I wouldn’t buy the Apple Folio Case or Apple Folio keyboard. It cost $200 for the 12.9 which is absolutely ridiculously if you ask me. I’ve used the apple keyboard folio and honestly it isn’t worth paying 200, at least for me it isn’t. The Apple folio which is just a case goes for $80. There are much better option on Amazon definitely don’t purchase the folio case. If you can afford it and want extreme portability you could buy the folio keyboard I just think it looks cheap and overpriced.

Case:
I ended up ordering 3 different cases off of Amazon a $4 one, $7, and a fancier one that was on sale for $14. The best one turned out to be the $4 one crazy I know. It Offers the most protection around the edges while being the lightest one. I did have to make a modification where I cut a part of the rubber where the pencil goes to be able to charge it. Looks really good and you can’t even tell I cut it my favorite case so far. If,you’re interested some people posted pictures on how to cut it on Amazon.

$14:

Keyboard:
For the keyboard I ordered a $15 Bluetooth keyboard that is the exact replica of the Apple Magic Keyboard ( $100). So far it works great and looks pretty good despite being plastic underneath. Works great and runs on batteries. There’s a review on YouTube you can look up I would go for the white one as it doesn’t look cheap like the black keyboard. There is also a case that actually attaches your iPad Pro and Apple magic keyboard together I don’t remember exactly what it’s called but if your interested I’ll look it up, here’s the keyboard I purchased:

Additional Accessories;

Apple Pencil is a must have for me as I take lots of notes. It aesthetically pleasing, connects and charges magnetically. It’s taking some time getting use to as it very ”slick’’ on the iPad. To fix this I ordered a screen protector to give the pencil some friction. It’s definitely a must have,
There are a lot on Amazon: tempered glass and matte finish protectors. Some people have complained of Face ID not working with a lot of them so choose wisely. The one I chose is tempered glass and work great. I wouldn’t recommend the matte ones as it does reduce the resolution.

Adapters-
I purchased a usb c to 3.5 mm headphone jack. I got it just in case My Bluetooth earbuds run out of battery, these are pretty cheap and the official Apple one is only $9.

And most importantly I bought Apple Care. It’s a must have for me as I tend to be clumsy and would just rather feel safe if I broke my iPad it would be fixed in exchange for a small deductible. (Sorta small at least compared to fixing it w/o insurance.) Also iPad pros are very thin and aluminum so they’re very prone to bending.

u/JenniOLush · 3 pointsr/iPadPro

Tried the Logitech it was the worst.

Tried the Apple keyboard, offered to little protection, likely caused my 10.5 pad to bend around smart connector (Apple wouldn’t say for sure but they replaced it for free) and Smart Keyboard offered no pencil holder. It was also super floppy and didn’t really work well while on my lap.

Husband bought a Zagg for his 9.7 and finally they came out with a case and keyboard for the 10.5.

The 8 colored back lighting, keys that compress like my MacBook Pro, the rugged case (which will protect from further bending), the long battery life on the keyboard (had it for 2 months and haven’t had to charge once), the magnetic connect that holds more secured than the floppy Smart Keyboard AND the pencil holder— make the Zagg the winner for me!

(Recently it was on sale for $70 and I was able to buy it for $49 months back).

can’t recommend enough.

I got a 64GB iPad Pro 11 around Memorial day (there was a sale on it for like $650). Having had it now for about 3 months now, I haven't run into storage issues yet. I do have PUBG installed, but not Fortnight or GTA.

I do have a terabyte external SSD and a RAVPower Wifi Hub which allows iPad access to the external 1TB via wifi and app even on iOS12.

I think at the 64GB storage level, iPad Pro becomes more like a chromebook than a laptop replacement - an access device for cloud services like Dropbox or googleDrive. On the other hand, I've had laptops with 1TB of storage - and still you run out of space and have to rely on external storage. I think the question with internal storage is when that happens - more storage you have, later that happens, but it does happen to everyone at some point.

For doing "productive" things like word processing, PDF review/annotation, managing calendars and todos, 64GB seems like plenty of space.

If I had to do it over, I still wouldn't pay for more storage on the iPad, but I would pay for more storage on my iPhone - since that has a secondary function as a photo/video camera and that does eat up a ton of storage fast.

On a typical family trip, we take an ancient GoPro 4 Silver, 4 iPhones, and a Sony NEX6 - the dedicated cameras being old devices that don't take 4K videos or high megapixel photos, and still end up with about 80-100gigs of phots and video footage. If speed/reliability of getting FilmicPro footage out of iPhones into a PC via iTunes is any indication, iPad Pro doesn't seem like a good device to aggregate these photos, regardless of internal storage.

IMO, the cost difference for additional internal storage (and LTE connectivity) on the iPad pro is better spent on the Pencil, a nice keyboard and cloud/external storage. Office365 comes with a terabyte of OneDrive storage if I recall correctly - that seems sufficient. I guess the minimum amount of internal storage depends on how one uses the iPad (and it may very well be 256, not 64GB for you), but I personally don't go on a ton of flights (and sleep mostly when I do, or watch in-flight entertainment), mostly review PDFs and use GoodNotes for some note taking - for these uses, for me, 64GB has been enough.

I use the Microsoft Foldable Keyboard here

It has the same feel as a Surface Pro product, which I love. I went to the Apple store and tried their keyboards and they felt so bad, and they were so much more expensive. This keyboard is universal, so it works with every OS pretty much, and is light and has great battery life. I mean I charge it once every 3 months or so and I use it weekly. It’s great. I’d highly recommend it. The only thing is is that it’s not a kick stand case or anything, so you’ll need to carry it around as a second device and have a case for your iPad that allows you to prop it up like the UAG cases, or Unicorn Beetle cases, or even a 10$ one which I love Targus Like this one

Hope I’ve helped. :)

u/VincebusMaximus · 1 pointr/iPadPro

I don't know about mounting, but I have one of these and love it. iPad basically looks like a smaller iMac, and the bonus is that it's useful for other purposes besides being next to your iMac. I use it on the coffee table when I'm chilling and playing guitar and want to search for chords and stuff.

u/AllThatJazz_777 · 2 pointsr/iPadPro

I have the new edition of this and I completely agree, hands down the best case I've ever used for a tablet. No keyboard but very sturdy and protective, and the magnets surprisingly work well to hold it at whatever angle you choose. I think unless the OP absolutely had to have a keyboard at all times with their iPad, they would really benefit from this case plus an external keyboard left in the office ✌

As far as accessories go, I definitely recommend the Apple Pencil. I personally didn't go with the smart keyboard - instead, I opted for a foldable bluetooth keyboard. Others swear by the Apple Keyboard, but I just couldn't afford it.

I've heard amazing things about the Zugu Muse Case, but I personally got the Ztotop Case.

I wound up going with the 11" iPad Pro because it felt better? I recommend going to an Apple Store/Best Buy/Costco/etc., and just handling both devices IRL. I thought I wanted the 12.9", but after holding it for a while, it felt too big.

  1. Anne Pro 2- a very popular mechancial keyboard with nice tactile switches and good looking keycaps, it is wireless and has a pretty good battery life, retails for around $100. I would recommend this over this over anything that I will list
  2. Logitech K780- Very similar to the Logitech K380 below, has mushy circular keycaps but has a tablet stand, also is multi-device, $80
  3. Logitech K380-the same thing as the one above just without the tablet slot, $30-$40
  4. Jelly Comb Foldable Keyboard-this is a small little foldable BT keyboard that retails for around $30, reviews looks good

I recently read reviews of the UAG Scout that rated it quite highly for this purpose. It slips over the Smart Keyboard Folio and protects the back of the case. It's not as slim as the case you had on your older 10.5 though.

I'm using this "paperlike" screen, but only because it provides enough friction to make my writing and drawing less slippery: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QMV54LY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And I'm using this case:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K1M4PHY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That's about all one can do. Once you handle the iPad Pro for a while, you'll realize how "unbendable" it is. It's pretty solid. Just treat it reasonably carefully and you shouldn't have a problem.

u/foreigirl · 3 pointsr/iPadPro

Heres the one I got:

Ztotop Case for iPad Pro 11 Inch 2018 Release, Premium Leather Slim Multiple Viewing Angles Folding Stand Cover with Auto Wake/Sleep (Support 2nd Gen Apple Pencil Wireless Charging), Canvas Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KLY32SK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_pTc0Cb58ATT0B

It’s not minimalistic, but it isn’t super bulky either. I like the different viewing angles and the professional look. It protects the edges too.

u/jennkaotic · 1 pointr/iPadPro

There are a couple of ways you can go... I think the best option for me has been using a filehub like the Ravpower Filehub. That allows me to connect either SD cards or an external hard drive. It will also give you more freedom on where to place the files. I can chose the camera roll or an actual file.

Put some thought into how you eventually want to organize your photos. I also have a lot of photos and am moving to an all mobile work flow. The IPad photos app sucks for organization IMO. What I eventually went with is keeping all my archive files in my Amazon photos cloud account. My current workflow is to review the files on the filehub before uploading and do an initial cull. Then I upload only the ones I intend to edit to the IPAD. I edit the files and upload the edited files to my Icloud albums and then delete all the files off my Ipad. My Ipad only has photos I am actively editing on it... I keep my raw files on portable hard drive and my finished work on my Icloud.

u/iamelroberto · 2 pointsr/iPadPro

Why would you say it’s the best? No spot to hold the pencil, doesn’t flip around backwards, no corner protection, and it’s not really that stable looking when it’s tilted back, as it requires the keyboard lifting up as a result to even get into the proper position.

Honestly I think the Apple designed magnetic keyboard is way better for practical use. Slap one of these babies on and you’ve got protection too. Best I’ve found so far.

I would recommend the ELECOM over the Paperlike. The paperlike feels more like writing on fine cartridge paper resting on glass while the elecom is more like heavier drawing paper. IMO, the Paperlike just isn't paper-like enough. And it's more expensive. Perhaps the Paperlike 2 is going make some meaningful changes?

The key is to have a cheap shell to put them on. I have this one and it was well worth the $12 I paid for it to protect the back of the ipad that’s not covered by the Smart Keyboard.

iPad Pro Case

I have to say this is one of the best cases you can ever get, just check out the reviews. Study enough to protect your investment but slim and stylish. I use this along with the Apple magic keyboard 2. I have tried others but I keep going back to the Apple keyboard. It connects quickly, battery life is amazing, you can use shortcuts (including the top function keys). You won’t regret the Apple keyboard. It’s small enough that it doesn’t bother me and the space in my backpack and it’s not always attached. I don’t need it all the time.

u/haymitchs · 2 pointsr/iPadPro

The Muse case by Zugu. Got mine on Amazon for 60. Absolutely love this case. 8 viewing angles, allows the pencil to charge with the case on and has an elastic pocket to put pencil in when traveling so it doesn’t get lost. Sleep/Wake works. My iPad lives in this case when traveling.

Muse CAse

u/the_steak_man · 1 pointr/iPadPro

I found two cases designed to work with the iPad Pro and Smart Keyboard:

I-Blason: https://www.amazon.com/i-Blason-Designed-Keyboard-Compatible-Protective/dp/B07PQVDHK9
Urban Armor Gear: https://www.amazon.com/11-inch-Feather-Light-Rugged-Military-Tested/dp/B07RPY4PQF

The iBlason appeared to be lighter and lower profile, so I bought it. Note that there’s a v1 and v2, from reading reviews, make sure to get the V2.

Some additional feedback from using it for a week:

The material is soft and pliable, the listing says TPU for the bumper. The clear part is also rather soft and actually picked up a few scratches when I was cleaning it with a cloth! Not a huge deal though, since you can’t really see it installed on the dark case.

I weighed the case by itself at 2.8 ounces. That’s just enough additional weight to be a bit noticeable. it also makes the iPad a bit top-heavy when you set it in typing mode. I’m not sure if it’s accurate but the Amazon listing for the UAG Scout notes the product weighs 5 ounces, which would likely make the iPad quite top-heavy.
