Downloaded this Great Courses lecture on Mythology. Am about half way (15 hours) in. So far has covered the Iliad, Cu Chulainn and the Ulster Cycle and the Mahabharata/Bhagavad Gita, the latter being the best explanation of it I’ve heard thus far. (Edit: Oh! And the Nibelungenlied and Siegfried)

Finished this Great Courses on Arthurian Legend last year and I enjoyed it a lot!

This one is on deck. What can I say? Some people drink, some people smoke, I have the Great Courses and this game

As for books, I reread Mists of Avalon and dropped a cool 99 cents on this public domain Arthur collection this past summer because FGO got me all hot and bothered for everything Arthurian. Speaking of, also picked up this piece of Arthurian smut.

If you like that sort of thing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) this retelling of the legend of Achilles and the events of the Iliad is a far better book and will make you chomp at the bit for Achilles and Chiron to gd be released already!

I'm afraid I'm not super in tune with the lower budget phones, but consider the Pixel 3a for nice Google support. Black Friday is coming up in a month and it will almost definitely go on sale during that time. Consider phones from international brands like Xiaomi (example), Honor, Huawei as well since they're very popular for their affordably-priced smartphones. Samsung seems to have released the A50 this year, which is quite cheap (~$220).

Regardless of which phone you pick wait until Black Friday. Until then if you've got a decent laptop you can run FGO on Nox if your phone is struggling that much (make sure you enable virtualization).

I'm no expert on phones but have you looked at the Moto G5 Plus? it's what I bought to play Grand Order on and I've been pretty happy with it:

https://www.amazon.com/Moto-Plus-5th-Generation-Unlocked/dp/B01MR2ZFBI/ref=sr_1_4?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1505432465&sr=1-4&keywords=moto+g5+plus

If I had any complaints it would be that if I play the game on high volume I sometimes hear a slightly crackling sound when some servants speak in combat. The issue is more pronounced with some servants more then others (It's particularly noticeable with Gilgamesh) but it could just be an issue with my phone specifically rather then the model. It doesn't bother me much since I use a Bluetooth speaker when I'm playing it at home and if I'm playing in public I usually have the sound off anyway.

I'm looking for some insight into buying a new phone. Specifically, the one I'm leaning towards right now is the Nokia 7.1. Preemptively, I want to say that I've done a bit of research already and know that generally iPhones handle FGO better than Android but this is what I can afford so please don't simply suggest getting one instead.

Will this phone be sufficient to run FGO for at least a few years (basically up until NA reaches where JP is now)? If not, what kind of specs should I look for in a device to achieve that level of future-proofing?

I'd also love to know if anyone has any personal experience with the 7.1 or a similarly spec'd phone and can give details on how FGO performs such as any lag, loading times, etc. Thanks in advance!

So after getting the job offer finalized (took almost a month but its due to work being light in the early half of the month), I decided to reward myself with a new graphics card. Didnt want to go big due to not wanting to get THAT cocky with money spending just yet so I ended up getting ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Mini Graphic Card. Im looking forward towars it sinc hopefully I can finally run games like Witcher 3 on med settings. Anyone have this card and if so, how high can it go without needing to overclock? I did my research already so I have enough physical space to fit it, hence the mini size, and the power supply is 100W lower than what I have as a supply so Im certain it will work just fine.

Yeah, I've never seen Matthew Kyrielight in official use except for the Valentine's CE, but the first time I encountered it was something like this on Amazon when searching for Grand Order, and I saw it just recently as a tag on a wallpaper website. And just last week I saw it on eBay in the title of an auction. Auctions started less than 10 days ago! I'm astounded that those people haven't gotten the memo.

Hey nice! You have the SHF Blanks. I'd snatch them myself but I'm not artistically innovative enough to do anything great with them so the price wouldn't warrant it for me. They're really nice from what I heard though.

In case anyone is interested

Fionn has two moms

But I do wonder what route fate will take there relationship? Are they gonna go friends route or the lovers route?

I think we all know which one is superior.

Well, its only the casing for the drive that makes it worth it. If you were dedicated and careful, you could cut it in half, replace the drive, and glue it back together.

Finding a drive replacement that fits shouldn't be too hard, as you can get cheap USB 3.0 drives that are really small just epoxy the shit out of it, so it doesn't move inside the excalibur case.

Hmm, well...

-Watched Q (1982) which has almost nothing genuine to do with Quetzalcóatl other than being a fun campy horror.

-Bought a book on Quetzalcóatl and Hokusai.

-Bought several books pertaining to Arthurian Legends, watched musicals, etc.

-Considered watching the Prince of Egypt for Ozy even though I don't fare well with biblical stuff but since I couldn't find it in 1080p I just got the soundtrack. Pretty damn good music.

Overall, FGO has made me extremely interested in Mexico and Mesoamerica, which I knew little about before.

My take on it was more of general inspiration from the term than anything specific. Like the book of han was written in the early 100s, but in the link above, the poetry quote that mentions a tall building is from a guy 500 years later. So at least that one Chinese version was probably a real town at some point that was heavily romanticized after the fact.
I feel like the same heavily applies to Yoshiwara, closer to present day. Considering its original purpose and history, it's not exactly hard to imagine fanciful tales circulating among those not privy to go there. Not exactly a great source, but on one of the more recent books on the place mentions, "many myths and legends encircled the secrets of the Yoshiwara, and still do" in the blurb.
So I guess my opinion is the usual Typemoon pick and choosy fusion, where the tale is supposed to be in reference to the old-ass chinese one to be sufficiently mythical, but it's so vague they lean on Yoshiwara a ton for aesthetics and plot beats. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well the ad supported one is cheaper, but you can opt for the ad free one or pay to remove the ads whenever you want.

https://www.amazon.com/All-New-Amazon-Fire-HD-8-Tablet-With-Alexa/dp/B01J94SWWU/

See how there's an option "With Special Offers" and "Without Special Offers", it's basically lockscreen ads and the occasional ad in your notifications.

Amazon Japan's great for their flat rate and fast shipping.

Neokyo Jeanne and Jalter are good for cheaper shipping.

There are also little cheaper other offers.

Edit, "(There are also the mini figures.)

Yep, this is the tempered glass one I was talking about.

While, it's ridiculously easy to put the screen protector on, you will more than likely end up with something that resembles an oil stain. Mine was not bad, but it was dead center on the screen protector and became very noticeable sometimes. If you scroll down to the images on amazon, some users show some pretty extreme examples of what I'm talking about.

From what I understand, it's a result of the screen protector only having adhesive around the edges underneath it.

The more expensive ones that I was talking about uses a liquid adhesive. I think white dome or something like that is what a lot of people recommend, but I'm not going to pay that much for a screen protector.

I hope you have a data plan. I keep this in my backpack and keep it charged. Takes a few hours to charge but it lasts for I'd say about a week with casual use.
