So my personal backpack kind of doubles as my IT "toolbag". A lot of the items I use are mine, some are the company's. The backpack is large enough to fit a 17" laptop, so it's pretty nice.

Mine always has

  • usb ethernet adapter
  • usb wifi adapter (I had gotten a N adapter when I had an old G laptop

  • 3 usb flash drives (usually 2x8gb and 1 64gb)
  • This toolkit, it's a little pricey, but they have smaller kits for less $
  • external harddrive (just cause I have one, usually load it up with my free ware tools like magic disc, partition wizard, etc.)
  • a couple micro usb cables
  • a couple ethernet cables (usually 7-10 feet)
  • sata to usb adapter, super clutch.

I guess all together that would be kinda pricey, and like I mentioned, some of this stuff is just stuff I bought for myself and kept as "just in case" tools.

Essentials though would have to be Screwdriver kit, multiple flash drives, ethernet cables and sata to usb adapter.

Just use your in-wall power infrastructure? Something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Powerline-Adapter-Starter-TL-PA4010KIT/dp/B00AWRUICG/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1521668580&sr=1-3&keywords=ethernet+over+power

They make these in gigabit varieties too, if required. Works great for me. Way better than boosters.

This is for 4 machines but it would be what you're looking for. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001GQ9D2I?cache=ce7bc9f1a825bcd401a4caea294f193d&pi=SX200_QL40&qid=1407127290&sr=1-2#immersive-view_1407127309976
It had audio switching so whichever computer is active is the audio you will hear and supports dual monitor (DVI). Just hook up the dual DVI from the computer to the KVM for each computer and switch computers via the button on the switch.

Pretty much exactly describes my bag as well. I also carry around a few different video adapters (VGA->mDP, DVI->HDMI etc, USB video adapter) along with cables and velcro cable ties and a pair of scissors!

You could try something like this. There are probably better ones, that's just one of the first ones I saw.

Hello :)
the number of allowed duplicate screens is based on how many entries you have on your video card. So if you're using a video card with two entries, you can have 1 duplicate. If you have 2 video cards with two entries on each, you can have two screens duplicated, but not all 4. Sooooo, if you want all 4 duplicated, you need a video card with 4 entries.
Here's an example: http://www.amazon.com/PNY-NVIDIA-Quadro-K1200-VCQK1200DP-PB/dp/B00UPHAT2C/ref=pd_sim_sbs_147_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=41a28Q7YebL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1D3JDAFHG8AXHCVS49YG

This has worked for me: Actiontec Bonded MoCA 2.0 Ethernet to Coax Adapter, 2 Pack (ECB6200K02). you can get it on Amazon, here. You can even hook up a second modem and broadcast upstairs with this solution.

You can disassemble it, and remove the hard drive, load it into either a 2.5" hard drive enclosure or a SATA dock. Then you can plug it into another computer as if it's a USB flash drive.

If you have had it less than a year, submit a request for repair, and don't tell Lenovo you dropped it. Since you don't have any cosmetic damage, they won't be able to tell you broke it, and it will appear as though the laptop is faulty. You'll probably still want to get the data from it before you attempt the repair process.
