(lol I found that from here, http://sellercentral.amazon.com/forums/t/longest-title-on-amazon/206324 It’s like an off-site /r/titlegore 😂)
Lol it happens, I normally clean mine every couple months and check it every so often to make sure it's clean. You can also blow in it as you clean with a toothpick to get any extra stuff out.
I have a couple of these brushes for cleaning phones I repair they work great.
http://www.amazon.com/ShaverAid-Electric-Shaver-Cleaning-Brush/dp/B001CJ693A
It's hard to say because that's a more advanced section of computer science called architecture and I learned it in a college setting. With that being said, I've heard good things about this textbook. Hopefully whichever book you pick up on ARM assembly will have a few chapters going over how the processor functions.
Good luck! :)
Sony has stayed at the top of the portable audio industry for like the past 40 years.
They still make some of the best Hi-Res portable media players with super high quality DACs/headphone amps that range from $180 all the way up to $3k+.
They also recently developed LDAC to go along with their portable players, which is arguably the highest quality Bluetooth codec available right now. It actually allows all but the highest tier lossless audio formats to playback via bluetooth without quality loss. Very few headphones can actually receive LDAC yet (most of those that can are made by Sony of course) but you can get pretty affordable bluetooth receivers, like the FiiO BTR3, that will give any wired pair of headphones the capability to use ultra high bandwidth/low latency bluetooth.
I've been asking for this for a long time, same reason as yours. The closest I've come is [[SpeakNotification]] It can be set to output notifications to the phone speaker with bluetooth connected. The tone is overlaid with a voice - I had it set to announce the app name. Not perfect but a pretty good workaround.
The other solution for me is to use bluetooth earbuds that have the "smart magnetic switch" capability like these: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-SoundBuds-Headphones-Technology-Cancellation/dp/B01NBOPJW2/ref=pd_sim_107_5?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01NBOPJW2&pd_rd_r=XTH3ETHBZEAGB630K3RW&pd_rd_w=NQuNl&pd_rd_wg=TCObx&psc=1&refRID=XTH3ETHBZEAGB630K3RW
So, when I pull the earbuds from my ears I just snap them together magnetically and they disconnect which will allow the notifications to be heard at the phone speaker.
Check these out. These devices stream music, and can also call, siri, and voice memos. This is an FM transmitter, but the music quality is quite superb, it is unlike any other device I've had experience with.

I own the SMARTmini model, and I've had it for almost 2 years, and it has worked flawless for me.
Ok so this is the amazon hub I have
http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-4-Port-USB-2-0-Ultra-Mini/dp/B003M0NURK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407942392&sr=8-1&keywords=amazon+basic+usb+hub
Apple decided to put a software power limit to the USB CCK (Camera Connection Kit) a few years ago. The hardware is capable of outputting 100ma, but Apple limited it to 20ma. The trick works by making it think that there are 4 ports instead of one, meaning the iPad gives the hub 80ma, and then the hub can give 80ma to the usb stick. I believe that is how it works anyway.
Might I ask where you will be getting the usb sticks from? Will they be given to you (in lectures or from friends etc), or is it so you can plug in a usb stick back and forth from a computer? The reason I ask, is if it is for your use, I have found that the SD card CCK is much better for this. The SD card reader has no power limit, so no hub is required and it works for any card (formatted in FAT32/HFS+) - so 128gb cards work, and most likely 256gb cards when they become reasonably priced :P. Its a lot less messy (only one cable sticking out), and for the times when I want to plug it into a computer with no SD card slot, I can use a USB 3 to SD card reader;
Something like this (I'm in the UK so not sure of the best US equivalents)
http://www.amazon.com/Transcend-Information-Card-Reader-TS-RDF5K/dp/B009D79VH4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407942666&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+3+sd+card+reader
In terms of speed its the same as USB 2, and when it comes to mounting them in iFile its exactly the same as USB CCK. And I think the same price for the SD kit over USB and SD card prices are the same as USB sticks too.
Let me know whether that sounds better or if you still require USB. It really just depends on how often you are going to be doing it, I certainly wouldn't want to take out the hub in the middle of lecture or something - would kind of defeat the purpose of the mini :P.
You may have already searched for it but here's an Amazon link so you can see what they look like.
They screw into standard medium light bulb sockets but they're color changing LED lights that connect to your WiFi network so they use less energy, can light up your room in color, and you can use your phone to control them.
There are several neat apps out there for them including some that react to music. In this tutorial I'm taking advantage of the fact that they connect over the network to use them for notifications on your phone.
ok i got you, but i really dont think this course will help you with that. there are books that cover exactly that topic like this one here
https://www.amazon.com/OS-X-iOS-Kernel-Programming/dp/1430235365
doing the course AFTER reading this book, will probably have a greater learning effect
If the dad paid for the phone or is paying for the plan, he can dictate the terms of use of the phone.
The easiest way to circumvent this would be to do a DFU restore of the phone and lose the jailbreak, and then see what the father does when there's no jailbreak, but OP and gf might not like that answer.
Another cheap thing to do is buy a cheap android phone. It is a small price to pay for privacy.
Also, do not underestimate what this guy is likely to do.
This little guy right here which costs $10 and costs $5 per month to operate does a very good job of tracking about anything, as long as you can recharge it every 5 days.
I just got one so my gf can track her adult brother, who has severe mental illness and often isn't capable of answering his phone to report his location. Is it legal? Don't know, don't care. Will we tell him? Not sure. Will it save his life? Quite possibly. Will it be trivially easy? Yup. Would OP's gf's dad do something like this to OP's car or the gf's car? quite possibly, it doesn't cost much.
At some point, she's got to assert herself, and she's got to be willing to be yelled at a little to pop that cherry (no, not THAT cherry).
Rather than a book, I highly recommend watching the Fall 2011 Stanford iOS development course. I had spent a whole summer going through this book and, while the book is decent, it only briefly touches iOS development.
A year later, I'd forgotten most of what I'd learned, and finally had an idea for an app. After spending about two weeks watching the Stanford lectures and doing a few of the course assignments (which are all available to download) I was ready to start in on my app, just going back in to watch a lecture here and there on big topics like Core Data and concurrency and learning the rest as I went from the documentation and Stack Overflow. And now I'm preparing to put out a beta at the end of the month. I highly recommend the course.
EDIT: The course does assume you have a decent amount of programming experience, which I did as a Computer Science student. It may be harder to get through if you haven't programmed in something like Java, C#, etc and don't have a basic understanding of code patterns.
I've never bought off eBay, just amazon. You get better reviews from people on amz and usually pretty fast shipping. iPhone 4 parts vary between carriers so I wouldn't trust that it would fit the 4s. http://amzn.com/B00B5QXOAQ
That's the one I bought, works fine and went in without a hassle
iPhone 8 7 Screen Protector, Maxboost (2-Pack) Tempered Glass Screen Protectors for Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 7 / iPhone 6s 6 2017 2016 2015 Phone [Worry-Free Install] Compatible 3D Touch and most Cases https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M7MAN4Z/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_WHVfAbJ95FXFP
8$ comes with 2, lifetime warranty. They are super nice and strong.
I think the 5s has uses the same process as the 5. I just replaced mine a couple months ago. Very easy process.
https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Battery-iPhone-ScandiTech-Repair/dp/B011IZFDKM/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1480793502&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=iphone+5s+battery&psc=1
They make a great product, excellent packaging and instructions.
Really it's two screws on the bottom, pry off the screen with the included tools, unscrew a small cover plate, unplug, remove battery....etc.
Best option:
https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-109722-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Splitter/dp/B00AJHAYCS
Technical limitations of bluetooth only allow one device of a kind to connect to another device.
Ex. A mac can't use 2 bluetooth keyboards.
EDIT: Free option to do this(requires multiple phones though.) AmpMe
I got mine at a walmart for really cheap on clearance. It’s crappy but works. I’m sure you could find something better though. Anyways here it is (https://www.amazon.com/Virtual-Reality-Smartphone-Headset-Android-iOS/dp/B07DNKP87X/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=Dream+vision&qid=1566639210&s=electronics&sr=1-5)
btw look around your local walmart or dollar store. They could have one sitting in a clearance bin sometimes. I see them all the time for like 2-10 dollars.
I just got the long Amazon Basics cable. Cheap, MFi, good company. As for charging brick, yeah I used the iPad one for a while. Now I'm using this one so I can charge my tablet and phone at the same time. UL certified is a good way to go.
