Honestly, I would wait if you can. I bet at CES (early JAN) there will be some newer stuff announced by these two companies. Also, if you do need a phone the BLU Life ONE X is a great deal at 149 at amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0189RMNTG/ref=nav_timeline_asin?ie=UTF8&psc=1
i have replaced the screen on my idol 3 for ~50 or 60$ with something like this. i know that one is from amazon us but i didn't see one on amazon.ca. if your not comfortable replacing the screen yourself i would buy a new phone. also i recommend everyone use a tempered glass screen protector because it can save your screen from cracking.
Buy an Anker Charger with Qi Technology and a good micro usb cable for unproved power conductivity.
