Yes, there are lights! A small LED nightlight is secured to the bracket that holds the lower rotor and faces the same direction as the speaker, so both the light and the sound go through the baffle. Good advice. An anti-static wrist strap is a sensible precaution whenever dealing with electronic components, boards, etc. I wouldn't open any of my keyboards without one.

I'm getting an M3 delivered tomorrow, given to me by a friend who is clearing an estate. I locked down the tone generator and when I did, I started it up. There was a whirring, but no sound and I suspect lack of use is the issue. I have oil on hand - is DeOxit something I should do regardless of whether oiling it starts it up? If so, is this the stuff?
