I use Lord Platinums as my personal favorite. And don't stress too much about against the grain. I've found that getting an angled shave going across does wonders for right below my chin and I can't really explain it. There's a lot of trial and error involved with it for the most part to find what suits you best. Finding good aftershave is easy but finding a favorite is the hard part. I'm still experimenting as well but so far I've fallen in love with Bay Rum and it's a very warm scent. I would keep an eye out on /r/wicked_edge for sampler packs on aftershave and what scents and brands tend to be very popular. For a basic after shave lotion that works well, I think Nivea for Men makes a good one that you can find at a store like Target and it certainly helps moisturize afterwards.

Italianbarber.com or west coast shaving are probably my favorite online shops specific shave items and can run some great deals on a big variety of things. Happy shaving!

I hope it doesn't disappoint you, but I'm actually a Redditor mom. :) If you want other Redditor parents to chat with, I hang out on r/Mommit and I'm certain you would be welcome too. There's another Redditor on here whose baby is the exact same age as mine! It's crazy. Apparently lots of us were getting friendly with our partners in December/January. ;)

We found we can get bulk boxes of diapers on Amazon. They even have an Amazon Moms service for anyone who takes care of babies (you don't have to be a mom) where you can get Amazon Prime with free two-day shipping just by buying baby stuff. And you can get diaper discounts. We like to buy big boxes like these. :D

I believe this is what you are looking for:

The Comic Toolbox: How to Be Funny Even If You're Not

>This is a straightforward, often humorous workbook approach to comedy writing as creative problem-solving. In it, veteran Hollywood comedy writer John Vorhaus offers his tools of the trade to writers, comics, and anyone else who wants to be funny. Among these indispensable tools are Clash of Context, Tension and Release, The Law of Comic Opposites, The Wildly Inappropriate Response, and The Myth of the Last Great Idea. Readers will learn that comedy = truth and pain (the essence of the comic situation), that fear is the biggest roadblock to comedy (kill the ferocious editor within and rich, useful comic ideas will flow), and much more.

There are a few academic treatises on humor. Beware though - these are not funny (although they contain jokes and funny things - but purely in an analytical sense - which, in context, drains the humor right out of anything you're going to read).
The two best may be:
Funny Peculiar by Mikita Brottman and
Rationale of the Dirty Joke by G. Legman
These are both dense, heavy reads, and would really only appeal to someone looking for an academic analysis of humor, not (necessarily) for people who are looking to laugh.

These reviews are good, but check out the "Customers Also Bought" section. My favorite is "Help! Mom! There Are Liberals Under My Bed"

> This full-color illustrated book is a fun way for parents to teach young children the valuable lessons of conservatism. Written in simple text, readers can follow along with Tommy and Lou as they open a lemonade stand to earn money for a swing set. But when liberals start demanding that Tommy and Lou pay half their money in taxes, take down their picture of Jesus, and serve broccoli with every glass of lemonade, the young brothers experience the downside to living in Liberaland.

It sounds like satire. It's satire isn't it. There's just no way.

American football is a complicated game. My wife learned the game by reading Football for Dummies. In my experience it is the best way to get a good understanding of the game and it starts from scratch.
Baseball or basketball would be much easier to learn. Even young children pick up on basebally quite fast.

I appreciate that. It just seems bizarre that men are told to act like assholes while woman are told to act like bitches to obtain the interest of the opposite sex. Some of the bits in this article were really quite funny to me, though. I'm a single girl in a big city (happily). It was, overall, an interesting read.

I'm not a huge Pratchett fan, but his collaboration with Neil Gaiman is still one of my favorite books.

Good Omens, wonderful book.

I read this book in high school on a feminism bender. It has a lot of nonsense but I did enjoy the first chapter where she has you say "cunt" a bunch out loud. She's like, isn't this word so much more fun to say and more powerful sounding than vagina? (Which it is really haha.) Isn't that such a shitty word, vagina? (I don't really think so, but she does point out that vagina means sheath which obviously led to statements like "I am nobody's sheath for their sword!!".) The book may have rubbed off on me a little because I do kind of enjoy saying the word cunt, and forget sometimes how much it horribly offends people.

I guess the only thing I can recommend is what I use.

I use this body:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NL0T1G

I use this shaving soap:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001JHEY14

I use a brush that came in a set from walmart back when I started using these 5 years ago.

And for the actual blade, I recommend getting a variety pack and deciding which one works best for you. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0038KA5RC) is an example of one.

I personally like stainless steel blades, but that comes down to personal preference and your facial hair type. If you are just starting I recommend getting a cheaper razor body (my first was some set I got for real cheap, thinking under $20, that came with a soap, a bowl for the soap, a brush, some blades, and a body.)

If you liked this, you might enjoy Joe Hill's collection of short stories.

These are a little darker and could be called "horror" in many cases, but not all. I don't often get into short stories of any genre but many of these were absolute winners.

I don't think you should be downvoted for not getting the joke, but I do think that suicide_king should for making fun of it because he didn't get it.

I do in no way have enough experience to fully explain the joke, but if you read the first few chapters of Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time, you'll probably get it. Rynaxel gave an okay explanation, too.

A ketogenic diet can (after some initial adaptation time - maybe a few weeks to a month and a half) be better for aerobic sports and competition (like running and cycling) than a high starch / sugar diet. The reason is that "hitting the wall" (or bonking) doesn't happen, as muscles no longer use glucose, reserving it for the brain. Muscles use mostly fatty acids and a little bit of ketone bodies generated from fatty acids.

Note: Electrolytes are still needed, since they (mostly Na) are lost in sweat, but not glucose.

This is sometimes discussed in /r/keto and is dealt with extensively in Phinney & Volek's slim volume, The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Performance.

Best wishes in your running. After double knee replacements, I generally walk instead. (sigh)

Edit: I now see this is in /r/humor. Maybe this comment is out of place. If so, I apologize.

Phenomenal. I remember reviews like this for the Wenger Swiss Knife Giant.
