LOL. I'll leave D3 being the best D2 experience at your opinion. One which few will agree with, even amongst supporters of D3. My personal opinion is that D3 is a shallow casualized shell of D2 with little in the way of actual customization by comparison. It's fun for a little while, but doesn't have the lasting value or brilliant execution, but that's just personal opinion. But I can 100% say with a complete certainty that the story was terrible and 90% of the improvements to Diablo 3 did not come form the expansion but were an update to the base game, so to give the expansion credit for all of the changed included in that update to the base game is not accurate.
It was a $20 expansion sold at $40.
Even the positive review lampoons it for being overpriced and content light while having almost all the improvements as part of the normal game's update: http://smile.amazon.com/Diablo-III-Reaper-Souls-PC-Mac/product-reviews/B00FENJVOE/ref=sr_1_1_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1
Saying that D3 improved to a good state is fair. Calling the expansion itself good? That's a bit of a stretch there, you're giving credit to the expansion for things it did not do which even the supporters of the game considered overpriced. You're review in that light, as well as many others, shows just how easy it is to manipulate the opinions of gamers based on their lack of knowledge.
Hey brutha! Glad to have you! I think the best place to go next level is team league. That way you can lean on the strengths of teamwork instead of mechanical prowess, that and your team will be more understanding. Playing in a 5-man or 3-man on comms is the best. Have fun making a gameplan. If no one wants to play with you I will :gfistbump:
On another note, I'd look into buying a decent programmable foot pedal. It's pretty normal for people to use them when transcribing so they don't need to use their hands. I'm thinking you can program the pedal to be shift and alt, this way your mouse buttons can essentially double. I've found the Razor HEX to be nice because it has an anchor for your thumb to sit on in the middle and buttons around in a circle.
On heroes, I was thinking mages like Chromie are a good choice. Since you don't want to be IN the fight, but you can unlock your camera, nudge the mouse and get good at longshotting. Brightwing and Lucio would be nice because they use auras, letting your primary job be passive and leaving your coordination to your mechanics. Raynor would make a good DPS auto attacker since your E is automatic, his trait keeps you in the back more and his ults are pretty auto as well.
For specialists, I'd go for learning Zagara Nydus build. You can always be making something happening where the enemy team is not. For a tank, I'd probably go ETC.
For pings, I'd assume you just use the generic context ping. Body language is a good judge of character and strategy. So follow pings, be on comms, or watch behavior and be a team player are probably easier than complex ping setups.
Holding down shift and inputting a command like attack or walk or mount, will queue up that command. I use this to queue mounting and the next direction I'm moving. You can also use this to run to the other side of the map along a path and nudge your view as you go and be ready to do any other commands like attack.
If you haven't done it by now, you probably want to set your quick cast settings to default ON, and then tweak some abilities to ON RELEASE. This will save you 100% less clicks.
Hope this helps! Keep up the good fight!

“ My demise accomplishes nothing. Let's see what yours does. ”
We hope you’re enjoying our Kael’thas Hero Week! What is your favorite Skin or piece of art of this formidable Blood Elf? Let us know in the comments below!
{Image}
By buying a stimpack and playing all free week heroes to level 5 you can amass gold pretty quickly to buy some heroes you want.
I started playing after my friends had already been playing for months so I was far behind on owning heroes as well. There was a really cheap deal on amazon for "buying" the game, which came with a handful of heroes. I did that, played them all to 5 along with the free week heroes, and by then I had amassed a bunch of gold so i was able to buy even more. I did this before loot boxes, players doing this now will get a few free heroes along the way from the boxes as well.
There are also several hero bundles with 20 heroes a piece coming on 4/15. No clue what the price will be yet but I'm assuming it will be decent.
It's just a question of if your friend has more money, or time. Despite being "free" to play, the game is going to cost you one of those if your goal is to own a bunch of heroes.
I actually drew them. Basically started as a fan art project, but then during the lead-up to LotV I got to get contracted to get feedback and approval from Blizzard to make a cleaned-up version with a bunch of new drawings and the LotV units, and now it appears in print at the end of the StarCraft Field Manual, which also came with the LotV collectors edition.
So, the sizes do have ~some~ level of Blizzard approval, but they also are just drawings, not always 100% accurate, and the approval process was sometimes more along the lines of "let's try scaling down the science vessel to 85% of the old size," more about relative sizes than pinning down exact dimensions and specifications. Also, like, take the corsair, that's my own mashup of the SCBW design and the new LotV model, so its dimensions wouldn't precisely match either one anyway.
And of course within the games themselves there are inconsistencies, and sometimes weird tensions between game logic and the real sizes. Like, the dropships shown in SC2 clearly aren't big enough to carry multiple vikings, while they can in-game. I also think they didn't originally intend for Leviathans to be as big as I thought when I drew it.
Basically my thinking for all the Zerg units is that they probably exist at a range of sizes, regular new overlords that are just hanging out over hatcheries could be smaller, but then for a bigger hive much bigger overlords with ventral sacs could grow from the smaller ones when they were needed. And even between individuals there would be variation. So feel free to take all the Zerg units with as big a grain of salt as you like.
(Though there is this piece of official art showing a marine in the foreground of an overlord where he can't be bigger than its head, mine's not too far from that.)
The Retail Starter bundle can get you Golden Tiger Mount, Five Heroes: Sonya - Warrior, Zeratul - Assassin, Zagara - Specialist, Li Li - Support, Jaina - Assassin, Ronin Zeratul Skin for ~$11.
This is a collection of Guides, Resources and tips to help master the game that also includes tips for getting the most value from a new account.
It includes:
So you actually didn't look up the Nexus Challenger or the Nexus Conqueror bundle like I told you to and instead looked up a two year old article. Congrats. Now I know at least you are just trolling.
There. The two bundles. $25. Starter Pack $5 around the web, which I'm sure you can find with your magnificent google skills. Add in RAF and you have a more than just solid roster for barely $30.
Two months ago we had an Overwatch promo that rewarded people with five free heroes. That's almost 30 heroes out of 60 at the time, and I didn't include the free gold you get for leveling heroes and your account, the season rewards, the seasonal events, the daily quests or the Brawls. Stop whining about the price policies. It doesn't take 440 days. You have no idea what you are talking about, so you can keep your baseless assumptions to yourself.
I've been watching a ton of Moderndayjames on Youtube. He's super good at teaching a lot of fundamentals, like constructive anatomy, texture shading, and perspective drawing. Highly recommend. He also does daily sketch streams.
I also recommend Sinixdesign. He uses Corelpainter instead of Photoshop, which emulates more traditional painting feels. (David Harrington, HotS artist, also uses this). And he uses a lot of interesting colours and techniques. He also teaches anatomy really well. He's probably a lot more freeform than Moderndayjames.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EVOXM3S/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1509843362&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=wacom+bamboo&dpPl=1&dpID=31uMU5O4wAL&ref=plSrch
Here's a link to a fairly priced, nice drawing tablet. It's one I had for a while before I lost it. It's affordable, decent sized, the pen doesn't need charge, comes with spare pen nibs, has great pressure sensitivity, and is very responsive. Everything you want.
There's that starter bundle thing on [Amazon] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B012JN98VM/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1487434642&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=heroes+of+the+storm&dpPl=1&dpID=71KVXUHabSL&ref=plSrch).
Its $20 and has 5 heroes, 1 skin, and 1 exclusive mount.
The in game Nexus bundles might be a better deal, but if you wanted to go all out, and if there isn't too much overlap, you could consider this bundle.
Welcome to Heroes man, I use to mainly play WoW, but Heroes has become my main game (my first and only MOBAS just like you as well).
I'm a ran fan of the XB85 Spit Roast system. Sure, it's a bit on the expensive side, but it'll give you great rotisserie for years to come. Think of it as an investment in your future AND your meat!
Here's the system: http://www.amazon.com/XB85-Spit-Roast-Rotsserie-System/dp/B00821BK2Q
EDIT: To be serious, if you're coming into HL for the first time, just have all the latest flavour-of-the-month heroes. They're generally power-creep'd more than the older heroes so it's an easier time.
I use the G13 ( http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G13-Programmable-Gameboard-Display/dp/B001NEK2GE ) and got it on sale a 6 months back on amazon for $40. I would say it is worth it, especially for the use case scenario. Every key is programmable and the software is pretty easy to use. I have it programmed to do every hots (or all of the main ones) and still have multiple keys not used. Also it has 'profiles' that you can save so you can easily switch between fps games, moba, ect with the switch of a button. (also has built in memory so you can use it on multiple computers and use the saved profiles)
I'm not sure I would pay $60 for it, but $40 was too good to pass up. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend in lieu of a full size keyboard. (Although now I am looking to add a mechanical keyboard to my setup and use the g13 as my travel 'keyboard')
My new work keyboard is a Corsair mechanical. I think it's this model (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/k70-lux-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-red-led-cherry-mx-red-na), but I'd recommend one of their keyboards that don't have a textured spacebar as that's quickly driving me up a wall. The keys themselves are responsive and surprisingly quiet.
The keyboard I've had forever was a basic Microsoft Multimedia keyboard, but if you want something with some more bells and whistles Logitech all the way. My old roommate gave me two G15s when she upgraded to mechanicals, and I've been rocking one ever since. I keep the other in the closet as a backup in case this one ever dies, but I doubt it will. It looks like the spritual successor is the G710 mechanical (http://www.amzn.com/B009C98NPY), with the G105 being a non mechanical, and thus way cheaper variant (http://www.amzn.com/B00BBUCCKO).
I also recommend their mice. The G400 I have at work and the G500s at home have consistently been one of the most comfortable models I've used. It looks like they no longer make those models, but the general shape of it seems to be the current G403 (http://www.amzn.com/B01KUAMCV4) or M500 (http://www.amzn.com/B002B3YCQM).
Not that i know of - there are a couple interesting options though -
Other than that the gold gain and hero rotation are actually pretty decent, but I hear you on it being a big investment.
https://www.amazon.com/Dell-15-6-Inch-Quad-Core-i5-6300HQ-Processor/dp/B015PYYDMQ
Get this. You can add an extra SSD and have about 1TB of storage. Game looks great and the laptop is not too heavy. Runs on High-Ultra depending on the patch.
I forgot to add that the speakers are great. Really loud and crisp. One of the best laptop speakers i have ever heard.
Starter edition bundle when it was on sale for, like, $7.
I gave all the Hero codes to friends to help them get started.
She did a lot of it custom but her base is typically based on a book she loves - Creepy Cute Crochet
Does your daughter read?
Li-Li was the face of Mists of Pandaria promotion, before it released, and part of that was Blizzard releasing a short graphic novel about Li-Li adventuring to Azeroth for the first time and looking for Chen. It could be just what you're looking for!
Fun fact: this comic confirms 100% that the Jug of 1,000 Cups is definitely filled with beer and not tea.
I usually recommend to look for:
You'll notice differences in those two things a lot more than most other specs. The GPU is the primary determining factor for game performance, and a number of laptops actually have very low quality displays (grayish blacks that form a gradient which varies depending on viewing angle, causing poor contrast and an overall washed-out picture) that I think should be avoided.
The Dell Inspiron 7559 has a GTX 960M, a 1920x1080 IPS display with good contrast/viewing angles, and should run HotS just fine. Since CPU seems to also be required for this game, know that the i5-6300HQ quad is faster than an i7-7500U dual, for example.
This is the 2016 Inspiron. The 2017 Inspiron is more expensive, and I recommend to steer clear of it (non-4K models of it) due to very poor display quality. If you want something with better GPU than the 7559, see that link for alternatives.
https://www.amazon.com/Heroes-Storm-PC-Mac/dp/B00X0GLXQG
I always recommend getting this pack when this question comes up. It's a good deal for quite a few things
Golden Tiger Mount
Five Heroes: Sonya, Zeratul, Zagara, Li Li, Jaina
Ronin Zeratul Skin
dont wait for that, they already said NO ETA for this feature at all. so maybe at some point next year.
Keep in mind if you guys wanna Gift Stuff to your friend you can buy a Digital Battle.net Gift Card on amazon and that person will get 20$USD to use in the shop anytime he want.
True story: a friend of mine bought a starter kit off of Amazon (probably this thing) except he already had Sonya and Li Li. So what did he do? He gave me the download codes like a GOAT.
...so in other words...he gifted me a couple heroes.
~fin~
I realize that implementing in-game purchases is work, and they've got bigger fish to fry, but the road moneytown is already paved here. I wonder why this isn't possible for individual heroes/skins, or at least other bundles?
It actually isn't a scam! The Heroes of the storm purchase as you can see from this amazon link (hopefully this doesn't get deleted) actually comes with five heroes: Sonya, Zeratul, Zagara, Li Li, and Jaina as well as the Ronin Zeratul Skin and the Golden Tiger mount. That edition is the only way to get the golden tiger mount.
"Starter Pack" Contents: Golden Tiger Mount, Five Heroes: Sonya - Warrior, Zeratul - Assassin, Zagara - Specialist, Li Li - Support, Jaina - Assassin, Ronin Zeratul Skin, and Quick Start Guide
https://www.amazon.com/Heroes-Storm-PC-Mac/dp/B00X0GLXQG?th=1
I highly recommend you look into building a desktop like /u/Pyrohair and /u/Nym990 suggest. The users over at /r/buildapc are very helpful. However, if you want or need it to be a laptop, I use a Dell Inspiron 7559 runs HotS just fine. The link is to Amazon, but you might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.
The most reputable source is amazon, but the price for the whole bundle is 20 USD there which is quite expensive. The bundle contains 5 heroes (Jaina,Zagara,Sonya,Zeratul,LiLi), Ronin Zeratul skin and the Golden Tiger mount.
The tiger mount without anything else can be bought on plati.ru, its cost will be around 5 USD.
Pretty sure the Starter Bundle gives Raynor Muradin and Malfurion + an Armored Horse mount
EDIT : This one gives 5 Heroes, probably the one you are referring to, that's my bad.
> (even more so since you cannot purchase HotS for a retailer on a physical medium).
https://www.amazon.com/Heroes-Storm-PC-Mac/dp/B00X0GLXQG
It comes with a physical DVD, heroes, skins, and even the fabled Golden Tiger Mount!
Thanks everyone! Just got me this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079VRF34F/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I usually just wing it, but since people seem to like them, I've started jotting down the patterns. I'm looking into opening an Etsy shop someday, but until then, have your wife check out this book for the basic body and head patterns.
There's always the HotS starter bundle that's been available for years. $9.71 (on Amazon) for Sonya, Zeratul, Li Li, Zagara, and Jaina, plus a Zeratul skin and a mount. Would probably be better at about $5.99, but not terrible.

The HoTS retail starter pack is not a bad price these days. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00X0GLXQG/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1511117212&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=heroes+of+the+storm&dpPl=1&dpID=51B8xDsvdgL
5 heroes, but they're all older ones. Still a cheap way to get going.
She also stars in a graphic novel that was release right before Mists of Pandaria http://www.amazon.com/World-Warcraft-Pandaria-Micky-Neilson/dp/140122699X
You could give him something like this. He then could use the money to buy gems.

You can probably find it by itself as well.
golden tiger is part of the Hots starter pack, it's not available online I believe.. It's a retail pack - I bought it at release on Amazon for 20€.
15$ atm, if you're in Europe it's around 9€
that's the one I'm talking about:

There is a starter pack. Not necessarily the best heroes in there for new people, but it's something.
