5. Kegco BF EBDCK-5T Conversion Kit, 1 Faucet with Tank, Deluxe

    Features:
  • DUAL GAUGE REGULATOR: Durably constructed to deliver a consistent flow pour after pour, this Kegco 762 Commercial Grade Double Gauge Regulator features a T-style adjustment valve that makes it easy to adjust the pressure inside of the keg. The gauge on top of the regulator indicates CO2 pressure in the keg, while the gauge on the side indicates the remaining volume of CO2 gas. A pressure release valve is conveniently located on the body.
  • LEVER HANDLE KEG COUPLER: This NSF-approved Kegco KT85D-L "D" System Keg Coupler features a sturdy nickel-plated forged brass body with a stainless steel probe, and is designed for use with all domestic brand American D system Sankey kegs. The lever-handle design is easy to use - simply pull out and then down on the handle to couple the keg. A 55-psi pressure relief valve makes this coupler even more convenient to use, allowing over-pressurized gas to escape before it enters your keg.
  • DOOR MOUNT STAINLESS STEEL DRIP TRAY: Our 6" x 4" door mount drip tray's clean design, durable stainless steel construction, and attractive brushed finish have made it a favorite of beer lovers. Hassle-free from start to finish, this drip tray can be quickly and easily mounted using the two screw holes in the backsplash, and when you're done dispensing for the day, a removable grill makes clean-up a breeze. This drip tray does not have a drain, so it will need to be emptied manually.
  • HEAVY DUTY FAUCET WRENCH: Make repairs and adjustments to your draft beer system like a pro using this heavy-duty faucet wrench. This durable metal wrench has a vinyl coated red or blue handle that provides an easy grip while loosening or tightening shank collars, allowing you to quickly attach or remove your faucets without scratching them.
  • INCLUDES EMPTY 5 LB. ALUMINUM CO2 TANK: All of our brand new tanks are made from high strength aluminum alloy which is not as heavy as a steel tank and will not rust! These eye-catching tanks have a glossy red coating that acts as an extra layer of protection against corrosion and wear.

I use this. It's a little pricey considering that it's just a weed sprayer adapted to a beer line coupler (you could figure this out yourself for cheap), but it makes everything simple. The amount of cleaner needed per treatment is about a shot-glass full, so that cleaner lasts a long time.

And I usually clean after every keg, but not always. Really as long as your home environment is clean and your beer lines are running (not dormant for weeks), you could clean pretty sporadically if you really wanted to, but I prefer to clean them.

It's not really time consuming. Just hook this thing up in between a keg change. Run a jug with cleaner through it, then run a jug of clean water through it, then tap the next keg.

I would say a tower fan like this to control temperature in your tower and also a thermostat like this Johnson controls to keep temperature consistent. Also forward sealing faucets like perlicks to prevent your tap handle from sticking.

A setup like this.

https://www.amazon.com/Kegerator-Beer-Line-Cleaning-Kit/dp/B074P1CX6J/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1550265819&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=tap+cleaning+kit&psc=1

It leaks, takes multiple fill / flush cycles and I have to disconnect the lines at my tap, drains down the lines into kegulator and that introduces moisture into the kegulator contributing to frost and ice buildup on the condenser coils. My idea hopefully somebody can make this... acts just like a beer keg but smaller so that I can easily fill it in my kitchen sink and would not require any lines to be disconnected and cleans the coupler all the way up and out through the tower and faucet.

Not sure what you typed makes sense...

You want to make a kegerator OUT of a keg?

Everything else you posted is subjective and depends on your preferences or what you want to accomplish.

If you want to build a kegerator, you can buy a fridge and this kit - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0036UTZL6

It's the exact one I bought, and I found a $100 upright fridge/freezer combo on Craigslist.

If you want one basically ready to go, search for kegerator on Amazon or Costco and you can have one on your doorstep for less than $400.

Keep in mind you will need to find a place to fill the co2 tank before you can pour.

Can't say for sure if it is shot or not but you can get an inkbird digital temperature controller for less than $40 to replace it. I have two and they work perfectly.

I just paid $1,727 for mine with 3 taps. Commercial unit. On casters so I can easily move it inside for the winter and outside for the summer. Holds up to 4 sixths, CO2 in the fridge. Cooled tower. Available as two tap as well. Love it!

I have the KC2000 Twin model, and I found that around the 3-5 setting is around 38° with the compressor running and 42° standing(Air Temp). I would recommend one of these to help get the temperature just about right. You will need to record a couple of measurements to get the Air Temp and then with a glass of water and a thermometer to get the liquid temp. Ideally you want the liquid temp at around 40° like u/dwkeith mentioned, but keeping it too close to freezing can mess with the carbonation. Also don't forget to clean out the lines every 2 weeks to ensure that there is no buildup of mold or yeasts. I use this cleaning kit to keep the lines, fittings and spouts clean and moving fluidly.

If you're looking for a cheap fix, you could get a blank round metal electrical box cover, cut a 2.5" hole in the center (or whatever the diameter of the draft tower) and paint it with some type of chrome or silver paint. This would cover the large hole.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Mulberry-5-in-Ceiling-Blankup-Canopy-for-4-in-Box-White-40430/100152838

Then you could put a draft tower flange over the wider plate you made. One that is meant to fit the tower, and would cover any unevenness in the hole in the lower plate.

https://www.kegworks.com/2-1-2-flange-cover-for-draft-beer-tower-chrome?keyword=&matchtype=&device=c&adtype=pla&productgroup=402427782886&productid150-15&gclid=CjwKCAjw4NrpBRBsEiwAUcLcDMcSLp0jN2Pra6_eMwB-nyWASSMnBolmOKWeKFND6fs1LT0j9-eNthoCvmIQAvD_BwE

You could also order a stainless steel disc like this to make the lower ring. A little more expensive but might look nicer than the electrical box cover. Especially if you could polish it to a shiny chrome-like finish.

https://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Steel-Plate-Diameter-304/dp/B076HJSCWS/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=stainless+steel+disc&qid=1563928133&s=industrial&sr=1-3

Or if you have a welding/fabrication shop nearby, see if it's something they could whip up for you.

Yup, that'll work perfectly for you. As long as everything else runs when the thermostat is bypassed, the STC-1000 would work. All it's doing is cutting power to the fridge when cooling isn't needed, so it's basically plugging/unplugging it as needed.

Just permanently bypass the thermostat and either wire the STC-1000 in directly or put an outlet on it that the fridge can plug into. Should work just fine. The most difficult part of the job depending on your setup would be getting the STC's temperature probe into the fridge. Mine comes in the top with the beer lines and is taped to the side of the keg so it's monitoring the beer temp more than just the air in the fridge.

Here's the one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/Lerway-All-Purpose-Temperature-Controller-Thermostat/dp/B008KVCPH2. Should be the one you need assuming you live in the US.

So, to follow up, I ordered the Perlick 630SS and all the weird grossness went away! It turns out it was old beer sitting just above the piston on on the faucet on my old set up (and basically molding over the course of a day, yuck). I highly recommend this thing, its awesome.

u/yooston · 1 pointr/kegerators

thanks for the info.. man i did not think this was gonna be so complicated to get a normal consistent pour.. its a commercial keg with this kegerator http://www.amazon.com/Nostalgia-KRS2100-Kegorator-Black-Dispenser/dp/B000HJVYDQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1457474569&sr=8-3&keywords=kegerator

u/Daefish · 1 pointr/kegerators

Do you know if I can upgrade the handles I have to tap handles or are they threaded differently? Would I need an entirely different tower to put them on or can I just replace?

This is what I have

I wouldn't mind moving to these or something similar

u/3bodyproblem · 3 pointsr/kegerators

Throw out the garbage regulator that comes with the kegerator and buy a dual gauge Taprite (ex https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008EKR0UG/)

u/Chollar1 · 1 pointr/kegerators

You can buy rebuild kits. All parts for kegerators are basically the same, minus compressor and cooling systems. Kegco Draft Beer Tower Rebuild Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0045MS416/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_UxesxbSFSSJTJ

This is what i used and bought new couplers for whatever style keg you are using.
