Man I did the same thing! I went from 32+1's to 33+2's and it's been a complete game changer. Enjoy.

As for camera, here's what I got because it had the best battery life of everything I saw: Campark + this housing

Just note that it doesn't come with a MicroSD card so get that as well or in advance of it coming.

That's an extremely over-simplified view of things.
Studies are now showing that weight gain and loss is a function of a hormonal process, not strictly of "calories in/out", and specifically the process/relationship around blood sugar levels and insulin production.
This is a great book if your're interested.

I use a YI 4k Action camera that works great, and is equal to a gopro hero 4/5 black at a lower cost.
Here's some footage if you want to check it out.
As for the mount, I have this baby.

It does look interesting, I am finishing up In the Crease: Goaltenders Look at Life in the NHL by Dick Irvin. It is a bit dated, but I like hearing the stories for guys back in the day.

I have The Power Within: Discovering the Path to Elite Goaltending on my Christmas list this year.

FranÇois Allaire's The Hockey Goalie's Complete Guide: An Indispensable Development Plan looks good too.

Stretching is good. I'd also recommend a pair of CoreShorts (or whatever equivalent they sell now) and a foam roller. Your groin muscles will thank you later.

Unless you're really wide (like morbidly obese), 18" is fine. I bought a 36", decided it was too big, and cut it in half and gave the other piece to my girlfriend.

Are you open to a book purchase? I have this on my bookshelf and I think you might find it very helpful:

Demos with photos of many different save options for hybrid goalies.

I run SmartThings throughout the house and wanted to be able to remotely control the gear fan.

I ended up finding the run timer feature was more useful. Now I hang everything up as soon as I get home, hit the button on the outlet, and that triggers the timer.

Dude a feel your pain, or a least I felt it. Besides what the other guys are saying I would also suggest a sport drink like cytomax (http://www.amazon.com/CytoSport-Cytomax-Sport-Energy-Citrus/dp/B000G72384) which will help with the lactic acid build up and give you a mild boost. I mix up a batch and take it on the ice, you'll want to get a bottle with a straw so you don't spray this crap all over you, but it makes a huge difference.

I am using this bag from Amazon.

It just fits all of my gear and I strap the leg pads to the top/outside using the shoulder belt. The outside pockets are smaller than they look. I use them for little things like laces, tape, etc. I've never tried, which I just put in the main pocket. It also fits into my trunk, a Honda civic, and the leg pads I can also fit into my trunk separately.

But I will caution that it really just fits my gear (minus the leg pads). I had to experiment with how to pack the back to maximize the space, but for the price, I can't complain.

Edit: It is amazon, so you can always buy it, try packing your gear, and if it doesn't work for you, just return it.

Buy this instead of the session.

Should be cheaper and the quality is close to if not the same. You have to buy a protective case for it but in my opinion that is better to replace if it breaks than the actual camera housing.

u/bvkeys · 2 pointsr/hockeygoalies

I have one. I got it as a gift and then I purchased this aluminum housing case to go with it. I've only used it for two ice sessions. It didn't get hit directly but it fell off of the glass a few times before I was smart enough to figure out how to work the suction cup. I've had no issues.

It lacks some of the features the other GoPro cameras have, but if you read through the directions and figure out all of the settings, it's a good camera for just recording games or whatever.

There's also the TendyCam mount which seems like a decent mount for in goal. I haven't purchased one yet but I think that might be the way to go. I figure if I'm letting goals in directly in the center of the net enough for it to get hit then maybe I'm doing something seriously wrong.

I got this unit to store gear in my basement.

I have an adjacent workbench that I set a box fan on top of and aim it at the rack to dry the gear. Nothing touches the floor, and I can store a full set of gear including leg pads, plus room for another set of gloves and a spare helmet.

Wrestling knee pads. I use these as secondary protection and to cushion my boney knees more. I turn them so the gel pad is offset toward the inside of my knees to help with puck protection. I've got Bauer RX8 pads that have the attached kneeguards for primary protection.

u/wingsnut25 · 1 pointr/hockeygoalies

currently i use one of these

I put one hose in each arm of the chest protector, and the glove and blocker occupy the other two. It works fairly well. I also have a dehumidifier a few feet away, but that is working on the entire basement. Everything else gets hung up.

I'm at the point now where I would prefer convenience just as much as effectiveness. Spending the time to build a small enclosed area where I could just set everything in it might be worth it.

Not a problem!

Just to clarify, the camera itself comes with a ton of accessories, the mount I got was separate but <$15 - https://www.amazon.com/GOMA-Industries-Suction-camcorders-Protective/dp/B00NJVC2QC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1550688543&sr=8-3&keywords=goma+accessories

Battery lasts around 1 hr 20 mins while shooting in 1080p, but it comes with a spare just in case you need more time
