If it needs to be new, then it looks like you are out of luck for that price. The best I could find is $176.95 on Amazon. If used is acceptable, then BrickLink is your friend.
You could also see if anyone will sell you one on /r/legomarket.
Interesting. for reference, I have 15-20 thousand pieces, and I'm only now considering sorting to be worthwhile. I'm sorting my most common pieces by type (all colors of 1x2 plates in one compartment) and other types in mixed categories (all 1xN slopes in one compartment (1x2, 1x3, 1x4 all together). I'm using these (several of each):

http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-Removable-Compartment-Professional-Organizer/dp/B001G1CUK0/
But with under 5K parts, I'd recommend just sorting by size, as I mentioned before, maybe into something like this, with one drawer for each size:
http://www.amazon.com/Sterilite-20738006-3-Drawer-Organizer-See-Through/dp/B002BA5F6Q/
Hope that helps!

i think this would be right up your alley. it's a great book. i think you'd appreciate it more if you built a few of your own creations first, but if you really want something to pull from, there are all kinds of cool techniques in here
edit: and don't worry about it, you'll surprise yourself with some of the stuff you come up with!
nice. one thing i found is lightsaber blades, or if you have them, lances, are great for keeping the leaves together. my tree is pretty sturdy now, but before it kept falling apart.
this set http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-6024762-Castle-Forest-Ambush/dp/B00CNC3QUY/ has some useful tree parts like this http://brickset.com/parts/6081990
I have both the 9493 and the 8088 and I preferred the 9493. I thought the build was more interesting including the mechanism to make the wings open and close. And I love the minifigs in the orange jumpsuits from the original trilogy and you get Jek Porkins.
If you're in the US, this is the link to Waka's Robot Factory. It's well worth $5. I also purchased Waka's Mech World, which is just pictures, but is AMAZING.
Yeah, I don't understand why they cheaped out on the limo. I have the other limousine set #3222 http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-City-3222-Helicopter-Limousine/dp/B0039OEBI6 and it would have been nice if they did a version of that.
The Lego Creator Fire Brigade Set comes with a really cool fire truck http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002O064J0/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?qid=1415658786&sr=8-9&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70 and I would think Lego would include a vehicle of comparable quality.
The Scorpion hood ornament was a last minute add since I didn't have anything else to go there but the scorpion works.
Thanks for the compliments.
Badass Lego guns? I have a modified version of the gun from Forbidden Lego, but that sounds awesome!
Amazon links:
Badass Lego Guns
Forbidden Lego.
A little higher than budget but this one looks really cool
http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Star-Wars-Fury-class-Interceptor/dp/B007Q0OV4I/
Also the new Skiff has nice minifigs and is under budget and you could get a Tie Fighter and be within your price range
That X-Men one sounds awesome! I might check that out. I've also been a fan of The Lord of the Rings so I'll check that out also.
EDIT: Just looked at the X-Men one. I think I might get that one or the Fierce Flyer.
Ok good, that is what I was leaning toward. I'll be taking them all apart later today. I'm also thinking about getting some sort of container with small drawers for storage, something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00019JP8S/ref=mp_s_a_28?pi=75x65&qid=1346178804&sr=8-28
I've been really tempted by $85 King's Castle too. $15 off is pretty good.
If you can afford to get Kingdoms Joust too...
edit: also, Gatehouse Raid is meant to be compatible with King's Castle, and it's also on sale...
if you are interested in doing more. My friends have this book
http://www.amazon.com/dp/1593272847
If you want to build a collection fast, series 11 or 12 to current will run you 60-100$ a series on eBay.
Going forward for each series, either go be a bag fondler or the first week they start appearing in the wild watch eBay and you'll usually be able to pick up a complete set for 80-90$ shipped which is only a 30ish % premium and may or may not be worth it to you, personally I hate fondling bags and I think going forwad I'll be coughing up a premium myself for them.
Also, check shop.lego regularly, see what they are giving away free for an order over 35$ and put in an order. Also during double vip consider adding minifigure sets, I buffered my orders this double vip with:
to add minifigs from themes I don't really have any of.
Then, display/storage... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X6AVG3G/ are nice, don't buy them from shop.lego though as they are far cheaper elsewhere. They were actually cheaper at Target or Walmart the other day but I just keep it in my Amazon wishlist for easy reference.
I want your Sopwith Camel. Don't care if it's open because I'll build and display it. Message me a (reasonable) price. :)
Side note, for pricing, you can use this as a guide since I can pick one up brand new with my Amazon Prime account for $166: http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-4657499-Creator-Sopwith-Camel/dp/B007QIJW2Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422553145&sr=8-1&keywords=LEGO+10226. Looks like they are selling on eBay for an average of $120-150.
It has been on Amazon for .04 less than retail for the last few days. If you have Amazon Prime it is free shipping and if you live in my state there is no sales tax!
8 left in stock!!! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L2DL6GG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
He comes in a polybag that's included in specific versions of the new Justice League: Gotham City Breakout DVD.
Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-DC-Comics-Super-Heroes/dp/B01E9PF81M
If you're in Australia, the DVD with minifig is exclusive to Big W.
This Though I am pretty sure it is discontinued.
How much are you looking to spend?
Kingdom's Joust comes with nice pieces. It's all brick-built, no panels. It's got lots of grey and dark grey bricks, wedges, and round bricks. It also comes with good figs (like a stable-boy/peasant, and a nobleman).
http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-4658308-Kingdoms-Joust-10223/dp/B006QZ7T2K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408987692&sr=8-1&keywords=kingdom%27s+joust
My storage system consists of a combination of Stack-On Drawers for most of my plates and tile pieces, plus around ~200 Take-Out Containers in several different sizes for most of my other bricks. Additionally I have larger tupperware or plastic bins for any pieces where the amount is too large for the take out containers. I sort by both piece size and color grouping, so the containers work really well and are reasonably cheap. For small unique pieces, I have them in tiny plastic bead bags which you can find at any craft goods store. I then combine a bunch of the bags into plastic containers.
Since I really only build Ancient history type stuff, anything that I know I will never use are just stored in large zip lock bags and then in plastic bins, such as tires, steering wheels, airplane parts, etc. I also have 4 tool compartment storage chests for minifigures.
For me, Lego organization is an on-going process that is constantly refined and updated. I will buy more bins, or boxes to even further separate things. When I initially started like 4 years ago all I had were about 300 storage baggies, and a dozen or so shoe boxes or large plastic totes.
I got it for $60, amazon is the cheapest and you can sometimes get free shipping. Ends up being $57.
Edit: http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Star-Wars-X-Wing-Starfighter/dp/B005VPRG3S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334112784&sr=8-1
I had a $25 Amazon Gift Card, and was thinking about buying this, only to find the price shot up to $45 yesterday.
Get the Death Star II! Pretty pricey nowadays, though.
Sell it, buy the Fire Brigade, wait for the price on it to get over $1,000, sell it, and then buy a Camel and a bunch of other sets. Profit?
My setup is also based on Akro-Mils drawers and Sterlite drawers and they work great. For other items where I have a lot of a single color, I also use these takeout containers (cheap and very sturdy for the price) http://amzn.com/B00M9Z4SXY . They can be stacked on each other and are clear, so you can see what's inside.
Quick tip: instead of ordering the Akro-Mils drawer dividers separately, just cut index cards down to size. The dividers end up costing almost $1 each, which is crazy for a square piece of plastic, and considering it would cost $40-50 to divide each drawer in the unit, it doesn't make sense when the entire unit is only $27)
That figure is pretty old. I can see the rubber stuff not holding up very well, but someone else that owns it would have to comment.
Also, why not just hit the new one with Gotham City Breakout? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01E9PF81M/ref=sxts1?ie=UTF8&qid=1469113375&sr=1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65
Here's what I use, and I find it really helpful:
http://www.amazon.com/10744-44-Drawer-Hardware-Craft-Cabinet/dp/B00019JP8S
I hope you didn't pay $11 for 70400, seeing as it's $7.99 at Target, Amazon, and even Walmart.
it's back in stock guys
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L2DL6GG/?tag=nisa-20&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
also good site to keep bookmarked if you're looking
http://www.nowinstock.net/toys/lego/cuusoo/exosuit/
You mentioned Red Baron. In that vein - though without knowing your budget - the Sopwith Camel is available now. I own it, and I highly recommend it.
Unfortunately, Lego used this name for both the awesome subscription service and some books.
> 6866 Wolverines Chopper Showdown
There are sets being sold through third party sellers on Amazon. Downside is, the cheapest set is $68.50. Yikes!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B007GE5X7S/
If you've only got two tubs, I'd suggest maybe sorting them by color in these drawers. They're a bit expensive on amazon, you might be able to find them cheaper at your local Walmart. These types are good for organizing into individual parts, but might be a bit overkill for a smaller collection.
No problem! Those robbers were tough though, there are so many that look nearly identical! Anyway, I found some more for you!
http://brickset.com/sets/containing-minifig-sw201 (Although its not listed on brickset, he also appeared in the Star Wars Brickmaster

http://rebrickable.com/parts/37/minifig-knife/72 (This piece is in so many sets it doesn't even really matter, but I included it anyway.)
http://brickset.com/sets/tag-Tauntaun (Brick set lists all of these Tauntauns as different ones, but they all look the same to me.)
http://brickset.com/sets/containing-minifig-sw029
I'm pretty sure that the prisoner with the beard is not in any sets, it looks like someone put the beard on him.
I also recommend The LEGO Ideas Book.
Looks like those belong to this book here
http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Star-Wars-Brickmaster-Publishing/dp/0756663113
There's also a paper airplane launcher in Forbidden Lego that works really well with a few modifications.
Amazon?

The castle series actually does have a battle pack! http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-6024762-Castle-Forest-Ambush/dp/B00CNC3QUY/ref=sr_1_3?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1396581856&sr=1-3&keywords=lego+castle
