album.

I would only use the D4+ solution once a year /whenever the time feels right to REALLY clean an abum, but don't use it too much because the solution can damage the record with too much use (because of chemicals in it)

If you don't trust yourself enough to make a homemade solution to clean your vinyl records then I highly recommend something like this. https://www.amazon.com/Collector-Protector-Cleaner-Combination-Sounding/dp/B01EG5502W/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1523122282&sr=8-3&keywords=record+cleaner&dpID=51uFlKo2ZJL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch It's pretty cheap and it comes with a carbon fiber brush and cleaning solution. Even if it doesn't fix your Demon Days record it's still a good investment. I clean off my records before I play them.

How familiar are you with USB turntables? I've been lusting over http://www.amazon.com/Stanton-T92USB-Direct-Drive-Turntable/dp/B00292BREU for the last 2 years but from what I've read here and there is that the WAV/MP3s created are pretty much the same regardless of what deck you're using and to perhaps consider picking up a USB pre-amp instead. That's pretty much the only reason I even settled for the ION table.

So, seeing how I don't have access to that ION deck anymore, IF I decide to deep clean or replace one of the LPs, do you think it would make a significant difference to buy a used Stanton T92 or are used turntables not worth the risk?

Hey, welcome to the wonderful world of records! Just a note, this is an expensive hobby. So, onto the turntables, for starters, NEVER, EVER, buy a Crosley. As 'cute' as they are they will eat your records and force you to buy more. For a high-quality cheap player, I recommend the Audio-Technica AT-LP60.

For really high quality with a higher price point, I recommend the Audio-Technica AT-LP120.

Personally, I feel you should go for the latter, it's gonna cost you more, but it'll REALLY treat you in the long run.
Any more questions you have, feel free to ask!

If you can find this cheap it's your best source by far.
I didn't realize how expensive it got. Glad I hung onto the one I bought back in the day for $20 lol.

The DVDs are great too. So many little extras in there.

I have a hand me down technics, and one of the cheaper models at that. I had to get a new cartridge but it has served me well.

I like to look at used equipment at record stores and thrift stores. Sometimes the old console ones with built in speakers are cool and funky. Those can also cause issues tho since the whole thing is going to vibrate with the music.

I guess it depends. The newer ones are usually with a usb out or bluetooth which is nice if you want to plug into a computer but i dont think you will get the same sound.

My preference is get a real record player with out a preamp, got a stereo mixer with an actual phone in and get some decent monitor speakers with a seperate woofer and tweeter. This is what I have, with the speakers being big ass old technics and the turntable the same. My old sony mixer died (again) and i opted to get a new sherwood 200 watt mixer that has a real phone in.

This one

i don't like the record players you usually see in stores with blu tooth and usb out, and I don't like to have to use a separate preamp, but really its all about what you can afford, what you already have to work with and your money.

Head on over to r/vinyl for advice. People can be snobby but there are lots of cool tech heads on there that can be friendly and knowledgeable. The import thing is to enjoy the music.

Looks quite neat. It reminds me those Body-kun dolls used for figure reference, which is pretty neat. Here's a crazier looking doll where it has more joints.

u/Sigma-44 · 3 pointsr/gorillaz

It's a bit pricey but honestly if you're going to get Gorillaz vinyl this album was way too amazing.

I still plan how to kill my friend to get his copy, it's top notch quality and just makes you melt every time.

I simple Gorillaz Logo in the mid to upper area. Embroided on a black hoodie like a supreme bogo. I'd cop the shit out of that. But so far this is my favorite https://www.amazon.com/Gorillaz-House-attractive-hoodies-Medium/dp/B01MFZWTAT/ref=sr_1_39?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1478816281&sr=1-39&nodeID=7141123011&keywords=gorillaz+hoodie LMAO id rather kill myself than wear that xd

u/nathanaccidentally · 1 pointr/gorillaz

Not sure if you're still looking, but I use the Jensen JTA-222. I've had it for almost 3 years now and aside from replacing the needle from general wear, it's held up really well.

The reason I bought it was because I knew it wouldn't ruin my records, always check the tracking force before buying a fixed weight arm.

It won't sound good with the built in speakers, so I'd recommend getting some nice speakers to go with your new player.

For how expensive each lp can be, I would invest in a better made turntable IMO. Those all-in-one briefcase style bluetooth turntables probably won't make your records last very long - and (at least in the Intempo's case) they don't list detailed specs of the turntable either so you don't really know what you're getting. I'd go for an Audio Technica turntable - they have some under $100 and they're made fairly well, and if something breaks they make good replacement parts. Audio-Technica Belt Drive Turntable

These tracks are going to be on the super deluxe edition of Humanz. From the looks of the tracklisting, these new tracks are the alternate versions of the tracks from the original Humanz!

u/sanchypanchy · 1 pointr/gorillaz

Thanks :) does it matter what specific stylus I pick? I am looking to buy these ones

u/Frizkie · 2 pointsr/gorillaz

I own an Audio-Technica LP60, which is really, really good value at $100. The next step up from them is the LP120 which is basically better in every way, but starts around $300.

u/24Elsinore · 1 pointr/gorillaz

Looks like amazon uk must have sold out today... German Amazon has it available it seems.

Oh weird. Well amazon's US product page still says its out December 29th, so about 2 months from now. https://www.amazon.com/Jamie-Hewlett/dp/3836560933/ref=sr_1_1

But now I have no idea what the real date will be, like maybe Dec 12th is when they start shipping to distributors like amazon.

u/gunpla · 3 pointsr/gorillaz

Note, since this is Taschen, this may be a more retrospective book than the art book included with album pre-orders.

US Amazon Link. Cheers.

I actually like the 'evolution' his style has undergone. It reminds me of some of his old Tank Girl covers.

So, I suppose evolution isn't quite the right word.

It's the 3D representation of the band that bothers me...

I feel a style similar to Kubo and the Two Strings would suit them better.

EDIT: Added link

u/cowbeef01 · 3 pointsr/gorillaz

They'll ruin your records after a while. If $100 is within your budget you can try the Audio Technica AT-LP60 . Its pretty much regarded as one of the best beginner tables.

Here’s an Amazon link to it however it’s a U.K. link do not sure how it’ll translate elsewhere.

The German Amazon shop still has the Vinyl + art book. [Check it out] (https://www.amazon.de/dp/B06XSKTG6V?ref_=ams_ad_dp_asin_3)

u/mckelroy88 · 1 pointr/gorillaz

Amazon is selling it for $400. But I'm not sure if this is the one that OP has.
