Just curious, Is it the Mockingbird Masterpiece?

Anyway, personally i love my Mockingbird it plays great fretboard is definitely great for speed playing sweeping (not that i can very well lol) etc. , the guitar itself is quite heavy but thats because mine has three pieces put together (neck through design) but i could play it for hours.

I did come from a Jay Turser Les Paul copy which was extremely light so i could be just not used to it lol.

Best thing i suggest it go in, ask them to play it and try it out for about 30min to see if it feels right to you cause my opinion on it may be different then yours.

I've got these on it at the moment. They're 30-90, but I think 40-100 might actually be a bit better. However, the 30-90 set works great. It plays like a bass, sounds like a bass, but feels far more comfortable.

Seymour Duncan SH2N Jazz Model Humbucker Pickup - (Black)

This fella suits my playing style very well. I like progressive stuff (Tool, Yes, Rush, et al) - nothing too over-the-top but the SH4 JB and SH2N Jazz give me a great balance of being able to push it hard or have some sparkling clean tones. Read some reviews and specs on some different models and see what you think fits you best of course.

Just a heads up, in the winter time, humidity goes down, not up. Cold outdoor air holds less moisture. The air in your home is going to be much drier as a result of this. This is probably why it might seem like your dehumidifier is not working - it's not producing any water because there's not enough water to pull from the air. Typically, you'd want to run a humidifier in the winter time, or just put a pan of water on your radiator if you don't want to spend money on a humidifier.

With solid body guitars, there's really no need to worry about humidity falling in the winter. Electric guitars are made of chunky pieces of extremely strong hardwoods that can tolerate substantial temperature and humidity swings. For proof of this, just look at how many vintage guitars spent upwards of a decade locked up in a barn or an attic and play just as well as they did when they were first purchased, after a string change and a quick setup.

The only thing I'd advise against is leaving your guitar near a radiator. While the heat won't damage the wood, months of repeated exposure to increased temperature may weaken glue, binding, and/or the finish, which may (but probably won't) lead to damage.

At most, you might find that your guitar may need a slight truss rod adjustment (which will probably lead to intonation adjustments, as well) and that the time it takes to go out of tune might change.

For acoustics, hollow bodies, and semi hollow bodies that are made of thin laminates (most of the more affordable electric hollow/semi hollow body guitars are made of fairly chunky laminates that are more robust), humidity and temperature can be a concern. Guitars of this kind that are made of solid wood can be more sensitive to temperature and humidity changes... In particular, thin soldiwood components (i.e. tops, sides, and backs) are more prone to cracking when they are very dry, abrupt temperature changes lead to material expansion/contraction and this leads to cracking. Simultaneous dryness and temp changes greatly increases the risk of cracking. So its generally recommended to maintain temps of 20-25ish degrees C and humidity of 50-60% around fancy acoustic guitars. I've personally used this humidifier for the past three or four years on the medium-high setting in the winter.

TL;DR - You really don't need to worry about most electric guitars in the winter time. For acoustics, just try to keep the room you store it in comfortably warm at all times and run a small or medium sized humidifier. If you have a more expensive jazz-oriented hollow or semi hollow electric guitar, you may want to do the same. Otherwise, check your neck relief about a month into the winter season and make sure your guitar still plays well. If not, a few quick adjustments will fix your problems.

This is great and i have plans on doing something like this myself. But please wrap those poles in foam or fabric.. I cringe when i see those beuties laying right against wood.
I would use these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01LXXPIQI/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1506352284&sr=1-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=pool+noodle#
Cut it open and hot glue the seem in the least visible direction.

Here is an image of it. I know a lot of people do not like stickers on guitars but I like putting them on to make them mine instead of looking like every other one out there. It is this sticker.

It is a clone of the Quiklok GS-450. The rubber bases at the bottom help keep the guitars from spinning and hitting each other. Really good stand for the money.

I'm adding a humbucker to the bridge position so I need a new pickguard. Just curious what kind you guys would throw on this? I prefer pearloid or tortoise shell ones rather than plain black or white. I'm probably going to pick one of these, but let me know if you know of anything that's better or cooler. https://www.amazon.ca/Musiclily-Electric-Pickguard-Stratocaster-Celluloid/dp/B011QFGG14/ref=sr_1_2?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1522541853&sr=1-2&keywords=HSS%2BStratocaster%2BPickguard&th=1

looks like a cross between a lute and a guitar. hybrid string instruments are fairly common. there are mandolin-banjos, guitar-ukes, etc. try any two, at some point someone probably made at least one.

i'd be surprised if it actually plays in tune though, judging from the missing frets it was probably intended to be decorational, as frets typically don't just fall out.

edit: and the base, that base makes me think "ornamental".

Can you take them off?

Try to put some 3-in-1 oil into them when they are off the guitar. If working that in does not help it might be time to replace them.

Tuning pegs are not that unreasonable. They are even on amazon. The hard part is to find the style you want. Here you want 3 left / 3 right.
Perhaps something like this Neewer 6 Pieces Sliver Acoustic Guitar Machine Heads Knobs Guitar String Tuning Peg Tuner(3 for Left + 3 for Right) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019RJJWI0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_vre2CbKM31A9W

Amazon. Surprisingly hard to find one for HSS configuration with 3 screw adjustment for humbucker. Major online retailers did not have any. Only found OEM on Fender for $40, the rest were on Amazon, eBay, Reverb. Got this one for $11, looks to be the same quality as OEM. Link

If your pickup config is different there are a lot more options out there.

wood dye if you want color, spray tru oil or shellac. You can buy the tru oil spray cans online, not sure if they have in stores.
I recommend this
wood dye.

They make conversion bushings for that problem. I’m also super into the slotted tuners — I put them in everything. I used these ones just a couple of weeks ago.

Once you go coily you never go back.

That isn’t actually my floor. It’s foam flooring (you probably had it in your kindergarten class) which is sitting on top of my hardwood floor. You can find it here.
