  • Be sure to have GF music going! Make a playlist on Soundcloud using Brad Breek's stuff, and look for fun remixes too, there are a lot out there.
  • I'm assuming you are not adults and thus should gloss over my immediate first thought of "Ohh GF drinking game..." But I suppose you could re-create the fun of 'QUICK EVERYONE SHOVE IT IN YOUR FACE' by using candy pieces or something.
  • Play actual street fighter.
  • Zombie Dice! Not specifically GF but it's fun, very easy, and you could get a Scareyoke poster nearby to keep it in-theme.
  • Similarly...Cthulu Dice!, just change the theme to be all about Bill and you're good. If you really wanted to get into it, you could get a blank d12, and paint it to re-create the game die but with Bill imagery.
  • Look up any 'Murder Mystery' party game rules and adapt it for 'Who Stole the Capers' or any other ridiculous mystery in-theme with the show.
  • Could similarly try a modified Werewolf to be more themed around the show as well. Perhaps you're looking for people who are possessed by Bill! And the 'Seer' has the journals to help. [Edit] Instead of the werewolf killing people, people possessed by Bill could be turning people into stone statues.
  • You or someone experienced in such things could run a mini campaign of simplified D&D&MD. They don't make 38-sided die commercially, but a 30 sided die would be closer than a d20 at least. Super simple rules would be to let people basically 'do whatever they want', and then just role opposing dice checks to see who wins in each 'event'. For example, they decide what their characters are (Doesn't even really matter if you keep it super basic, can just be flavor), go into a dungeon, and the warrior decides he wants to wrestle that Ogrepig to the ground until it squeals...roll opposed checks, whoever rolls higher wins. If you want to give people a bit more customization...maybe let each person pick one thing they're really good at, and give them a d6 to represent that ability. We could easily brainstorm up a whole concept if you wanted but this might be beyond your desires or abilities so Imma stop there.

commenting on myself to add:

ADVANCED MODE: WHAT ELSE CAN I WATCH?

Try any or all of the following:

a. Eerie, Indiana - $20 on Amazon for the series - a BIG inspiration on many aspects of Gravity Falls, which will become immediately apparent as you watch it and throughout the series. Gnome biker, hobo with a mysterious past, hand iconography, secret mystical societies, and many other things I can't directly convey here because they're huge spoilers for BOTH series. It's also available a bit on Youtube (in AWFUL quality; avoid, honestly, if you haven't seen the show) and Secret Screenings has been talking a LOT about the series lately. Good starter video is here from the folks of The Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel: Secret Screenings: The History of Eerie, Indiana Probably the closest thing you can get to a 'pure Gravity Falls' fix that isn't GF itself right now.

b. Twin Peaks (for the 18+ only crowd) - With Alex drawing inspiration from (and making a number of sly references back to, especially in the printed books of Gravity Falls), this is a recommended jumping point for those who are looking for their mysteries a bit darker, but still steeped in the feel of the woods of the Pacific Northwest. Going down the Peaks trail will lead you to a vast new dimension of strangeness that is the works and worlds of David Lynch. Viewable on Netflix. Sequel series coming out after 26 years in 2017 - and you thought YOUR fandom had a long wait for a resolution? Twin Peaks predates both Eerie and the X-Files by about a year, and is considered one of the grande dames of 'spooky stuff is happening in the woods' and 'ominous metaphysical conspiracies' TV.

c. Rick and Morty - With a handful of sly references, Alex and Justin being pals, and the freedom to tinker, Rick and Morty and Gravity Falls are highly implied to be in a shared megaverse - which also includes the Simpsons and Futurama by further injokes and references. There is a not insignificant amount of the community that crosses over with interest in both shows. Alex and Justin have not helped matters by often making little jokes about Stan and Rick being pals.

d. Spooksville - view on Netflix - Gravity Falls but with spooky witches. Features a Mabel-like, a Plucky Trio, a Deranged But Brilliant Hobo, and a few other staples that will feel quite comfortable and familiar in the post-Gravity Falls media landscape. Ironically, these two shows ran kind of parallel, so any parallel plot points is probably coincidental.

e. Phantasm (1979) - This leans more toward the 'horror' end of the scale, but this movie is about a 13 year old curly dark-haired kid who discovers Very Strange Things going on in a funeral home in a small wooded town. Think Gravity Falls meets Italo-indie or Hammer horror and you're on the right track. Great soundtrack, spooky ambience, creepy gnomes, a SPOILER, a few bits of boob (so maybe 18+ on this one too) and surprisingly little actual "gore". An iconic horror form that falls solidly within the interest spectrum of Gravity Falls fandom.

Full disclosure here, I'm a mod for /r/StevenUniverse.

Okay, Steven Universe about a boy named Steven and his adventures with a gang of intergalactic protectors of Earth known as the Crystal Gems.

If that sounds like it's really deep, that's somewhat on purpose. In the beginning of the series, Steven is goofy, naive.

But as he matures, so does the show. He realizes the Crystal Gems still aren't over the loss of Steven's mother. There has been a history of war and slaughter that we're just beginning to see. And the forces the Crystal Gems defeated five thousand years ago are back, more powerful and advanced than ever.

Think about this; Rebecca Sugar wrote the episodes of Adventure Time about the relationship between the Ice King and Marceline, some of the most emotional episodes of the series. Imagine a whole show of that. That's Steven Universe.

Pretty much every episode is like an emotional punch to the gut, especially the later ones. This show has an emotional depth unmatched by pretty much any other cartoon.

The show is available from Google Play, Amazon Instant Video, or iTunes.

It's exactly 11 x 17 inches, not the most common dimensions if you're buying one "off the shelf". Getting it custom framed would be a great route to go but for a more economical option I'm partial to MCS "front loading" frames. I picked up mine for roughly $5 at Michaels thanks to a 50% off coupon. I'll try to post a pic later.

I hope your patience is rewarded soon.

Just get it here then.

If you want to make a faithful mockup of the blacklight version:

If you want to watch right on the air date, Sling TV is also an option. You can watch Disney XD live on it for a fee. Not recommended if you're never going to watch the channel again for the month, though.

Another option is Amazon Instant Video. They have every single episode of GF so far, and you can buy them all there if you wish. They're usually very good at having the episode the very next morning after it airs.

It's from the Lost Legends book! 100% recommend, it's brilliant and you'll read everything in the character's voices perfectly.

You know you can buy new ones for original price of 150$ in the Internet, right? But if you want a normal, not special edition copy, you can buy it too.

u/SachinBahal28 · 3 pointsr/gravityfalls

If there ever is a Gravity Falls movie, that would be a great opportunity for some crossover.

And when you say journal, you're talking about this right? how is it, I've been thinking of getting it for myself.

u/saber2187 · 6 pointsr/gravityfalls

For the third question YES it’s worth the read. For the fourth question the difference is that there’s removable pictures where it has more writing under it, invisible ink almost like the show’s version, and a signature from Alex Hirsch. For the last question there is a upcoming coloring book that has its own story and the show’s Twitter page said that it’s totally canon

u/Iveheardofweedkiller · 1 pointr/gravityfalls

I got this one off of Amazon. I really like it! It's a little bit larger than a baseball cap and has mesh in the back, like Dipper's hat from the pilot episode.

u/Alphacoterie · 1 pointr/gravityfalls

If you feel like supporting the creators and animators, you can buy individual episodes for 1.99 on Google Play or Amazon.

u/JR-butterfly · 1 pointr/gravityfalls

I bought it on Amazon and they said they don't charge you until the book ships next year.

and I preorder the book before Black Friday and it changed to $90.00 even though after the sale the book went to $135.00 but since I preorder it before hand my order stayed $90.00

here the new price https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1368002501/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

it might change later but right now it's $135.00

u/ayushman-singh · 1 pointr/gravityfalls

Oh yeah of course! I thought you aer only interested in decoding the crypts.

Also, there's this. But it won't be published until after you've finished your paper.

u/Faller4Life · 1 pointr/gravityfalls

Amazon has the lowest price and free shipping. I bought one and it's really good quality!

u/Joe_Zt · 1 pointr/gravityfalls

I also thought so. Well, welcome to the club. Friends are right here, merchandise is in some stores, theories are still everywhere, and there is no escape. Remember: Disney is an illusion Bill is a hologram buy journal 3 bye!!!!!

u/GrimSanto · 1 pointr/gravityfalls

It's still is, Amazon just got their stock in. Gravity Falls: Journal 3 Special Edition https://www.amazon.com/dp/1368002501/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Pvxyzb7ARHX88

u/TheCipherer · 2 pointsr/gravityfalls

There isn't an official Journal 1 or 2 yet, but there is a Journal 3! There's two editions: the normal journal, and the limited-edition blacklight collector's journal. If you're lucky you might be able to find another blacklight edition for sale somewhere, but they're usually very expensive. The normal Journal 3 is still for sale and more affordable though. Here's a link to it on Amazon. (Pricing may vary in other countries.)

There's also Dipper's and Mabel's Guide to Mystery and Non-Stop Fun and Gravity Falls: Lost Legends.

u/gera_moises · 4 pointsr/gravityfalls

The graphic novel Gravity Falls: Lost Legends has four stories that feel a lot like new episodes for the show.

u/Wav_Glish · 5 pointsr/gravityfalls

I know you still would have to buy it twice, but Journal 3 is currently 43% off on Amazon for pre-order, so it makes it more bearable. If anyone (like me) hates spending more money, here's a good place to preorder.

http://www.amazon.com/Gravity-Falls-Journal-Rob-Renzetti/dp/1484746694/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1457212393&sr=8-1&keywords=journal+3

u/meleelover64 · 1 pointr/gravityfalls

Well, an official version of the 3rd journal is being released soon. You can preorder it here

u/JP_Bounty · 3 pointsr/gravityfalls

You could check here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ENLQ53S/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_b30lub08R0970 our you could just search Amazon for a blue trucker hat and draw a 2 on it, go as Tyron.

u/donteatacowman · 2 pointsr/gravityfalls

It's not coming out until July, but you can preorder it here. As far as we know, only the third journal is being made.

u/Skithiryx · 47 pointsr/gravityfalls

Lost Legends

Don’t know how it snuck by you, there was a lot of talk about t when it was first released.
