They're fun and pretty cheap. Most of the hammocks work for any type of warm weather use. For most uses you don't need to spend a lot of money on them unless you're looking for certain things. I can say that the first one I bought had a bug net attached to it. If you're tall it's not the best because it makes it a little more awkward to get out of. I went with the Chill Gorilla and I like it a lot more then the other one. Always down for meeting fellow KC peeps :) I'd really like to have a camping meetup some day for those interested. I just imagine a hammock city and it sounds awesome

I work for a sock company in KC and we have booths at the Holiday Mart and Holiday Boutique. We have these weed socks that sell pretty well, but people would buy stacks of socks and the weed one would be wedged in the middle of the pile. This year, people were openly laughing and talking about the weed socks (and these holiday socks), telling us they’d be perfect for so-and-so, and purchasing them proudly. Their attitudes have completely changed in a year.

I lived in Phoenix for the last few years and i could not believe they had an outdoor venue similar to Sandstone that only operated over the summers. Like you, i refused to pay for tickets to any concert held there. I actually scored free tickets because of Ticketmaster’s class action lawsuit and was able to see Weezer and the Counting Crows separately. Like you, i read the rules. I timed my entry into the venue just before the headliner played. By that point i was stuck in the back of the grass lawn. I brought in my 1 liter bottle of Aquafina, which was super cold from the cooler in my car. I buy drinks. For the second concert, i bought and brought in an inflatable lounger from Amazon. It was neither comfortable nor uncomfortable. Plus i couldn’t really see the band when i sat/laid in it. https://www.amazon.com/Inflatable-Air-Lounger-Bag-Hangout/dp/B01GIREC8E

But to answer your question/concern more directly, i attended an Everclear concert at Sandstone about 4 years ago with a $20 GA ticket. At least the back section of seats were open to GA. This particular show didn’t sell out so i didn’t have a problem finding a seat when i got there (around 7 i believe).

Like you, i don’t like paying for over priced drinks, especially if i can’t get drunk because I’m driving home. I’d much rather find some new or obscure band that is playing for $20 or less at a small to mid size venue. If i want to drink, I’ll plan to be dropped off or take public transit to the venue, drink my $5 beers, and then Lyft home.

I’ve been following this approach for at least a decade. At the beginning, i still wanted to see the super popular bands but didn’t want to pay for $50+ tickets when they came through town on their tour, so i could splurge and go see several of these big bands at music festivals like ACL or Lollapalooza, where the per band cost was lower. Some festivals have VIP sections closer to stages with seats. But expect to pay $$$ for that.

I know you aren’t disabled, but if you can’t stand for more than 15 minutes, you might consider getting a wheelchair and playing the part... calling ahead to the venue and saying you want to see the show but are currently limited to a wheelchair due to a knee surgery. ADA is a big deal to these venues so they should be accommodating.

Go to 888 market! They will have everything you need. If you get more into Japanese home style cooking definitely go to Yoki.

I don't know about classes, but this website has a good three part series on making sushi. Starting with how to prepare sushi rice. If you and your family get more into Japanese cooking look into buying this cookbook a lot of the recipes are modified to be more suited to American's tastes and contains ingredients easier to obtain here. Also if you are going to be buying sushi rice try making onigiri with Korean nori. My favorite fillings are cha shu pork or if I am feeling lazy Trader Joe's smoked salmon. Happy cooking!

You have a very valid point.

My name is Corwyn Paul Gentry, this is my first Dungeons and Dragons book that I have published. It is called the Landon Goblin Manual. It is a manual for D&D players to include 50 goblin tribes into their games without having to do the tedious work. It includes personalities, alliances, mortal foes, history and more.

Now I am a 17-year-old male who I would like to say is kinda amazing. Haha but no really right now I didn't mean for this to come off rude I am just very excited to be doing a book signing. Now, why you should meet me? Well in my personal opinion I think almost everyone would have a good time if you came out and not only that with my future plans the whole world will know of me before I'm 40. Anyway, I thank anyone that comes out and thank you for giving me advice as well as commenting on this post.

This is the book where I discovered the history. It tells it chronologically, with great old photography of the city. I found it years ago at Barnes & Nobles right after I moved to KC, and it really accelerated how quickly I fell in love with the city. I was working on my graduate paper, so I had free time whenever I wanted, and I used that book as a guide to explore the city and see the places I was reading about. It's surprising how many cool and/or beautiful places there are in KC that most people don't know about or just drive right past every day.

Huh. Very good! Also - if you guys are interested in this /u/tacitus's reply, you might like the book How The States Got Their Shapes I read it a few years ago. Pretty great.

Someone already mentioned [Kansas City and How It Grew 1822-2011] (http://www.amazon.com/Kansas-City-How-Grew-1822-2011/dp/0700618821) by James Shortridge, but I will second this book. Hands down the best for overall Kansas City history. It is a beautiful book too.

I don't know your budget, a Traeger looks nice but $$$$$$. I just got a Masterbuilt 30" Gen II electric however i think the Gen 1 are better and a better buy

Masterbuilt Gen 1

I like mine however, the temp controller seems to be off about 10+ degrees on the high side. I actually have to contact the company and see if they can get me a new controller.

I"m not sure if the 40" masterbuilts have the same issue or not but keep in mind that you should probably verify the temp of the electric smoker controllers no matter which one you get.

A huge resource if you want to do some research is Smoking Meat Forums

My friends have had this one several years. We tried it and think it feels great. My wife and I are going to get it here in a month or so when we move.

There are wall mounted AC units that can be DIY'd and run on 120, but that is probably more than you'd like to spend.

Could you perhaps use extensions on a portable AC unit or fab up a hose with a booster fan from your wall unit to the bedroom? Neither would look great, but they might be effective.
