I don't have any waterproof cases but I have four cases in total:

  1. Obliq - This one is my favorite. It mimics the texture of the phone while adding grip to the side rails. It's TPU so it isn't too thick, isn't "sticky", holds it's shape, and can cushion drops. Plus, it's cheap ($10). I love it.

  2. Diztronic (Blue) - This one is also great. It has a matte finish over the whole thing which can sometimes show oil/fingerprints but it cleans up with a quick wipe of your shirt. The matte finish feels good in the hand and the case is durable, not too thick, etc. just like the Obliq. I've had Diztronic cases on a few previous phones and they're always great. This one is available in black, grey, and navy blue so you have a few choices. This one is even cheaper ($8).

  3. Ringke Fusion (Smoke) - This one has a TPU bumper and a polycarbonate back. Both the TPU and the PC are glossy so this case doesn't offer that much grip but it feels and looks great on the phone. The PC lets the stock texture show through the back and the smoked sides lightly show the metal rails. I've dropped my phone in this case a couple times and it's taken it like a champ, no scuffs or anything. The PC on the back has a couple light scratches but it still looks great. This one is $11 and you can get it with different colored bumpers (rose gold and clear I think).

  4. CoverOn Wallet Case - This one is completely different since it is a wallet case. I like this case but it's not perfect. It has 3 card slots and a money slot which is great. But if you put more than 4 or 5 cards and a couple bills in it, it has trouble closing. The texture on this one is great, it's vinyl or something but looks/feels almost like a canvas because of the texture. The TPU case holding the phone in place has all the right cutouts, is "low cut" so you can swipe from the sides easier than non-wallet cases, etc. The only negatives I have about this case are the fact that you can't put many cards/bills in it and if you look at it from the back, the camera/buttons are slightly off-center in the cutout. You can still see the entire camera/buttons and press them with zero issues but they're slightly off center, this is OCD. Especially considering it only costs $7!

I hope that helps. I don't use any screen protectors.
u/Froyo15 · 2 pointsr/lgv10

The Moto 360 works fine, I have one too. Haven't had any issues or problems.

Nova Launcher should work just fine with your settings, I don't use since I'm ok with the LG launcher.

I've dropped it once with a TPU case on (This one here) onto concrete from about 3 feet. No cracks or dinks.

To my knowledge most warranties are one year for phones, so LG wouldn't be any different. I have it on T-Mobile so I pay for the protection.

The charger says Fast Charge but I'm not sure about it supporting Qualcomm Quick charge. I would assume but I have really good battery life so quick charge isn't that important to me when a case was on.

I don't use the finger print scanner since I have my Moto 360 with me like 80% of the time, I use smart lock. The time I don't it works fine about 70% of the time. Just register you finger twice. Also if you put a case on delete the old finger scans and redo them. This fixed the issue of the scanner not work for me.

As for the DAC, I'm a bit of a audiophile. The phones DAC and AMP are almost on par with my basic $350 set up. My only issue is the volume varies form app to app. In some its loud and in other its too low. There is also no built in equalizer for apps like Spotify, Google music, or Tidal and all the third party app one are complete shit to be honest. The phone seems to have no issue running my DT 770 Pros which are 250 ohm. The phone claims it can run headphones up to 600 ohms but I don't have any pair of cans that are that high anymore. I recommend you check out this post on XDA Developers form for more info about the apps that work with the DAC as well as how to enable the DAC in any app.

So far I really love this phone, storage isn't a problem, screen is nice and balanced, camera is crazy good for a cell phone, battery is average for a phone of its size, second screen is actually useful, and performance is on pair with most phones out there. Plus for a flagship phone that has a removable battery and expandable storage is almost unheard of now a day, it's a rarity now.

I am not usually a fan of cases as they make phones bulkier but I am currently using a Ringke Fusion and it looks great and feels pretty good as well. On top of that, actual protection wise I can't complain.

I also use a standard tempered glass screen protector.

u/Kakuz · 2 pointsr/lgv10

Interesting. I can never listen to my iems on full volume with the V10 because it hurts how loud it gets. Anyways, I still think what I mentioned works in this scenario.

As for headphones, it depends. I used the DT 770 because they came to mind only haha they are good, and probably a good pair to test things with. They'd be fairly close to the V-Modas in sound signature, but unless you're very curious on amping the small difference in sound probably won't justify spending $150-$200. You could try a pair of DT 990 instead to test. They are open and have more treble than the M100, so it could be interesting for you.

I own a pair of HD 650 that can be picky with amping, but they might be too pricey (along with the HD 600). The V10 doesn't get them running at 100%, but it does a very great job compared to pretty much every other portable I've tested.

u/Lewzephyr · 1 pointr/lgv10

Yes I know you said not a case. I haven't seen any mod or replacement back yet that give more grip. I think the majority of the slickness is coming from the sides, but the back is also an issue.
I use an OBLIQ case and honestly have been very happy with it.

Good luck on your hunt.

u/UndeadCaesar · 1 pointr/lgv10

Ok I'm pretty into VR stuff so I've treid pretty much everything. Have you tried either GearVR or the higher quality stuff like the HTC Vive/Oculus Rift? If you have, the headsets you can use a V10 with are not nearly as good as those. I've had a couple of Google Cardboard variants, of which my favorite is probably this one. I mainly just use it for taking Cardboard panoramas, which are basically 360 panoramas with some 3D-ness and recorded sound. Great for taking at a scenic lookout or something.

That being said, this is not really a VR-ready phone. It has a high quality screen which is great, but something like a Gear S7 with the GearVR will be oodles better.

u/toilkenn · 2 pointsr/lgv10

Just got my v10 a couple of days ago. Phone is super awesome except for a couple things. My touch seems to be off in the upper left hand corner below the dual front cameras. If im using the web browser like chrome or something, I can't press the back button on the browser itself and I have to use the back button for the phone. I compared it with my wife's phone whom also has the v10 and hers works fine. Since I'm with Verizon and we have 14 days to return it, I'll take it back and get it replaced.

Also the case I got with my phone ( The LG v10 Qbliq black case) it didn't work with the finger print scanner as some of you have already stated. But I managed to trick the phone a little by putting the case on and doing the finger print scanner setup that way and it works a lot better.

Case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016WSNTC4/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687522&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0168G3GRI&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0JC27XV006KMSC7QP5KR

u/4k5 · 2 pointsr/lgv10

I got this:

http://www.amazon.com/Fusion-STRIKE-Kickstand-Collection-Miniturtle%C2%AE/dp/B019242YDU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458654536&sr=8-1&keywords=v10+case+motorcycle

It kits pretty nice, sometimes the rubber gets pulled out from between the phone and the hard plastic back. But it seems pretty sturdy to me and doesn't;t add too much bulk. Plus this kit came with a stick on screen protector and stylus. I was happy with my purchase. Maybe I should leave a review...

Anyways, just wanted to share my experience!

u/eskjcSFW · 1 pointr/lgv10

My fingerprint sensor works great even with a case. I find that I have to use more of the tip of my finger to get it to unlock though.

I use a Spigen Case which got crappy reviews because the fingerprint sensor issue but once i learned how to place my finger with the case on it works great now. I best advice is to keep experimenting with different ways to place your finger.

u/Br4hm4 · 1 pointr/lgv10

I haven't found a case that lets the fingerprint reader work with the Tmo version. I read somewhere that AT&T sent out an update that helps with their versions but no luck for me. If you are looking for the rest of the criteria...honestly the Spigen I got from Amazon worked pretty good: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0176UXH7E?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00

u/The_Punniest · 1 pointr/lgv10

This is the Obliq:

http://www.amazon.com/OBLIQ-Absorption-Scratch-Resist-Protective/dp/B016WSNTC4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1457760088&sr=8-3&keywords=spigen+v10

It is thinner and probably provides a bit less protection but it has way better grip and feels much better in your hand.

u/strayclown · 2 pointsr/lgv10

I have the same one. It seems to collect dust a whole lot more than the phone screen, and dust also collects around the edges a bit which is harder to clean. Other than that, it went on easily, I got it straight enough the first time, and it doesn't seem to affect the front camera or touch sensitivity. It hasn't shown signs of wear yet, I've had it for a few weeks now. I paired it with a fairly cheap spigen case and I'm happy with them so far. I haven't "tested" the durability of either though, and I hope not to for a long time.

u/alexok37 · 1 pointr/lgv10

could you elaborate on this? I've ruined 4 or 5 cables the past few months. I have a fast charging samsung cable that has somehow survived. At this point because the samsung cable is still working, im pretty confident it is the cables and not the phone. Any replacements you recommend, about to buy https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06X9M84GV/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1H5P8LZQVDFZX

I bought this neat little clip on lens kit from Aukey that has a 15x zoom macro lens. Got some cool pictures of a TINY jumping spider. The green thing he's sitting on is a 1/4" diameter plant stake.

http://imgur.com/a/zeJHW

Pics are cropped with a bit of color correction in Lightroom.

Here are the same pics unedited straight from the phone:

http://imgur.com/a/cwGa1

This is the lens kit I bought: http://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-iPhone-Fisheye-Android-Smartphones/dp/B01AYY835U

The OIS kinda freaks out when you try to use the fisheye lens. The wide angle lens works pretty well and the macro lens works great especially if you use manual focus. You have to get REALLY close (<1") to what you're taking a picture of though.

u/Bcastro16 · 4 pointsr/lgv10

The Moto 360 should work for the phone

Nova launcher works, I'm using prime atm

Love the second screen, use it regularly and can be turned off,

Beating the phone? Hmm. I've had mines for a little over a month and haven't had any signs of scratches, dents or anything. I did drop it once, chest height, but no physical damages, phone still worked flawlessly

T-Mobile has handset protection, and will repair it for any water rated, broken screen, etc. Pretty much anything

I'm not sure about turbocharging, never heard of it. But the phone comes with a cable and adapter that has the quick charge enabled. If the turbocharging says anything about Qualcomm quick charge 2.0, then you can use it with full advantage with the phone.

The finger print scanner works well but needs a software update to fix bugs, case problems, latency issues people are facing. At&t already released an update to fix that, now it's for the other carriers to do so.

I don't use HiFi Dac often but when I do, I notice a tremendous difference with my headphones. It reminds me of surround sound when listening to it. Though not all apps support it yet. There's a thread on xda showing which apps do and don't support it. Spotify doesn't:(

A case I would suggest is this one on amazon I love it as it sticks to the cool looking back and has good grip and protection while keeping it slim and comfortable to hold.

u/RAMASO · 1 pointr/lgv10

I don't know about it being badass. But this is the only type there is to waterproof a device. With a pouch. https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Waterproof-JOTO-CellPhone-Motorola/dp/B00LBK7OSY/ref=pd_sim_107_7?ie=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00LBK7OSY&pd_rd_r=6YKFAT85B7Q37D05JVRM&pd_rd_w=ObjdM&pd_rd_wg=qcAII&psc=1&refRID=6YKFAT85B7Q37D05JVRM
All other "waterproof" shells or cases might be water resistant at best since they recommend against submersion. I guess, just being able to use your device underwater is badass enough, right?

u/irishsandman · 5 pointsr/lgv10

I have the very popular Obliq case seen here on Amazon for $9.99.

It barely increased the size and weight of the phone (and I'm picky about that) but it's really just a bumper case. I really like the ability to set my phone face down and protect the camera hump when on it's back.

No issues with the fingerprint reader (on AT&T MM). The texture on the back is the closest to stock feel, and the phone is slightly grippier and easier for me to use while on a call.It doesn't rock while sitting on a table during use (my UAG case does).

Final downside, since it's just a bumper it won't save the phone from major drops and it can pull away from the sides a little bit on it's thinner parts. Very minor issues for $10.

u/FaytheReyn · 1 pointr/lgv10

I have beyution headphones. If they're over Bluetooth, they suck, but plugged in, they're amazing. I listen to punk and electronica, and they can shake my eyeballs when I have it plugged into my v10. :-) These are about $21, and I have them in pink. This is just my preference, and was extremely affordable for me. I hope you find what you're looking for.

u/k_w_b_s · 2 pointsr/lgv10

I recently bought the Letdooo Universal Adjustable Bike Mount specifically for playing Pokémon Go while riding (I'm not a serious rider and so I have no issues pulling over at stops and when catching).

While my phone has 50% of a Toast cover on it, I also throw on my old OBLIQ case for extra protection. With the case on, the phone snugly fits into the holder without much wiggle room, but the mount still tightens shut a few clicks when compressed.

It's mounted to the handlebar and as far as I can tell, hasn't moved once. I ride mostly on the road, but some of it feels off-roading with how bad they can be by me. The mount's bottom catch is off to the side, so you could easily plug a USB cable in to charge with a portable power pack. Installation was also incredibly easy.

All-in-all, I would definitely recommend this, especially at its price point.

u/Keisaku · 1 pointr/lgv10

I got this one and love it. The pictures don't do it justice. the second slim perimeter piece looks like titanium- though it's plastic. The case fits really snug as well.

The only issue is I cant plug my 65ohm over the ear headphones into it as the hole is too small. I'll have to get a smaller 1/8 adapter to fit.

u/Mysteryck_386 · 4 pointsr/lgv10

Dude, I just got the oblique. I love this thing. The extra grip on the edges is amazing.. I'm usually a no case guy. But this one is perfect!

A little late now, but silica gel works way better then rice.

And for anyone who does this in the future, don't try to turn the phone on if it's still wet. Yank the batter as fast as you can, that's yet another benefit of having a removable battery!

u/waitn2drive · 1 pointr/lgv10

Bigger battery you say?

Hope you like the idea of carrying around a brick. (:

u/BDestroyer8418 · 1 pointr/lgv10

What I did was I had a extra protector laying around from my G4 it was a Clear Film type and just cut a circle and applied over it. No issue's yet. Can get a few of them out of 1 if need to be replaced in future. I need to make another since the one I cut was really rough just guess and trimmed a little but could make it better.

This is the one I had http://www.amazon.com/Skinomi%C2%AE-TechSkin-Replacement-Definition-Anti-Bubble/dp/B00VVM4WPU/ref=sr_1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1450144723&sr=1-2&keywords=g4+skinomi

Believe got it for $1 with some promo code during the Summer. I'm sure any kinda a protector like this would do the job might have something already or something cheaper you can find.

u/nolageek · 1 pointr/lgv10

It helps a little. It'll go from working 10% of the time to working 60% of the time.
I have the Obliq case. Love it:

this one.
Sturdiest TPU case I've ever had. I'm very clumsy and have dropped my phone many times from various heights and it's protected my phone very well. 10/10 would recommend

Condition: mint (never been dropped), only the back panel corners seem to be wearing out. i guess its because of the friction from when i take it out of my pocket? but that could be easily replaced.

I do have the box. I know it can be GSM unlocked once the phone is paid off.

Accessories: I have a spigen screen protector. Extra battery, cradle charger & SD card from the LG Promotion. I also have an original LG bumper case and this Obliq case Amazon Link

This and I'm also partial to the Spigen glass screen protector. It covers your front facing cameras....

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016X1FODW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_RIKpxbQ9XTTWX

They make a more rugged version, but my galaxy s4 and v10 have went through several drops with this and were fine.

I've also been using this case by poetic for a few months and like it quite a bit. Same setup with the glass protector...

I acquired this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0154NAJP8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00.

Phone fits just fine in it. Only thing that is an issue as everyone has stated in reviews it that it needs padding on the nose portion which is an easy fix.

For mine, I have the Spigen Slim Armor protective case http://amzn.to/1YaHJMX with a screen protector. Got it off of amazon around early December and, I like it cause it does not make the phone not too bulky, contains a stand for displaying your phone sideways, and, it's not a hassle to take the case off to swap batteries or change the micro SD card.

u/adreww · 19 pointsr/lgv10

I have this one and it is great. It's not like an Otterbox or anything like that, but is just a standard bumper case that keeps the screen and camera lens from getting scratched.

Lol I just got and promptly returned this case. Poor quality and just cheesy feeling. Difficult to get the phone in and out. I have http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B016X1FODW/ref=psdcmw_3081461011_t2_B0176UXH7E and its far superior. I have this. It's simple and sleek but I'm replacing it soon with this. I used to have the Spigen Glass Screen Protector but it literally chipped after just a few hours of use. Went with their plastic ones.
