341179 is 100% the correct KYB Excel-G part# for the rears. If you're having issues getting them to line up, maybe the struts aren't the issue.

I replaced all 4 struts on my 98 base last fall. Everything installed perfectly.

Here is a quick rundown of the part#'s I used. Hope this helps.

This is for KYB Excel-G struts, NOT the KYB AGX struts.

1 x KYB 341177 Front Gas Shock; PASSENGER

1 x KYB 341178 Front Gas Shock; DRIVER

2 x KYB 341179 Rear Gas Shock

2 x KYB SM5486 - Insulator Front Upper

2 x KYB SM5360 - Insulator Rear Upper

2 x KYB SM5059 - Mount Kit Rear Upper

2 x KYB SM5058 - Mount Kit Front Upper

4 x KYB SB108 - Strut Boot

One thing to note, the rear KYB mount kits included the stock length "sleeves"...which retained the rear "shock knock" issue. So I had to replace those with the shorter length part#52728-S30-004 afterward. That part# is only for a 2001, but it will fit 97-00. It's listed as 2001 only because that's when Honda realized there was an issue and changed the actual part. Here is the info on shock knock and the fix for it: http://www.preludeonline.com/f89/write-up-5th-gen-shock-knock-fix-tsb-00-090-a-13702/

Get one of these: Lisle 19380 Spark Tester https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0002STS3U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_EUxDCbE5YDC12

I'll bet you have an ignition problem. This is a quick too you can use to see if the spark is making it to the wires. It's always possible that your distributor is broken even though you just installed it.
