$60 for a teamwolf from amazon
$59.6 for zealios switches from zealpc (0.68 x 87 (keys) = 59.6)
So $120 in total for a brand new, albeit super cheap, setup.

As for the $95 dollar max, I'm just trying to see if anything's out there. If there is a board out there at that price point then cool, I'll take it, but if not then I don't mind making one myself using used and hopefully cheaper parts. I should have specified that I'll take pretty much any board at all that's TKL/full with Zealios switches whether it be a Tomoko that was resoldered or another Teamwolf that someone switch swapped hence the low max price. I'm absolutely not expecting a board with great build quality.
>Try for an Outemu board or something, and work your way up.

I'm not really sure where this comment came from but right now I have a rosewill with cherry mx blues which are a bit too loud and saw on /r/mk that Zealios switches would be good for not annoying my roommates as much as the blues do.

Welcome to the community friend! $30 isn't much but I found a couple on Amazon that will fit your budget nicely :)

May I suggest:

https://www.amazon.com/Rii-Backlit-Mechanical-Multimedia-Keyboard/dp/B01LVZU9B0/

or

https://www.amazon.com/Hcman-Mechanical-Keyboard-Switches-Computer/dp/B01N57WL39/

Off topic but instead of compressed air might I recommend this:

http://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-ED500-500-Watt-Electric/dp/B001J4ZOAW/

$60, it's more powerful than canned air, never runs out, and it's built like a tank. I use the little brush attachment to clean out my keyboards.

u/Milky_Wayfarer · 1 pointr/mechmarket

Nice. I just bought a brown switch TKL myself. Kind of hard to find right now, honestly. I ended up going with the KUL 87. GREAT board. I highly recommend

Price correction in your favor, I saw the E-Element RGB 87 going for $64.99 in Massdrop's Bazaar sale. Can't link now though because the sale ended a couple minutes ago. I think I also saw it on Amazon for $67.99 a few days ago, but I can't find it right now (It wasn't listed as E-Element, but it definitely looked like the same keyboard).

Edit. Alright, it's not 2 AM, I've had my morning coffee, and I found the links on Amazon.

u/PreciseTroll · 1 pointr/mechmarket

Just dial in the temp, and pull the trigger. Have to maintain it - cleaning out the chamber and the nozzel. If you do get that model the spring filter that comes with it is trash but the hakko ones are good albeit expensive here's an amazon link (you may be able to find them cheaper)

edit: apparently 10 come in a package I just ordered some lol I thought it was only one for the spring filter xD

Hey thanks! You're correct, I didn't get pinged from the mention in the post.

For those curious about the board, I used these polyimide sheets to create a barrier between the switch legs and the case. Ugly af but quite effective.

The paper washers were used because the standoffs in the case were not milled at the same angle the board sits at, and after screwing down the PCB the first time the edge of the standoff rubbed enough off the PCB to short a row.

If someone is interested in the board feel free to ask me any questions.

Just saw your post buried. I have a few tips. What is great about my prints is they are resin, so once primed they paint great. Basically make sure to use very small brushes. Like 00 or 10/0 if you have them. Also thinning your paints is key. Not too watery but enough so that you have to do more than one coat to get the color you want. Also you can watch any warhammer painting videos on you tube and apply the same theory and craft for shading.

I really like this brush set. [Virtuo - Pro Series 902L Detail Paint Brushes for Oil, Acrylic and Watercolors, Long Handles ] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CZ4M32G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_.iWHyb3Y3RH79)

And I use game color paints from amazon.

Show me how it turns out!

Bent tweezers work really really well. Unless you're trying to take apart already mounted switches, I find tweezers to be the best (something like the top one in the picture on this listing http://www.amazon.com/Non-magnetic-Curved-Tweezers-Forceps-Anti-static/dp/B00DVIEJ14/ref=sr_1_2?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1409881252&sr=1-2&keywords=tweezers).

I don't have those specific ones though, so I can't comment on the quality of those. Nice reviews though.

Glad I could help! Since it seems like they are now out of stock, for a little more, you can get it here w/ free shipping as well.

If you're looking for something small and practical for your Surface use, and you don't mind a shrinked layout, I can recommand the mainstream Poker II by Vortex for around a hundred bucks, the [Leopold FC660M] (http://www.amazon.com/Leopold-66-key-Electrostatic-Capacitive-Keyboard/dp/B00EI52VCS/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top) for about the same price, the [Ducky Mini] (http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=950) for the same "sweet spot" price, and finally, the Rolls Royce of the small mech keyboard, the infamous [Happy Hacking Pro II] (http://www.elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=pfu_keyboards,hhkbpro2&pid=pdkb400b). Hope I helped you, and good luck with your sell!

It's the last Blackwidow with the actual MX blues, not the Razer keys, which means it's a 2013 blackwidow, I think? Once my family gets home I'll ask them to take pictures and I'll link them to you. In any case, it's the blackwidow that has the matte plastic case, not the reflective one, and I think this is that model year.

It doesn't have any obnoxious branding. There's no backlighting except for the indicator lights and the small razer logo at the bottom edge of the case (but I think the manual says that you can disable that lighting up). I have all the original packaging so you can always check for yourself.

I will say I've noticed the Blackwidow is a bit louder than other keyboards using blues, or at least it's louder than my Max Keyboard Nighthawk, but it shouldn't be an issue and O-rings take care of it pretty much. Also, the amazon reviews when I bought it had many people saying that they used it in an office without issue; my room is quiet and echo-y so maybe I noticed it more.

I can contact you with further details later tonight or tomorrow. Also, you'd cover shipping.

Unfortunately, you’re not going to find much on this sub for less than $50.00.

You could look at the Magiforce 68 - it’s an excellent starter keyboard.

Drevo is also a good place to start. The Gramr is less than $50.00. The Excalibur is a bit more expensive, but it is also a nicer board.

Hope this helps, and GLWB!

Blacks are 20% stiffer than Blues, according to the chart on this page (60 cN vs. 50 cN). Also, Blues are only about 10% stiffer than a Brown, which means you could probably use them as comfortably as you could use a Brown. The clicky switches are incredibly comfortable for typing in my experience.

The Ducky 9008 G2 goes for $110 shipped on Amazon, whereas the Das goes for $139 shipped on Amazon. Keep in mind this is the better-quality version than is sold on Amazon, and it has been completely discontinued.

That's a $30 difference. If you pay shipping both ways, I think that would easily come out fair. Priority Mail from my ZIP (37235) all the way to California (longest reasonable distance in CONUS) is $11.49 if you buy online, so it's likely to be cheaper if you're closer.

I think you need heavier tactile switches. A board with outemu purples would be perfect for you in my opinon

mx browns aren't that tactile and they're just overall bad scratchy switches

here's what you can do if you want something cheap: Get this board off amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Element-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-Switch/dp/B01FXF7HFC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1521265056&sr=8-3&keywords=z-88

and buy these switches: https://mehkee.com/collections/switches-and-parts/products/outemu-switches-purple-teal?variant=48787280079

overall the cost will be around $71 and you'll have to replace the switches yourself (which is really easy, you just pull them out with the included puller tool and replace them with the switches you buy)

u/r4wromg · 2 pointsr/mechmarket

Just fyi, but I use this gun sock for my Minivan and it works super well. Couldn't be happier

u/Exfiltrate · 1 pointr/mechmarket

That's the other one. This is the Nostromo pictured - http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Nostromo-PC-Gaming-Keypad/dp/B004AM5RB6

Quite honestly, the keys on the Nostromo feel like shit (Rubber domes) compared to mechanical keys, but I guess some people still like it.

u/rjmana · 2 pointsr/mechmarket

man. i remember when that pad was still under belkin as the n52te before razer bought it. i think i bought one long ago for 30 or 40 bucks

also, no way that's worth 175. here's one on ebay for 75 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Razer-Nostromo-RZ07-00490100-R3U1-Wired-Keyboard-/262497282393 and even on amazon for ~130 https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004AM5RB6/ref=sr_1_6_olp

even the next generation of that which seems to be the razer tartarus is 60-70 new https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Programmable-Including-Thumb-pad/dp/B00ZTRW00C/ref=sr_1_1

heck, even the orbweaver which at least is mechanical is 130 https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Orbweaver-Mechanical-Gaming-Keypad/dp/B00N2ROG30

edit: price was removed but it was listed as being worth 175

u/turtlobenzene · 1 pointr/mechmarket

I can do $80. Keys are all fine. I miss my arrow keys too much so probably going to get a TKL, likely the K65 RGB :D I'll throw in this bag in if you're ok with $80.

u/Justinicus · 1 pointr/mechmarket

E-Element Z-88 RGB LED Backlit Water-Proof Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with 81 Keys Anti-Ghost keys, Blue Switches, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FXF7HFC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_JSTvyb5JRBZX9

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/122240233042

You'll save some money on eBay, but wait a lot longer for shipping.

u/centraldogmamcdb · 2 pointsr/mechmarket

If you have prime, this is about as close to your $15 budget for a mechanical keyboard that you are going to get

If you can go higher, this one has backlighting
