Tbh, one of my favorite drinks for energy is a greens juice powder. That is the one that I use, it's unsweetened and unflavored because i am picky about that stuff. It has 5 grass juices, 23 fruit/veggie juices and 14 sprouts. It also has Probiotic and Enzyme.

I will often drink it in the morning for breakfast when I have it around. I'll sweeten it with honey, and it's pretty tasty. If i have Cacao i will throw a little in some mornings. It's a little expensive, or I would drink it much more frequently - It's so good to me.

I won't have a craving for food. I will have tons of energy. I will generally be in a better mood and feel better. I'll also occasionally throw other herb powders or oils into it if i want a dose of something, such as Bacopa and Black Seed oil which help with my pain/anxiety/overall health.

Another one that really helps me early mornings with energy, food cravings, pain and overall mood is Ginger. This is an often under appreciated herb, it's very good stuff. Here is a post that i made a while ago discussing ginger and its benefits for someone. I used it very often working early morning labor, it made the experience much more enjoyable.. Plus it tastes pretty yummy :). I've done both fresh root tea and these. The prince of peace are water soluble ginger, cane sugar and honey that you can mix into warm or cold water and make a quick tea. Fresh tea is better, but we don't always have 30 minutes to brew it and the prince of peace is pretty good. It's nice to be able to take a packet, mix it into a bottle of cold water and head out of the door. The ingredients aren't crap like most instant drink packets.

Edit: and yeah, if you haven't experimented or tried yerba or Green/black/white tea - give them a shot. They're great.

That's for sure, this is definitely a friendlier place to ask, and there are people like me who are at least somewhat knowledgable about the kava root :)

If you do get some root instead of concentrated liquid or micronized, and you enjoy it but dont wanna take all that time, you can get a blender super cheap like 20 bucks i think, probably less if you hit up a goodwill or salvation army lmao.

There's also the Aluball which is supposedly easy to use, and you dont have to filter your kava through a bag for 10 minutes. Plus I've heard that the company that makes the Aluball has good kava too.

But from what i've read, root is better than micronized and liquid and it's as if they are missing something, but I only have tried root and yogi tea bags lol so I don't have anything to compare to. Could very easily be easily be kava snobbishness, like how people in this sub look down on people who get their kratom at a headshop or gas station or not from one of r/kratom's approved vendors.

Combining the two isn't really ideal, most use kratom to get OFF of the opiates.

I believe you should wean off if you're going to switch to kratom.

Kratom doesn't have any interactions that I know of maybe someone can chime in, many also use kratom for the withdrawal that opiates cause.

Kratom tases like crap that's the truth by the way you described it with taking chocolate weed .you would upchuck kratom if you do the toss and wash the first few times

Two easy options are buying 000 empty capsules that are about 1g, per empty capsule.

The best way if using oblate discs $7 from Amazon you simply put the kratom in the middle of the oblate disc fold it like a taco then dip it in water which locks. It then uses the same water to toss it down.

Empty 000 capsules link is here

You NEED a scale if you don't have one already.

Don't know where you live but you can get same-day delivery from Amazon if the order is $35 or more.

Hopefully, they offer that near you.

You can get the scale only about 7-8$ and either the oblate discs and either the empty 000 capsules realize I said 000 00 is only a 1/2 gram.

Heres a link to the scale dirt cheap and best one, in my opinion, weighs in the tenths of a gram
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GS8GJGW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I truly hopes this helps, from here you should be fine

I'm not a shill for amazon lol i just prefer faster shipping and know 000 capsules are hard to come by in a regular store and scales i went through up yto $25 dont even compare to this one..

The usage of kratom and opiates i hope people who been down this road can please maybe give him/her guidance on what to do.

You may want to look at the kratom 101 guide.

God bless my friend ;)

Get an Aluball! Great little invention for whipping up a batch of kava.

Another thing about kava...it's an acquired taste. I don't mind it so much any more but at first I found it repulsive. You can hold your breath though and bypass the taste altogether and do a chocolate milk chaser or something like that.

It's a very nice night time relaxer and also helps to get amazing sleep. I really love kava now.

u/Brave777e · 2 pointsr/kratom

I never use strong flavors. If want perfect amount of caffeine, try Guayusa Leaf. Always tasty and add that perfect extra focus effect. I use to use this alone for focus before i met kratom. Its only $20 for a bag. Its same family as Yerba Mate but better in my eyes because it dont have that nasty taste Yerba mate has. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004FSASKU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You will never regret it, I reccomand it to everyone. And everyone who tried it fell in love with it. Plus you supporting Amazon jungles poor tribes since thats where it comes from.

This is also great to during T breaks from krarom. Just brew it and make it stronger.

Ever thought about a potentiator? Lemon is an easy one but Turmeric is a two-fold helper.

Turmeric with piperine (black pepper) to help lower your dose and it has a ton of anti-inflammatory properties. I used to have good results with the GAIA brand capsules. Unrelated to the kratom seller GAIA. There are cheaper versions but make sure it has the pepper. It can thin your blood if you have other health issues just FYI. I hope you find relief.

I take this exact kind every night. Honestly, it doesn't really affect my bowel movements that much. It does however, potentiate the effects of kratom, which is the main reason why I take it.

Before switching over to this brand/type of magnesium, I used Magnesium Citrite powder, specifically this one. Not the best kind for potentiating kratom, BUT super good for helping out bowel movements, which seems to be what you're after. I'd really recommend the one i linked simply because you get a lot for your money. I see many people recommend the "now calm" brand, because it has a great taste, but it's very expensive for the amount of mag you actually get from it. The one I linked doesn't have a sweet taste, it's basically just chalky. But it is a much better deal.

Prune juice is also a viable alternative for aiding bowel movements, and it's what I take. Just 1 cup when I wake up and it keeps everything soft and smooth lol. I actually find it more effective than mag citrite.

That's a nice teapot. I have a similar teapot but I kinda like yours more. I haven't tried using it for kratom tea yet.

I don't think that kratom is as sensitive as thc. I have seen it said to not heat it at a rolling boil, but to do a gentle simmer. But I haven't seen anything definitive as far as a certain temperature that destroys the alkaloids or anything like that. The furthest I usually go these day is to take ginger and slice it thin, mash it with a meat tenderizer, simmer that and put it in the fridge. Then later I put kratom in a mug, pour a third of a mugfull of hot water from the electric kettle thingie over it let that sit until it's less gritty and then add some ginger juice which cools it off and bam, down the hatch. I feel like for me, the having of the hot beverage helps and I haven't notice remarkable differences with more futzing. So more often than not, I either t&w or dissolve it in a bit of hot ginger juice and take it and then after that have some tea or cup of soup or something else hot.

If I find anything interesting about heat sensitivity and such I will be sure to pass it along

Hey dude, I think you need to add a few healthy lifestyle choices and take a short break from Kratom. Here's what I suggest:

  • Exercise. Do something 5-6 days a week. Something like lifting weights (or just plyometrics if you don't want to lift weights) 2-3 times a week and cardio (running, swimming, biking, etc.) 2-3x a week. You gotta stress your body to jump start endorphin production plus a whole host of other benefits.

  • Eat healthy with lots of good fats. Avocados, eggs, almonds, fish, etc. and a good krill or fish oil supplement.

  • Add in some magnesium glycinate (300 to 400 mg) before bed.

  • Nigella Sativa seeds (Black Seeds): this is commonly taken as an oil (Black Seed Oil), but the seeds are very nutritious, tasty, and have plenty of thymoquinine themselves. Take 1 tbsp, ground up, with some honey once in the morning and once in the evening. You can try taking this about 30 minutes after your dose to potentiate effects. This is the brand I use.

  • As someone else pointed out, if you can get CBD, try it. It is known to be an allosteric modulator of the mu opioid receptor, so taking 6-12 mg of CBD 20 - 30 minutes after taking Kratom can give you much better effects, especially with anxiety.

  • Meditate. Seriously. If you have trouble focusing, take 200 - 400 mg L-Theanine about an hour before you meditate. This works wonders for cyclic thoughts associated with anxiety and depression.

So the point is, you gotta make healthy lifestyle choices that help you get past your inner issues, and use Kratom as a tool to help you do this. I would highly suggest you take a week off Kratom while you (hopefully) put my above list to work. Additionally, taking 30 mg DXM (get the gelcaps -- PURE DXM ONLY) before bed for that week will greatly reduce your tolerance.

    Good luck.

I'm in the nutraceutical biz and what I've found is most effective is to look up on Amazon or Vitacost the drug that I'm taking, than I check the ingredients and from this you'll find the safe dosages. Branded retailers are pretty good about putting correct qty in capsules.

Go to Amazon and just type in "Enhanced Turmeric" a number of products show up. or click this link
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=enhanced+turmeric

this product says 10mg per 1500mg dose
https://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Bioperine-Available-Standardized-Curcuminoids/dp/B01DBTFO98/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1499540532&sr=8-2&keywords=enhanced+turmeric

This product is 10mg per 1300mg dose
https://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-absorption-BioPerine-Standardized-Curcuminoids/dp/B01N18P82R/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1499540532&sr=8-3&keywords=enhanced+turmeric\

This product 10mg per 1500mg dose

So the suggested dose of retailers is 10mg per 1500mg that is the safe level. These companies have researchers who investigate the products before formulating. Let them do there work and just follow there findings and you'll be fine. We are in a litigous society so if they are wrong than they can be sued. They usually aren't.

Nice, sounds like a good system! I have some other capsules that aren't separated, I've just been using them for my magnesium liquid and black seed oil.

This is what I bought last time, it's a pretty decent price honestly.

My theory: kratom is one of several factors that increase the liklihood of cystic acne, but the root of the problem is an immune system issue.

More water, spread out the doses more to avoid withdrawl, don't touch face, and avoid gluten/dairy/sugar, are the only things the seem to help. And even then I'll get a few each month.

Here's my presleep routine treatment when I get cystic acne:

  1. Drain the acne spots as carefully as I can of blood/oil/puss. (they won't pop and and they go very deep)
  2. Clean them with this wound cleaner: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005G7M5ZU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
  3. Put a tiny dab of skin protectent like Vaseline or Aquaphor on each spot.
  4. Put bandaids over the spots (don't use too much protectent or face moisturizer cuz the bandaids will fall off)

A lot of work and a bit expensive but its the best routine I've come up with.

What source did you get that info from? Scutellaria Baicalensis has really been studied a lot and pretty much proven to be good for liver function. One of the things it does do is inhibits the speed at which your liver metabolizes substances, so it's important to know how that affects any pharmaceutical drugs you are taking. But there is a lot of strong evidence that shows that because it inhibits the speed of metabolizing, it makes the pharmaceuticals more effective because they in turn stay in the blood stream longer. This has been especially shown to be true with anti-cancer and antibiotic drugs. I highly highly recommend Stephen Buhner's book on Herbal Antivirals for more information about a lot of plants that can be helpful for a multitude of viruses, including HepC

I have one similar to this one, measures to .01 and mine is still going strong two years later. Edit: I have one similar, my brand was smart weigh, looks like Amazon isn't currently selling it.

I've seen recommendations for this one from people I trust.

u/dude215dude · 3 pointsr/kratom

There's a professor at Temple Univerity in Philadelphia who wrote what is considered the first extensive text on Kratom as an "opioid from a non-opioid source" it's on Amazon here if you want to check it out, it seems pretty expensive though:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1482225182/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/192-5010898-7834929#

I've been meaning to read it myself, it's also the same guy that helped synthesize Tramadol.

I really like the the term "opioid from a non-opioid source" for some reason, lol.

u/deeeeeexm · 2 pointsr/kratom

I was debating between two scales, this and this but figured the latter had better reviews. I did see that thread, and it did help reinforce my decision. Plus, I can probably use it to meal prep in the future since I can weigh up to 500g vs 100g.

Nice! I debated on buying the bigger sample pack, but figured the small one was safer in case I didn't actually like kratom. It's too bad that you have to pay for shipping, but I got my package very quickly, so I can't complain.

Also you might want to try another strain. That source naturals stuff is stronger than the benzos I am prescribed.

I'm holding off on purchasing my lab stuff all at once. I'm going to spend a month researching, and get a couple books on kratom, like https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/ol/1482225182/ref=mw_dp_olp?ie=UTF8&condition=all

I'm also going to find some books on organic chemistry. I've found that very specific equipment will be needed, and there are dozens of variations, so I don't want to spend hundreds on incomplete lab equipment by going off half cocked. Once I've got a solid understanding, I'll try finding gear for under $300, then post the shopping list here.

Sciguy52 , thanks for the assistance so far! I think if we put together a crowdfunding campaign to obtain a used gc-ms, this community could rise to the occasion. I'm going to haunt some other subs and forums, and see if I can't find a group of experts willing to offer suggestions and insights.

We should come up with informal surveys, use cases, and scour all the anecdotal information out there to try to provide a comprehensive scientific resource.

Herbal medicine is woefully under-represented in western culture. The internet is allowing good information to rapidly spread, but it's as hard as ever to provide authoritative sources. The kratom Wikipedia article is a great example of this, where ignorance has prevailed.

u/Sally_C · 2 pointsr/kratom

Another thing that can be helpful is capsules that are already separated. These (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0050PHIRI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) come in two bags, the top and bottom, and I put a silica packet in each once they were opened. Works great with the Capsule machine (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Capsule-Connections-The-Capsule-Machine-For-Filling-00/28489887)

u/MayBugBby · 1 pointr/kratom

There are studies showing the opposite, how it works as an anti-inflammatory agent, perhaps you could look into that to see how effective they found it was, I would recommend reading this book for an in depth analysis and links to further sources.

Chapter 20 of the book concludes, “many strides . . .have been made . . . regarding its potential therapeutic uses as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory agent, and muscle relaxant."

u/TylerDusty · 2 pointsr/kratom

Everyone will probably vote me down but go to a reputable headshop/smokeshop and ask if they have Urban Ice Organics Kratom. This is how I first got into Kratom, they sell 25 caps for $20-$25. Urban Ice Organics has quality Kratom as well, I can account for that, but it must be that brand.

If you have the time, go to amazon and buy this capsule machine and capsules to go with it. Then buy the Kramtom powder from online and fill the capsules yourself, much cheaper that way,

This is the scale that I bought

Really solid product. It's scary accurate to the point where my dose weight will fluctuate seemingly by random until I realized it was my breathing that was making the weight fluctuate.

Only downside is that the plastic case it comes with doesn't even fit. I broke it accidentally just trying to remove it. Doesn't matter though, it's pretty durable and I'm very satisfied with it.
