I'm not aware of any textbook that contains all the subjects in one, and isn't test prep (question and answer format). That said, I only used ASCP's book (BOC Study Guide), which was not that helpful. These are probably too much information, but if she already knows enough about the clinical laboratory to navigate them, they may be helpful. Particularly if you can find cheap used ones a few editions old. These are the books I used for my clinical theory classes:

Hematology

Hematology Atlas

Clinical Chemistry

Clinical Microbiology

Parasitology

Blood Banking

She may also need one for Urinalysis & Body Fluids, though I have not used this one, just picked it from Amazon.

If nothing else the blood banking one is cheap! Good luck!

Dansko Celestes.

I have yet to find a shoe that I have no foot pain ever, but these are the best I have worn. I had sketchers that were lighter, but didn't have enough support. These danskos are not as rigid as most are. I actually took them hiking before I got my good hard sided hiking boots, because they have great tread.

note that I have several minor deformities of my feet and ankles so YMMV on this one. Eventually I'll let a surgeon play with em..

Whatever shoes you go with, be sure to buy some Darn Tough Socks to go with them. Those socks make good shoes feel great. I am very serious, wear these socks.

Your safest bet is leather, full coverage, no holes. This is what is appropriate in a lab and required by a lot of hospitals; whether or not they enforce that, is entirely a different story. Everyone at the lab I'm currently doing rotations in wears sneakers.

I picked these up (the white ones are leather) at a Skechers outlet, because I hate the otherwise entirely unfeminine shoes that are typically offered for lab people. They're extremely comfortable and pretty cute with scrubs.

From an older CAP accreditation checklist:
>GEN.20375 Phase II
Does the laboratory have a document control system?

>It is recommended that the laboratory maintain a control log listing all current policies and procedures and the locations of copies (including derivative documents such as card files and summary charts). The control log may contain other information as appropriate, such as dates when policies/procedures were placed in service, schedule of review, identity of reviewer(s), and dates when policies/procedures were discontinued/superceded.

If you want to read deeper, it references Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI). Laboratory Documents:
Development and Control; Approved Guideline—Fifth Edition.
and ISO 15189:2003

Those are old documents and standards though. AFAIK, these now need to be reviewed and signed off on by management on an annual basis. I haven't read through the latest guidelines, but I have definitely noticed a crackdown on what's allowed to hang around lately.

[Aging with Grace: What the Nun Study Teaches Us About Leading Longer, Healthier, and More Meaningful Lives.] (https://www.amazon.com/Aging-Grace-Teaches-Healthier-Meaningful/dp/0553380923) Really good book that helped shine some light on Alzheimer's. I hate old people, and I hate nuns. But I just loved this book!

I'm in my first semester of pre-reqs. To get a feel, I ordered this book and also did a lot of internet research. May you find success in this field!

I looked it up ( Gosky Adapter for Phone ).

Most reviews are for using with telescopes or binoculars to look at wildlife or for astronomy.

The 2 things that stopped me from ordering one right now were:

>(1) Review for Microscope: "It's really difficult to get it set up right. On our microscope scope you really need to hold the phone further from the objective than this allows. Nobody in the lab uses it."

So I thought I would order it and see how it does with a microscope to photograph cells, & just return it if the images were bad or adapter was difficult to use. Buuuuuut...

>(2) No Returns: " Terrible design squeezes the sides of the phone right where the buttons are located, making it useless for my OnePlus 5T. Further, the way it clamps onto the eyepiece is pretty weak and will not support a steady setup, even if it doesn't compress your phone's buttons as it does mine. I wanted to return this item but Gosky has a "gotcha" return policy. They never even responded to my return request.
STAY AWAY from this bad product and disreputable seller."

I will see if I can find a different one that allows me to return the product though. I'll share if I find one.

Edit: Many of the 3rd party vendors on Amazon (if not all) do not offer free returns or even returns. I contacted Amazon (after reading they their epically long policies) - if you file a form called "A to z form" with your Amazon account, then Amazon sends you a box with prepaid postage so you can send it back, then Amazon refunds you. Customer service also said "usually a phone call to make a complaint, especially if you have Prime, is enough to get Amazon to refund you without having to file a form and send the item back". Coolio!

No problem. Since that list is pretty long, I could even narrow it down a bit.

Microbiology

Transfusion Medicine

Clinical Chemistry

Histotechnology

Hematology

Urinalysis

Molecular Diagnostics

Specimen Procurement

Some of these you can even find free PDFs of online, if you're savvy.
