[These] (https://www.amazon.com/Ahnu-Womens-Sugarpine-Hiking-Slate/dp/B00RWPVK8W/ref=sr_1_8?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1498656051&sr=1-8&nodeID=679337011&psd=1&keywords=ahnu+shoes+women) boots are amazing. No break in period needed, lightweight, super comfortable, and waterproof. I love wearing them.
I also highly recommend getting some folding camping chairs if you don't already own some.

Surprisingly, our kid really likes this and this which are both educational. He also enjoys flashcards and doing "circle time"... Watercolors are fun, and easy enough to clean up after.

So, I have done loads and loads of research (literally tried on every pair of shoes at DSW on multiple occasions) on comfortable shoes and finally found some that give me some relief. They're pretty much glorified slippers, but the Sketchers GoLite line has been a feet saver for me. I ordered the boat shoes last week and have a pair coming this week that are a little bit dressier looking. They're soft on top which helps with the rubbing of swollen toes and cushy under my feet. Not sure what your specific issues are, but this line is apparently popular with nurses because they're on their feet all the time.

The book club post was kinda buried, but we've selected two books. The first was recommended by allsortsashenanigans and is Too Loud a Solitude by Bohumil Hrabal, a short literary work from a Czech writer that encompasses themes of censorship, the encroachment of automation, the preservation of art and knowledge. This was so short that we thought throwing in another one wasn't too bad an idea.

Liloving offered up In Sunlight or In Shadow: Stories Inspired by the Paintings of Edward Hopper as our second book. This is a collection of short stories inspired by Edward Hopper's paintings, and it has some "for real" writers like Joyce Carol Oates and Stephen King. darr76 and danger both seem to like the short story collections.

For anyone looking for an easy cooking tip, try this jerk seasoning. I bought it last weekend on impulse at the store and we grilled some chicken last night and then put it on. OMG, it's really one of the best things I've ever tasted, though it is spicy if you're not into that.

Since grilling season is nigh, I thought I'd share. Coupled with grilled asparagus, it was quick easy and freaking delicious.

The Cuisinart with the measuring/storage thing on top is quite brilliant. Once you have your measurements set up, you can just bap it and it will grind exactly how much you want.

Me too. I've read some biographies of him. Interesting guy. Not an easy time with women, though. I read a novel based somewhat on his marriages and affairs. Pretty good read, overall.

I got hugged by a random stranger at Crossroads and it went on a little longer than I was comfortable, for one.

My current grievance is that I'm shopping for horse ball toys on Amazon (our barn has a Christmas wish list, if anyone's feeling charitable) and it's so much harder than I thought it would be. But, it led me to this gem: Uncle Jimmy's Hangin' Balls and I can't stop laughing, especially at the reviews. /u/liloving of course I thought of you... :)

I really like them, and they fit well.

Beginners Guide Magical Licensing! Fun, beach-summer reading! It's more urban fantasy (but not at all dark) than Off to Be the Wizard which is also fun.
We also talked about The 100, and it's terri-goodness and how Good Omens is going to be released soon.

I can't do the instant stuff. I tried it a couple of times. I usually take a little pourover funnel gadget like this because good coffee makes everything else OK.

Maybe also I am up to 3 bikes and need at least 2 more before I will consider my stable adequate. Need a pure speed road bike and a crossbike.

Non-fiction for sure. I do really like history but sometimes its just too dense. I like to switch it up with non-fiction (or some sci-fi) that are kinda self-contained and only relate tangentially to larger events or just a lighter biography. Thinking Shadow Divers, The lost city of Z, Lost in Shangri-La, At Ease - Eisenhower or An American Doctor's Odyssey
