Hey, man. Alrighty. So, a couple of things here....

  1. Even for the same model (e.g. BB960), IBUYPOWER doesn't necessarily use the same components (I suspect that they pull whatever they have available in inventory). So your motherboard could be practically anything that supports an Intel 9th generation CPU. To find out exactly which motherboard you have, run System Info in Windows 10. Then look for the BaseBoardManufacturer, BaseBoardProduct, and BaseBoardVersion fields. That'll tell you what MoBo you have. Then you can Google for that mother board's manual to read through it to see what RAM type and max speeds it supports.
  2. That said, looking at the specs on Best Buy, it comes with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 2666 Mhz. So, if you just want to get identical RAM, then you can buy pretty much any DDR4 2666 Mhz stick. Something like Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-2666MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0123ZC44Y/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=corsair+ddr4+2666&qid=1563028677&s=gateway&sr=8-1) or the RGB version of that if you like that sort of thing ( https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Vengeance-2666MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B07D1WWBL3/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=corsair+ddr4+2666&qid=1563028677&s=gateway&sr=8-3 ) would be just fine.
  3. Also, looking at the video card, you have an NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2060. So, that's a pretty good card. If you were going to upgrade, it would likely be to either an RTX 2080 Super or an RTX 2080 Ti. Either of those will run you about $1K. So I'm not sure if it's worth it to you.

I hope that helps. Thanks and have a good one.

Never replaced the fan actually! Instead of CPU cooler upgrade I disabled hyperthreading in the bios. This made for a massive reduction in temps while gaming. The plan was to just do that for a week or two then pickup a cooler but I never did. I'll likely grab this one when I finally get around to it, after researching it's a nice one worth the extra $20 or so, easier to install and better performing. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C9EYVGY/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A1Z5H6ZGWCMTNX&psc=1

Thanks for replying Brad,

Do you think three fans (2 in front pushing and 1 pulling on the top) will still do a single digit change in temperature? Or should I buy a AIO watercooler for the GPU?

Edit: Even with a more agressive fan curve my temp is still at 82c, 95% fan speed running at 82c. Same as default fan curve.

(tested with PUBG)

Edit 2: Can I watercool my gpu with a NZXT Kraken G12 mount + Corsair H105 240mm liquid cooler?

Ok, somewhat common issue with the Element case. You will need to take the rear side panel off (the metal one) and trace that wire. It will eventually plug into a molex to fan header adapter to plug the fan into the power supply.

It will look something like this product

https://www.amazon.com/ExtremeMod-Computer-Connector-Y-Splitter-Adapter/dp/B00DU8ZZ0O

The loose end of the fan cable plugs into one of the 3 pin connectors (its keyed so it can only plug in one way) and then that should give power to the fan.

I’d forgotten to follow up on this. I went with MICRO CONNECTORS M.2 SSD Mounting... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GN8QHD6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share and that did the trick entirely. Now seeing every so often the computer needing to restart after “something went wrong” message. Don’t think they’re related but having a friend help me decipher things.

It seems to have the best speed and CAS latency combination available. And I wouldn't have paid for Kingston over the other RAM otherwise as I doubt the Kingston Value RAM is any better than what is otherwise provided.

Also for almost as much as the cost to upgrade to 16GB of RAM that I mistakenly chose I can get 32GB Kingston HyperX 2400 memory on Amazon for $148.99

Tried multiple headsets which work on my phone. The exact PC is this one: iBUYPOWER Gaming PC Computer Desktop AM900Z-Intel i7-7700K 4.2GHz, Geforce GTX 1070 8GB, 16GB DDR4 Ram, 1TB 7200RPM HDD, 240GB SSD, WIFI USB Adapter, Light up Case, Win 10 Home, VR Ready https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B073RKHY2H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mu7PDb9KNCHWS

Hi Brad I opened a ticket but just got a reply to send serial number.

I sent it and never heard back from anyone.

Here is the link of the PC that I got:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J4HS6R1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

All my cores go up to 96-97 degrees and sometimes 2 of them over 100C. Computer never shuts down because of safety.

Let me know what to do. I've been running it for 2 weeks and it gets really hot.

Ive been digging through the reviews and answered questions all morning and have not gotten a solid answer. It appears the hardware changes over time/availability. Im no expert but Ive been reading up on recent tech for a few days and I think I have a handle on most of the big stuff.

Here is what I have so far...

Motherboard:

The Mobo on the recent reviews has been Asrock Z390 Phantom 4-IB . apparently the IB stands for ibuypower and the Mobo is not supported by AsRock directly. (and maybe can't use their software? But most of the stuff is managed in the bios if I'm reading it right). The specs for the standard board are here. I have no idea if they match

https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Z390%20Phantom%20Gaming%204/index.asp#Specification

CPU:

Seems standard. A few reviews mentioned the heat sink was kind of meh.

GPU:

Looks like the standard RTX 2070 turning card. Nothing unusual from what I can tell.

Memory:

The memory is 2666 which is not great, but I can live with and upgrade in a couple years.

Storage:

This was a big one for me personally. The on board 240Gb SSD is SATA. Not horrible, but I hate waiting for stuff to boot.start up and wanted an NVMe drive which would get me through a few upgrade cycles. The mobo supports 2 M.2 PCIE Gen 3x4 drives. There is a 1 TB intel on sale for prime day for $94, but there is a much better option that has much better throughput for only $30 more. I figure if the SSD is fast enough that I can keep the machine turned off when I am not using it because the boot time is fast, the electricity savings alone will pay for the extra price.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L6GF81L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Obviously I will have to clone the 240Gb drive and Imhoping there will be no problems running the 240Gb SATA drive together with the 1 Tb NVMe drive. There was one review that mentioned an issue along these lines a the asrock website does have a notation on some drives being disabled when others are enabled.

Here is the quote from the Asrock site:

>*If M2_1 is occupied by a SATA-type M.2 device, SATA3_5 will be disabled.
>
>If M2_2 is occupied by a SATA-type M.2 device, SATA3_1 will be disabled.
>
>If M2_2 is occupied by a PCIe-type M.2 device, SATA3_0 will be disabled.

Oh, and if you get an NVMe drive, make sure to buy a screw if one is not included with the card so you don't have to run all over town finding one.

Heat management:

Multiple reviews mentioned adding fans which is not the end of the world. One mentioned needing to upgrade the heat sync on the board. Make sure to monitor your machine to see if you need to add fans.
