Absolutely!
First of all, go out and buy a Haynes Repair Manual. It's super cheap and has Honda's specific techniques for diagnosing and repairing your car. If you're more of a visual learner like myself, YouTube has a lot of repair videos that will walk you through repairs step-by-step. I'm a big fan of ChrisFix's videos because he uses common hand tools, and does all his work in his own driveway.

I was super nervous when starting out, so I stuck to small things like replacing the air filters, windshield wipers, and changing my oil.

([Here's] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ds0-jwm7h0) a Honda Fit oil change tutorial too).

After watching these two videos I learned HOW brakes work and felt comfortable enough to change my brakes, as well as paint my own calipers. There are also videos about changing your fluids (coolant, transmission fluid, etc..) which are just as important as mechanical maintenance.

Not only does this save you thousands of dollars through out the life of your car, but it gives you a sense of pride and accomplishment in doing these things for yourself. The way I see it, I paid over $12,000 for my car. I want to know as much as possible when maintaining this purchase. You buy phone cases, screen protectors and all kinds of protective features for your ~$200 phone, right? Why wouldn't you put the same level of care and thought into something 60X more expensive?

Lastly, Don't be afraid to spend some money on quality tools! Spend a little extra on a socket set, wrenches, floor jack, and screwdrivers. They're universal tools that you'll be using for many other projects. Also go out and get yourself a Torque Wrench! It's a must-have if you're working on your car. (How to use)

Good luck, and don't stress too much! It's tremendously fun to work on your car! :)

Our headlight does 3 things. DRL(Daytime Running Lights), Low beam, and High beam. The type our car support is H4 for the headlights. But it can also go by 9003 /H4 /HB2. The power only fit one way. So, you don't have to turn it 180 degrees.

Here is the installation guide it is the same for the LED headlights bulb that I got. https://youtu.be/uVONQUujsiU?t=1m44s
I did use the rubber boot, and I do not see any moisture anymore in the headlight housing. Also, I didn't not cut any part of the rubber boot. After driving the car for hours. The front headlight housing is the same temp as outside. So, if it is cold day. It will feel cold. So after you put in the metal plate in and lock it in place. Put in the rubber boot so it will seal out dust and moisture. Make sure none of the 3 tabs is facing down at the flood, and also push around the rubber making so it have a nice seal all around it. I notice mine has some area wasn't fully in. So have to put it in to the housing more. Push fit the new LED light bulb in. Making sure the power cable is point directly straight down to the ground. Doing this will insure that the side with a lot of LED side will be facing up. The side with less LED will be facing down. Now plug in the power to the LED. It only fit one way. DO NOT REMOVE any dielectric grease on the socket. It helps prevent rust and dirt. When you plug it in and if you notice a small gap and still can't get it all the way in. I just use electrical tape and wrap around it. You might want to try it first before putting in the electrical tape. Just in case if the LED are defective you can return it.

As for the LED conversion. You don't need to buy anything else to make the LED to work. It is pretty much follow those steps(the video makes it easier to understand.) and you are pretty much all set. It comes with everything attached.

Just remember.
Headlights Type: 9003/H4/HB2
https://www.amazon.com/LED-Headlight-Bulb-Conversion-Kit/dp/B075J8VQDX/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1521933924&sr=1-3-spons&keywords=h4+led&psc=1

Fog lights type: H8 (H11/H8/H9)

All interior lights, side marker, license plate all use the same type: 194 (Other socket types name: 175,194,2825,W5W,T10)
Did you see a massive improvement in the interior lights? It is brighter than the stock ones. This is what it looks like. https://imgur.com/a/gewfk Also, for the these LED if it doesn't work. You have to turn them 180 degree and it will work. Our can only use 8 out of the 10 LED bulbs. Front side marker(2), Front driver(1) and front passenger(1), Back passenger(1), trunk(1), License plate(2). Total of 8 will be used. You will have 2 spare.

I sometimes put my phone just in the cupholder when driving but I don't like it there, it's not a natural place for me to look. It's fine if I just need quick reminders regarding directions I'm already vaguely familiar with, but if I'm going someplace new I feel like the placement makes me look away too much.

This is what I use. It suction cups to the dash and is pretty good at staying put. I put it on backwards so I could angle the arm downward over the edge of the dash so it's not blocking the windshield. Once I had a position I liked, I locked it with 2 part epoxy glue because the heat of the car did make the joints mushy and it wouldn't hold it's position. Once I did that though, it's been going good for a couple years.

I used ProClip for years, but didn’t like the locations for my ‘15 Fit. (Got one anyway). I bought this thing for my wife’s car and liked it so much I got one for my Fit too! I like the small “shelf” it has to keep the phone on the magnet mount on bumpy roads. I just slid the metal plate into my case instead of sticking it to my phone.

I think you will have a very hard time beating Yokohama 185/60R15 AVID Ascend;

https://www.amazon.com/Yokohama-AVID-Ascend-Radial-Tire/dp/B0081ESXKG

I use the R16s on my 2015 EX, great miles, great MPG, good grip, quiet and good ride. Like all tires on the Fit, the rear tend to develop a cupping pattern of wear because of the camber and toe angle - and can start humming if it gets bad enough. However, if you rotate the tires every 5,000 miles or so, they do not do that, and they have really long wear. Those R15s should go over 65,000 miles, if not higher if you take care of them.

I replaced the OEM tires on my 2015 at 27K miles and went to the Yokohama, I haven't looked back since, and we are over 160K miles now.

Inside of solar Honda fit https://imgur.com/gallery/RmQGnf6

This is the solar panel I'm using

HQST 70 Watt 12 Volt... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FK7C4JD?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

With a solar panel, you need a solar charge regulator, it makes sure that you don't overcharge the battery. You need a sealed AGM (or lithium but it's more expensive) battery, because certain types of batteries produce toxic fumes. The battery and regulator I'm using are from Harbor freight because I got them on sale fairly cheap.

I took two pieces of wood, ground them down to mostly the curve of the roof, did the measurements, scratched down the paint where the wood goes, and used professional epoxy to glue the wood to the roof. Then, I drilled a hole in the roof, disconnected the mc4 (the standard plug for solar panels) connectors from the wires on the solar panel, connected them to longer, 12ga flexible wire, ran the wire through the roof, then sealed it with silicone. Then, I set it in place, and expoxyed door hinges to the wood, and then the panel to the hinges and wood. I sealed the edges with silicone.

When you connect new wires, use a LOT of slack. Then, once you have a place for your charge controller, remove the slack and connect it. DC power doesn't like going long distances. Good luck

This little marvel : with an aptx certified phone, it produced amazing quality sound with the 2013 fit sports enhanced speaker kit. One of the best purchases I've made. That and a high quality angled aux cable.

u/emeverywhere · 2 pointsr/hondafit

It’s this thing from Amazon. Not a perfect product (like, the directions say to place Velcro on the inside of your door to secure it, but you have to get that separately) but it’s pretty useful if you’re sleeping somewhere hot/ with bugs/ where it could rain and you want your windows down.

u/attnSPAN · 2 pointsr/hondafit

I have owned one of these since I bought my 2010 (in 2013). I recommend them to everyone and bought them for 3 friends. The long reach works really well with the Fit's long dash; I've got mine about finger distance from my steering wheel #safetyfirst #handsonthewheel

If you don't have the tool, put a flat head screw driver under the brim of the circle between it and the ring. There's notches along the ring where it's easier to slip a flathead under. Pry the circle away from the ring (it's like a fat pin), when it pops out the whole unit can be pulled out of the hole.

To reinstall, while ensuring both parts of the panel/splash guard are aligned and together, push the clip in and secure by reinserting the 'pin'.

These are what I buy, though my wife drives the Fit more than I do, so hard to comment on if they're the best.

OEM wheel locks will slow down your average, walking by thief, but the key can be had rather easily. Gorilla Automotive makes some decent ones that are slightly random where you need to call them with a serial number to get a replacement key for the locks. I don't know if they make ball seat locks for OEM Honda wheels, so you may need to get a special set of washers for them to fit correctly. https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Washer-Convert-Degree-Socket/dp/B00TAE27BC/

9 MOON ABS Varnish Car With Adhesive Radio Shark Fin Antenna Signal Shark Fin Antenna For Cadillac ATS CTS EXT SRX XTS XLR JAGUAR XF XJ XJS XK S-TYPE X-TYPE-Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SWAWO36/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_J4W8ybC3A23YV

Got it from Amazon. I must have ordered it before I fell asleep since it surprised me when it came in two days later. Installation is straight forward, uses legit 3m tape. I just unscrewed the original antenna and screwed this one in. Was too lazy to really measure to make sure it's on there evenly, I just kind of eyed it. Haven't had any lack of reception so far but I love how it looks.

Had the same problem this spring. Did some digging and there are tons of other Fit owners with the same problem that almost universally cited the blower motor and/or blower motor resistor. Dealership quoted me $450 for the repair ($250 parts, $200 labor). Ended up replacing both myself for about $65. The whole process took about 15 minutes.

It is not a remotely complicated repair, but both parts are located in an awkward place if you aren't a tiny person. They're both accessed by removing the tiny panel under the glove box or the box itself. Only ONE tool is required, which is a Philips head screwdriver, but I'd recommend using one with a very short handle to get at the resistor's screws (mine was about 2.5-3" long).

Was very glad to get my AC back in time for summer without dumping an unnecessary $390!

CD Player Mount. IMO best mount type if you don't use CD's ever / often.

Edit: Mixed my quote brackets up

u/spline9 · 1 pointr/hondafit

You're, correct that this isn't related to the A/C. It's just the cabin air system and it's an easy repair. It's mounted under the dash (passenger side). The only difficult part is that its slightly awkward to reach. If you push the seat as far back as it goes and lay on your back (half your body out of the car), it makes it easier to do. Should take about 10-15 mins to do. 5 mins if you've done it before.

/u/civicjohn is also correct. Here is the part you need:
amazon link. The highest speed is a direct passthrough with no resistance. The resistor reduces the power for speeds 1-3 (more resistance/less power for lower speeds). When the built-in fuse in the resistor trips, the fan will only run on the high setting.

If this doesn't work, or the resistor fails again or the air seems to blow weakly, then its the blower motor: amazon link. If the air is weak, then the bearings in the blower motor are bad. This could explain why the resistor blew. Unfortunately the bearings in the blower motor are not serviceable so the blower motor would need to be replaced. The good news is replacing this is just as easy as replacing resistor. Same area, 3 screws.

The resistor is about $20-$25 and the fan motor (aftermarket) is about $55 from Amazon. A Genuine Honda fan motor is really expensive. Something like $450 or in that neighborhood if I'm remembering correctly. If you insist on Genuine Honda factory parts, it's worth checking a junkyard if you have one nearby. BTW, a really short screwdriver is really handy.

Probably more info than you need but if you're like me, I like to know how things work and why they fail. It may also make the repair less daunting for those who may be a little timid about tinkering with their car. Hope this helps.

I use this. Doesn't move and is great for the fit, but it does obstruct part of the LCD

I installed a Clarion navigation stereo over 4 years ago on my 07 Fit Sport. It is not difficult, as long as you follow the instructions. Aside from the head unit, you will need a dash trim kit, wiring harness and an antenna connector adapter. Here's some pictures:
