Depends on how skilled you are. I installed a backup camera in mine as it didn’t have the tech package either. It was pretty easy. If you can install a radio you can do this.

I bought this camera Moonet Car CCD Backup Rearview Camera for Nissan-370Z 350-Z Waterproof Night Vision https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J21TNTW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_Ln5GAb3WS5H49

and it pops right in with the factory bulb and all

Then a mirror screen like this

Zone Tech 4.3 Inch TFT Car Auto LCD Screen Rear Monitor View Rearview DVD AV Mirror https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ANRCX1Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_Io5GAb7PEDJK4

All you do is connect the power for the camera and the mirror to one of the positives on the reverse light and you’re good to go. Mine works fantastic. I added a splitter and a 3 position switch so i have a front parking camera too just for fun. But the idea is the same. The backup camera I’d recommend to anyone. It comes with parking lines albeit you gotta get use to them because they don’t necessarily line up with where the car will back up into, but you can get use to the lines as reference points.

As for Nav, i put this in

Infiniti 75130509 G35 Sedan 07~08, G35 Coupe 08~11, G37 08~12, EX 08~12, FX 09~12, G25 2011 Mount for Cell Phones/GPS and other Small Electronics in Car/Truck https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004BVKW2K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_0q5GAbJARV0TZ

it’s super easy instructions all you need is a Phillips and a small flathead. I personally prefer my phone for nav because it’s updated, nice, traffic, easier to type and use. Plus i don’t use my phone while driving so it’s either on the mount being used for nav or off and playing music

Then this magnetic phone mount lets you stick and remove your phone from the mount super fast and easy.

Universal Magnetic Phone Holder, FITFORT 360°Rotation Magnetic Car Mount Holder for Cell Phone GPS Tablet iPhone X 8 7 6s 6 Plus Galaxy S8,S7,S6 Edge,Note 8, 5, 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07541F5Y8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_Kr5GAb6AV1VCS

I didn’t have much choice for my car to be picky because the 6mt sedans are so rare and this one was $4k and thankfully i was the first person to contact the seller or else i would still be kicking myself. I’m pretty handy and cheap so i add whatever feature i want into my car.

Well I will post them but if you look it up on amazon you can put your make and model in to see if they’re compatible on the page you make the purchase on. Again I know it’s for the vq35 and vq37 engine. If your vehicle is compatible you will need to purchase 2 as they only ship in singles.

I’m assuming m35 signifies the vq35 motor for your vehicle? Should be good to go with that. They went in like a dream and I’m really enjoying the increased throttle response.

K&N 33-2399

Let me know if it works for you and if you end up getting them I want an update on if you notice performance increase! Lol good luck

Are intakes an option? Cheaper than an exhaust and still makes nice sounds. Honestly there aren't any mods I know of that'll give you sporty/ more aggressive sounds for under $100 outside of a muffler delete.

You could try a used 370z custom exhaust and fit it to your car. I know stock, it's one large sideways mounted muffler with exits on both sides. I've seen custom builds with dual mufflers (1 muffler on each side of the car like the sedans).

Rev9 makes a SS true dual exhaust for the 370z and it sells for $345. Sounds good, but may need some fabbing to fit right or to fit on a different vehicle. Great price.

You can buy 2 nice stainless steel Borla mufflers for like $99 each on ebay, but it's not for a stock fitment, you'd have to fabricate a new true dual exhaust from the Y-pipe back.

Tanabe makes a nice SS axle-back exhaust kit for coupes. There's also a knock off version on Amazon for only $229. It comes with all hardware and gaskets.

Tanabe version is close to $800 on Amazon.

TopSpeed Pro axle back muffler delete pipes look really nice and sell for around $300 for the kit and all necessary hardware.

When searching parts, don't forget your car is a G37. You'll probably find things easier to locate online vs looking up: Q60 version 1, pre-redesign, non turbo, etc.

The first guy who commented was correct.

You get what you pay for with led bulbs. $0.40 Chinese led bulbs will be typically be pretty blue and dim, with short life expectancy and limited warranty/support. I went through three cheap sets in my first year of owning the G37 actually.

The ones in your eBay link have 5050 led chips which are older and don't output as light as newer led chips like 5630, 2835, 5730.

I would suggest Diode Dynamics HP5 bulbs in 6000k for maximum brightness and reliability. $20/pair of bulbs (you'll need three for doors, dome, and license plate, maybe four if you want to do the trunk too). Pricey but I can vouch that these are bright, true to color, and won't flicker within a few months. Plus 3 yr warranty with solid customer support. They also have some cool easy diy tail light and fog light mods.

On the lower budget spectrum, these Amazon sets have newer 2835 led chips which are a lot brighter than 5050s. The build quality is good but I'm unsure on longevity since I only tried them for a week or two now on our Honda Accord.

This is a great write up - love seeing this type of content.

To others thinking about doing this work yourself - it is extremely easy and can be done in the comfort of your driveway with some jack stands. The lift makes your life easier, but it's very doable without. Pay particularly close attention to loosing the the fill bolt before you loosen the drain bolt to save yourself the potential of calling a flatbed to bail you out of that jam.

Here's the fluid pump I bought that works great: https://www.amazon.com/Plews-55001-Lubrimatic-Standard-Bottles/dp/B000BQW5LK/

Hey,

Welcome to the VQ Family

First things first, the best thing I could recommend to you (and all the new peeps around here) is to check G35Driver.com out. It's a gold mine when it comes to information and tutorials. You could probably find your dream wheels there.

LOOL I just checked your video out and it turns out that it's my car ^^
It's a custom Straight Piped exhaust and it's pretty easy to build yourself.
You need to hit an exhaust shop who can build it for you.

You will need a Magnaflow X Pipe and Exhaust Tips.
The rest is straight pipes. The Magnaflow Muffler is going to muffle the sound down and give you a deeper note while reducing rasp and drone. Here's a picture from under my car: http://imgur.com/D2oIcuP. It's going to cost you around $7-800 but I got hooked up by my shop since I recommended tons of people to him and I have been a long time customer since I had my 350z. I have seen people getting quoted as much as $2000.

For your wheels, check GetYourWheels. Personally, I like 5 Spoke Wheels like Avant Garde M550, Vossen CV3 or Stance SC5. If you want to go through a lot of G35s to see different wheel combinations, take a look at our car club, the National G Club ;)

Let me know if you have any question ;)

Only phones with Android 5.0 Lollipop officially support outputting audio through USB, and I have my doubts that that your stereo could receive that.

Otherwise, connecting an android phone via USB will only allow you to play music stored on the phone, and only if the head unit accepts the MTP (Media Transfer Protocol,) which is what all Android phones use since version 4.x (Ice Cream Sandwich.)

Older android phones show up as Mass Storage Devices, which your head unit almost certainly supports, but this is no more useful that just plugging in a super small flash drive into that USB slot, like this one or this.

If you have experience installing speakers in your car you could save some dough by doing them yourself but they’re not the easiest to install in the rear deck. You gotta remove a good amount of plastic to get to the two 6x9s and then there are two speakers in the rear seats as well that you need to remove the rear plastic. The front door speakers are easy but you gotta buy spacers for them. As far as brands go, for the head unit this Sony unit is awesome Sony XAVAX1000 6.2" (15.7 cm) Apple CarPlay Media Receiver with Bluetooth https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JDFKQJ5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ZH9NDbN89V8BH and speakers Pioneer TS-G1620F 600 Watts Max Power 6-1/2" 2-Way G-Series Coaxial Full Range Car Audio Stereo Speakers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A0LZHYS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_fY9NDbGY26QS0 and rear speakers Pioneer TS-A6965R 6" x 9" 3-Way... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A0LXRL8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
And you’ll need these spacers Nissan / Infiniti 6.5 Inch Black... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007ZQVKYM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share all for under $1000 bucks!

Thanks! I'm trying to restore/improve it every chance I get, headlights are a good idea. I've already replaced interior lights with high quality LEDs, and installed projector courtesy lights, it really is such a nice feature for so cheap and easy to do! Next project is installing a dash/backup cam mirror kit, can't wait!

Here's the best way to handle this. I'm making assumptions that you have a smartphone and the RCA jacks in your car's armrest.

Get the following.

  • a wired to bluetooth transmitter
  • a usb car charge port
  • 3.5mm to rca jack cable (as short as possible)
  • a cd player mount for your phone

Take the 3.5->RCA cord and plug the RCA ends into the aux jack inside the armrest. Put the USB charger in the 12v socket that's also in the armrest. Take the bluetooth transmitter plug in the power (with the supplied micro USB to normal USB cord) and plug in the 3.5 end of the RCA cord to the jack on the transmitter.

Once the car is on and the transmitter is powered up, pair your phone to the transmitter per the instructions that came with it. After its paired, put all the wires and the transmitter in the armrest and forget about it. You'll never have to deal with it again unless something goes wrong.

Now take the CD player car mount, and turn it so it's horizontal. Put your phone in it and adjust the sides to make sure it doesn't slide out. Switch your car audio system to AUX and leave it there. The only downside is you can't control the audio from the steering wheel. The only thing you can do is adjust the volume.

Now you have an always updated nav system that has guidance and the ability to listen to all your music via the car stereo. I wouldn't try any other BT transmitter. It's the key to the whole deal and I know that one works. The rest of the stuff is universal and pretty generic. You may have some/most of them already. You can really shop around for the USB charger, RCA cable and CD player mount and get the cost down more. The whole setup should be around $75 or less.

This is by far the most effective, economical way to get what you want. There isn't really a way to update or modernize the stock equipment outside of buying a new car. I'm pretty sure that's by design.

I'm using these in my G37 and wife's RX350, they work very well, and have nice mesh pockets for toys and stuff:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BSJXF82/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

These keep the seats protected quite well, and they're cheap.

u/voide · 1 pointr/infiniti

I have this one from Amazon and it works great. I'm no audiophile by any means, but I am quality conscious and I've never noticed any issues.

Edit: Just found this one which looks similar, is cheaper, and also has great reviews.

Grille looks good with the Takeda, man. I'm running this filter instead of a shield. Ended up fitting perfectly https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NCJI7V2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I had a ProClip in my old Y34 M45.

You can get CD drive holders as well. Much easier, if you have the clearance.

An example is this. Check out the reviews for it.

You could maybe try an adapter, I have an iPod nano that wouldn't charge so I bought an adapter, I'm not sure how that would work with the lightning to 30 pin though. Here's a link to the one I bought, maybe it'll set you on the right track.

Hope this helps
