Yes, but not curved on the actual display panel but the edges.. glass screen protectors will not be easy due to the bezels getting Smaller and the curved edges but at least you still have a shot at it unlike Samsung's which the actual display is curved too, causing a distortion and practically impossible for a glass protector. They're still working on a glass screen protector on the V40, sometimes it takes a few months until a good one releases. The one available now will leave a small amount of halo around it but it's better than nothing. Your second option is wet install screen protectors.. the matte one looks nice from IQ shield.

Here's a pic from Amazon. I don't recommend the "full coverage" one because they fall off, just get the traditional full adhesive with shortened edges.

So far these two are your best options:

[3-Pack]-Mr Shield for LG V40 ThinQ [Tempered Glass] Screen Protector with Lifetime Replacement Warranty https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GXH9DY9/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_iu22Bb1XWYVRF

LG V40 ThinQ Screen Protector [2-Pack, Case Friendly], IQ Shield Matte [Anti-Glare] Bubble-Free Screen Protector for LG V40 ThinQ TPU Film https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077QTTZFN/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_yU22BbG8Z7EB3

Or just wait until a manufacturer creates a good working one. It took several months until the V20 got a perfectly working full coverage glass screen protector (the PThink brand).

Here is the color.

https://imgur.com/a/AKba2TN

It is this color for every message thread and when looking at all the conversations.

I literally just got so as far as batter life and screen time I cant' really say. It seems to be doing fine. It came with about 55% battery life and after downloading about 125 apps over wifi and spending about 45 mins on a fast charger, its still at 50%.

Out of the box it is running V405UA10d, which if it is consistent across carriers is similar to TMobile's V405TA08b which is described as their launch software version. There were no software updates out of the box. I did notice that the sticker seal on the box was cut and a secondary QC Passed sticker was placed over it.

Initial thoughts on the camera is that the front cams are definitely better than the V30s and the rear cameras are solid, especially in manual modes.

Accessories wise, I went with the Supershieldz Tempered Glass which applied very easily but does have quite prominent edges.

I ordered a cheap, clear case (I like the look of a skin under a clear case) until an option from Spiegen or other more reputable manufacturer comes out. It doesn't come until tomorrow, so we will see how it plays with the more prominent screen protector.

Hope this helps!

[2 Pack] GLASS-M LG V40 Tempered Glass Screen Protector, Ultra Clear, Scratch Resistant, Bubble Free, Anti-Fingerprint Screen Protector Film, 9H Hardness, Case Friendly Premium Protection Shield https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HRJFCLW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_9vomDbWCEKKAK

I know it has mixed reviews, but for me it's worked brilliantly . It's not complete coverage because the screen has a gentle curve at the edges but the gap is small enough that it's perfectly safe, especially if you use a case with a raised lip around the screen.

So far I am loving the phone, and thank you for replying it is nice to see real people giving there personal experience, I would still love to see jerryrigeverything get his hands on one. I personally bought 2 cases for it tonight, the spigen full armor one and a fusion case one someone on this recommended. However when it came to the screen protector itself I went against the glass this time as on my v30, s9+, s7 and other phones I have had they are not working out well for me so I went with a film that has pretty good reviews. Links to what I bought below.

Screen Film: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077QKVF6T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Spigen Tough Armor:

I like the case but really don't like the screen protector. I've put on plenty of screen protectors in the past and never had issues but I have bubbles. Would not recommend.

The case has a nice textured feel to it but not the grippiest case but much better than the glass back itself. I like the way it looks and has a nice slim fit to the phone but also not the sturdiest of cases.

u/Bobin_Luxtcy · 1 pointr/lgv40

+1 to the "anything Anker" suggestion. I also bought these wall chargers:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C2QG8BB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_UnLHDbHQYP99A

And these cables:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JCNZCK8?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Along with a few of those 3-in-1cables for other devices, and have been very happy. The chargers are quick chargers and do a good job giving a quick boost. The cables feel like they're nicely built and I can't recommend having long, 10ft cables enough. Ran mine up the back of the couch into the cushions so people can charge while watching TV and have a few in the shop.

I have the thin Spigen case on mine, and it works great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GQCN63S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For screen protector, I went for the premium option:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JQT17Q4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For this one, TAKE YOUR TIME. It's pricey, so be really patient, as the process takes time, but the results are outstanding for me. Doesn't attract dust or fingerprints very much and touch sensitivity is great. No rainbow effects either. Admittedly, I messed up my first one due to going too quickly, so I had to order a second one and redo it and it was flawless the second time.

I just submitted my review to Amazon, but that takes time to appear so here's a copy and paste of my 4/5 star review:

Newdery LG V40 Battery case (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KPYCXCM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

If you don't like having to have your phone tethered to a charger throughout the day, then I would recommend considering this case. It's not convenient for everyone to plug their phone in when they need a recharge, nor is it ideal to lug around a bulky power bank. This phone frees you from having to remember to plug in and it's less bulky than most power banks since it's attached to your phone.

BATTERY LIFE

The battery case offers enough juice to give you more than a full charge. I consider myself a heavy user, and this case provided enough power to last me a full day and then some. I unplug my phone at around 6 AM, then, by the end of my day at around 11 PM, the battery case would be depleted or very nearly so, and my phone's battery would be at 40% or more . Getting through an entire day without having to plug in is the goal, so this case meets and exceeds my battery life expectations.

For my testing, I'd begin charging my phone when it drained to about 40%—to start or stop charging, you hold the button on the back for a few seconds—then I would charge it until it reached about 80%. I'd repeat throughout the day a few times as needed. As already mentioned, by the end of the day, I'd still have about 40% or more battery left in my phone and the case would be either depleted or close to being so. My screen-on-time during my week of testing was between seven and eight hours on average with 40% battery remaining.

These results are comparable to using my phone without the extended battery case in which I'd fully recharge my phone at least once and still end the day at around 40%. Had I been unable to fully charge my phone, though, I would have been at a disadvantage compared to using the always-there extended battery case, so the benefit of using this extended battery case is that it's attached to your phone and is ready to provide a charge as needed without you having to track down a charger.

I didn't really test charging times, but I will point out that if you're charging the case and phone together overnight and you want a full charge, then you'll probably want to make sure you're getting a full eight hours of sleep. The two nights I charged the phone and case together, neither were fully charged when I woke in the morning. On the nights that I charged them separately, they would both be fully charged. This is kind of a non-issue, but it's still worth noting.

BUILD & DESIGN

The extended battery case will add bulk to your phone, but it's less bulky than having to carry around a power bank. I actually just recently upgraded to the V40 from the V30 and I immediately started using the V40 with the battery case, so I had to to get used to a larger phone in addition to the extra bulk. It's still big, but I got used to using the V40 in the case by the end of the week. It helps that I also purchased a Ringke ring grip (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JV9TT5Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), though sometimes I'd still hold my phone without sliding my finger in the ring for support.

The case doesn't have the best grip, but it's not what I'd call dangerously slippery. A smart design choice would have been to use a material with much more grip so that we could worry less about accidental drops, especially because this case does not inspire confidence when it comes to protection.

I'd say the biggest downside about this case is that I'd be terrified if I dropped my phone while using it. The corners have some protection, but the lip is almost non-existent over the sides of the phone. For this reason, I'd highly recommend something like a ring or pop socket to use while holding your phone. The case itself of good quality, but it wasn't designed with protection in mind.

Aside from that, it has a cool look. Its design reminds me of the Nexus 4. It's bulky but not nearly as bulky as some ZeroLemon cases that I've used in the past. The size is manageable and not too uncomfortable once you get used to it. When it comes to attaching an extended battery to the charging port of your phone, you really can't come up with a better design than this. The only drawbacks are literally the lack of protection and the less-than-desirable grip.

FINAL THOUGHTS

If you are in the market for an extended battery case, then I can recommend this. You already know what you're getting into in terms of size and bulk, and I can attest that the battery life added is more than enough. The only real concern is protection (and why I suggest a pop socket or similar product).

Extended batteries aren't for everyone. If you don't mind having to plug in your phone or dropping it on a wireless charger whenever you need a charge, or if you don't mind having to carry around a power bank, then obviously this isn't the product or review for you. For those of us who don't like to think about charging our phones and don't mind the size, then this is worth considering. Even if it's not used daily, I imagine there are at least some days you'd wish you had it handy

Hey, wanted to chime in on this since I've had a lot of experience with the last 3 V-series phones. Because the phone isn't triggered into high impedance mode (50ohms and above) is WHY your IEMs are so quiet. The sub 50ohm headphones get detected, and then the V30 and V40 lowers the amp power. I'm not sure why they do this, but to get around it I got a short and cheap 3.5mm male to female output so that it can drive my IEMs way better. Now, it thinks it's in aux mode. However, if you do this, you'll have to first connect the cable into the phone, and then your IEMs into the cable. Not both at the same time. Now, not only is it way more than enough volume for my IEMs, it sounds fuller at all volumes.

Something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/LEMENG-Female-Headset-Extension-Cable-2Pack/dp/B01LRXP43G/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1543568122&sr=8-8&keywords=1ft+3.5mm+male+to+female

or this:
https://www.amazon.com/FAAEAL-Conductor-Impedance-Cancelling-Professional/dp/B07FMG8144/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1543567848&sr=8-3&keywords=3.5mm+impedance+adapter

But I honestly haven't tried the second option...and I'm not sure what it would do differently, or even be harmful for the IEMs.

Ringke [Fusion-X] Compatible with V40 Case Ergonomic Transparent [Military Drop Tested Defense] Hard PC Back TPU Bumper Impact Resistant Protection Cover for LG V40 ThinQ (2018) - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HRNH2CH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Lk80BbJRPSVMW

I got this today and it looks and feels amazing. I love that the back is see through so you can show off your phone. The area around the fingerprint scanner is also contoured to easily slide your finger onto it.

I would recommend using a sticker on the inside of the case to remove any dust that may show through when you put your phone in.

u/hilgerone · 2 pointsr/lgv40

This one works good through my Spigen case on my V30. Pretty good quality too. I picked up for half price a couple months back.

I have a cute flower case, it actually fits really nice and feels good to hold.

u/cranberm · 1 pointr/lgv40

I dropped it out of the car window while at the drive thru scanning loyalty card. I had it in this case. Not a scratch.

Just last week, had it outside the case in my lap in the car, got out, fell directly on gravel road I was parked on, just a nick in the sideraid, no cracks or anything on the glass though.

Take it with a grain of salt, everybody's experience will be different. Great it like it is: a very expensive piece of glass.

u/cmandd · 1 pointr/lgv40

Seems like all of these are the same case from different sellers, and I got the same one.
I also ordered this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H53ZGXF/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

TPU bumper with PC back. Similar to what I was using on the V20. Won't have it until Monday though.
I want a screen protector, but going to wait for an Invisible Shield type to hopefully cover the full screen.

u/Jimmith78 · 2 pointsr/lgv40

+1 to that with this screen protector... Yeah it has the bubbles on the side of the phone but I'll deal with them to protect my screen for cheap.

u/boogiemanp · 1 pointr/lgv40

I personally like the screen protectors with the black borders around the edge.

LG V40 Screen Protector, Poetic [HD Clear][Anti-Fingerprint] Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector for LG V40 (2018) - Clear/Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HNNBJLC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Xu.QCbRG94WHY

The poetic fell off of my phone after one hard drop on a hardwood floor. Adhesive is poor. Great protector no rainbow effect.

SEEU LG V40 ThinQ Glass Screen Protector-(3 Pack) Anti-Fingerprint Anti-Scratch Ultra-Thin HD Clear 9H Hardness Full Coverage Silk Print Black Tempered Protective Film for LG V40 / V40 ThinQ 6.4" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HQLXKDR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_qx.QCbNJD9VRX

I bought the seeu protectors next. You get three in the package. The adhesive is much better. These protectors are very reflective which I don't like. There is a small rainbow effect down the middle but it doesn't bother me.

Thank you! I was actually looking at that glass one, worried about the case thing though.

Did you find a case that works with it?

I'm looking at this one.
